:D

some other things that I wondered about....

in English we say Right and Left but the word for RIGHT also is the opposite of WRONG and the word for LEFT also means something that wasn't brought with you... do these words do the same in Greek ?

So If I could remember the word for right (left is something along the lines of aristo and right is something like vexeea ).. would you also use it to say "that is right" if someone has said something correctly ?
Reply
Right as in correct....sostos

right as in ok stick to endaxi [ok]

right as in direction thexia on the right sta thexia turn right stripse thexia

left asin forgot.. no equal

left as in direction aristara on the left sta aristara turn left strpes aristara

to be considered fluent in a language you only need to know 250 words and be able to put them into sentences,, to get by yo need about 180

are you saying there isn't a Greek version or thats the phonetic ?

:yikes really !... so at this rate... been going to Cyprus since 2004.. so far managed to pick up the works for good morning and an almost passible thankyou... it should only take me about another 300 years to be fluent .... :D
Reply
there is no equivalent that i know for left [as forgot]

to say there is nothing left [because you have eaten it all] say then emine tipeta [then= turns a positive statement into a negative one] emine tipeta = something more. so then emine tipeta means we havent something more
