Mobor One,
There's no difference in flying on a scheduled flight or a charter, other than the booking process. You can still check-in as normal if you wish, but it's far easier online! It's availalbe 2 - 48 hours prior to your flight departing. Once you have your booking reference number, just follow the screen on Singapore's website (click on the check-in tab). There's also a check-in facts and demo here. You'll be given the option of changing seats during the process.

Thanks for that quick reply! Looks pretty straight forward. Any idea what our chances of getting the upstairs economy on the airbus 380? Also, do you think it is worth mentioning at check in that the trip is for a special birthday (ie one with a 0 on?)
I would imagine the upper deck economy seats are very popular so these's less of a chance of getting those. I bet those who check-in online do so to get those. You can only try though. I wouldn't think mentioning it's a special birthday will make any difference, they get that all the time. Probably daily. Was you thinking in terms of upgrades? Zero chance of that unless you are a frequent flyer with them and have lots of airmiles.

I assume I need to book two boarding cards, Heathrow to Singapore and then Singapore to Bali?
Mobor One,
If Heathrow to Singapore is flight 317, Airbus A380, can I safely assume Singapore to Heathrow flight 318 will be the Airbus on it's return?
Likewise flight 942 Singapore to Bali and 941 return are the same plane?
As per my post on the previous page; SQ317/8 are operated by an A380-800 and SQ942/1 are operated by a Boeing 777-200/ER.
Darren
Will the flight from Heathrow arrive at the same terminal at Singapore that the flight to Bali will then leave from?
Singapore Airlines operate out of Terminals 2 and 3. Details will be printed on your boarding passes so you know where to go. Your LHR-SIN-LHR flights operate in/out of Terminal 3. Your flight from SIN-DPS-SIN operare in/out of Terminal 2. Transitting details are given on Changi Internationals website.

Thank you. Very prompt and helpful as always!
http://www.krisshopair.com.sg/index.aspx the prices are all $US. Will they accept stirling, or would it be better to take some dollars?
Also, I can't see cigarettes or alcohol anywhere. Do they sell these items on their flights?
Looking at the items for sale on the plane, at Also, I can't see cigarettes or alcohol anywhere. Do they sell these items on their flights?
I now have the answer to above, they will accept any currency, but don't sell cigarettes on board.
As you're on connecting flights with SIA, they'll be checked straight though to your final destination, so no.

Thats good news. Will make the transfer much easier. Thanks
recentley booked flights from heathrow to singapore 12th oct sq317 so can fly on the new a380 and now looking at internal flights frm manchester bmi have best times for us the question is when we book in at manchester will our laugage have to be rechecked in at heathrow ? thanks
Seeing As Both Singapore Airlines And BMI Are Star Allaiance Members, Your Baggage Should Be Through Checked, This Means That You Check Them In In Manchester And The Next Time You See Them Is In Singapore
does that mean we dont have to check in at heathrow just get two boarding cards at manchester ?
