1. I want to travel without booking a hotel, can i just turn up and find accomodation easily?..............No problem apart from peak season
2. What kind of room will i get for under 1000 Rs?.............. a hotel room with a pool but a guest house or a room with a family you would get a lot of change and B&B
3. I was thinking of walking all the way to palolem over a month or 2 and just finding accomodation as i go, is this possible? i was in the military so im used to roughing it around. Can you sleep in a tent on the beach or is it illegal?........ Can't answer that one

4. How easy is it to live budget style in goa? how are backpackers viewed?.............No problem
5 how easy is it to find laid back partys as a lone traveller? is it easy to make freinds etc..............If your face fits no problem
6 Is it possible to get decent internet connection so i can use facebook or play poker to make more cash ;).......... No problem
7 should i take all cash or cheques? what is the best option?............ Whatever both easy to change
8 is there any chance i can volunteer at the animal sanctuarys whilst there?............ No problem if they need you skills
9 i hear alot about russian mafia etc is it really noticeable? is there any danger?.................. Only if you upset them
10 if my mate does come im sure we would love to have a smoke on them amazing beaches and just chat about the meaning of life etc lol so is it easy to get hold of? i know theres a 10 year jail sentence which is slightly off putting is it safe to ask who sells it etc? its supposed to be a hippy haven or has it changed?.............. I have often been offered a smoke and some area's it is the done thing but don't get caught

11 almost forgot this one, I would love to use a gym whilst in goa lol is this possible? and cheap?............. Some village's and towns have them from 500 Rps a month (without a pool) but depends on what you get for you money, lots of hotels now have them but would be above your budget unless you can bribe the manager

Agree with meagain's answers. You can always get somewehere to stay - it will be very difficult over Christmas and New Year, though.

Lot's of people smoke but "don't get caught" is the best advice. Stay away from police - they view you as a way of making money.
