Hi everyone,
Hope all is going well with you all this week. I am just back from class and while my rice cooks to go with a tin of chick pea dahl  I thought I would share my good news another 1.5lb loss this week.
Have finally got focused and with 9 weeks until Christmas I intend to stay that way, well at least until the lst week of December when the Christmas meals start and it is nights out etc - our consultant said that maintaining during the festive time is what to aim for and anything else would be a bonus.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Lindsay, welcome back - glad you enjoyed your holiday, try not to worry to much about your weigh in - as long as you enjoyed yourself thats the main thing, any extra llbs (if any!) will easily come off again. And i can highly reccomend Irenes crisps - i've not long finished a big plate of them and they were so yummy!!! and even better they are free on a green day at sw - so i can eat them till the cows come home!!!

Hi Irene, you are just a wee superstar :ghug congtats again on your weight loss - i've just read about your chick pea dahl, i think i'm gonna have to move in with you for a few weeks for all these new recipe ideas!!!! My o/h has just walked through the door and is a bit miffed cos i never left him any crisps (i accidently told Jack i was making them earlier) ah well..... his loss my enjoyment!

:gluck everyone for this week - ps. i lost 1 llb tonight :D

Morning......
Up and about early as we have lots of moving furniture to do today - hubby is decorating 3 rooms - it will be as good as a seesion in the gym
Glad you enjoyed the crisps Rachael - it is just cooking them enough, the first time I cremated them and another time not long enough have now got it right.
Going to try the chick pea nuts next.
On a green day (that is everyday for me) I have a tin of Asda chick pea dahl, but I am certain all supermarkets do their own. It is so quick and great for the 'Saturday night tea' or just when in a hurry. When I have more time I make the one from the SW book which one of my sons really likes.
Well done Rachael and Denny on your weight loss this week - keep up the good work.
We had a member last night who lost 10.5 lb in her first week and didn't use all her B choices although no syns - some days she didn't seem to eat enough which is what they say you should do - puzzling but she did it.
Hope all goes well Lindsay - don't forget you had a brilliant holiday so if things are not what you want to hear strat at day 1 again.
Oh well off to have breakfast and start the 'furniture workout'
Speak soon.

Morning all :wave
So many good news stories this week. Well done everyone :D

The last few weeks have been a bit of an uphill struggle for me. My nan is in hospital so its been a case of grabbing whatever food is easy and that tends to end up being sandwiches, rolls or paninis. The main thing with that, is you cant get plain sandwiches. What's wrong with plain cheese or plain ham? I could syn that quite effectively  It seems that everything is coated in mayonnaise or salad cream. Then coming home on an evening, the last thing I want to do is cook so ive been grabbing quick and easy food - pasta in sauces etc and trips to the chippie or a take away has been quite a regular occurance over the last couple of weeks.

But, I have tried harder to get the enthusiasm this week and have managed to lose ½ lb so that was really pleasing :)
Glad you had a good holiday Lyndsay. Dont worry too much about an increase in weight. You deserved to put on a few lbs whilst you were away. Thats why you were trying so hard before you went.

Have a good week all and :gluck

Hi Folks

Mind if I join in :)

I joined SW last week. Went 5 years ago and lost 3 stone but its been gradually creeping back on  . So finally got into the frame of mind to join again and do something about it.

I lost 1lb this week which I am happy about as I dont normally lose any weight the first week I start a diet. Put hubby on it to he lost 9lb so I will really have to try harder this week, cant have him adonis like :D and me a rolly polly on the beach next year.

thanx everyone for the support!! isnt it strange how men seem to loose lots of weight on sw? my aim now is to loose at least a stone for christmas. i would really like to try for another baby in the next couple of years so i know if i keep my weight off it wont be so hard to loose afterwards and they do say its harder to loose after baby number 2. i only put on half a stone during my pregnancy but i think that was because i didnt eat much and i was already carrying around an extra 3 stone before i fell pregnant anyway. so ideally i would like to be 9 stone when i fall pregnant and with all of your support and my sw class i know i can do it. Irene would you mind if i pm'd you for the crisps recipe?

Hi again,
Busy on here this morning - Great for us all to support each other.
Lindsay by all means PM me, I am digging out loads of recipes at the moment so any that I can share I will. Was going to put some on the board but for those not doing SW it would not be of any help.
Sarah sorry to hear about your nan - hope she is doing better, you did well to lose that 0.5lb as you say trying to get plain sandwiches anywhere is a pain - my son loves just cheese sandwichews not even the likes of Sayers or M+S do them!!!!!
Speak later.

Hi all
Sorry to hear about your Nan, Sarah. You did really well to lose 1/2lb. I have found it's really difficult to buy something 'off the shelf'for lunch. I got a chicken and bacon sandwich from Tesco last week and found (afterwards) it was 11.5 syns!!!! Won't do that again in a hurry!! Irene - that members weight loss -10.5 lb was quite something eh? A girl in our group lost 8lbs, but she has just had a baby and is breastfeeding. Good luck with the decorating.

Hi all :wave
Welcome Lynn. You will get loads of support from this thread. Its been an absolute god send for me at times. Hope your weight loss continues in the right direction :)
Thanks everyone for your support. My nan is doing better but its really slow and its been touch and go for a while.

Irene, M&S are the worst for sandwiches. I picked one up the other day which said "no mayo" only to read on the back that it was full of french dressing type stuff. Tesco do a range of plain sarnies but finding one is a nightmare. Must be because everyone wants plain ones as well. Think there is a market there somewhere :D Oh well, keep hunting
Take care everyone.

Sarah :)

when i am at work my local sarny shop also does salad bowls and jacket potatoes so i suppose i am quite lucky on a red day i get a bowl of lettuce, peppers, jalapeno peppers and tikka/chinese chicken which is free(i dont really like salad which may explain the unusual combination!!!) and on a green day i have jacket potato with beans and cheese. it costs me about £3.00 with a bottle of diet pepsi but it saves me from straying back to my old ways. lindsay

Everyone's been busy bee's on here today!! :D
Irene :tut you cannot mention chick pea nuts and then not share the recipe!!!!!!
5llbs Denny!! many congrats, i'm sure that put a huge smile on your face :D
So sorry to hear about your nan sarah hope she's feeling much better soon, many congrats to you aswell for losing 0.5llb :D it's so hard to pick things of the shelf that are plain, though a lot of places seem to sell cold pasta dishes and salad bowls i'm not so sure how heatlhy they are though  i tend to grab the odd pasta one when i'm out and about.
i wish i'd somwhere round the corner from me that sold jacket potatoes, i'd live in the place! A nice filling for them is dry fried onions, mushrooms and peppers with your daily allowance of cheese melted on top... yummy :P

 ran out of space in my last post

:wave hi lynn, it's great that your hubby is doing sw with you, mine just sits and tempts me all day with crisps, custard creams and jaffa cakes :( but then he's built like a bean pole and gets away with it. Congrats to you also for losing 1llb, as my consultant always tells us..... losing weight is like a car journey some of us (like your hubby) take the motorway while the rest of us take the scenic route but we all get to our destination in the end.
Hope everyone has a good week i'll :zip now!!!

Hi
Sorry to mention chick pea nuts and not share the recipe but I only tasted them at our SW class and not made them yet - may try them tonight so I will let you know, also there was a recipe for a chick pea cake (not got that either yet) 1.5 syns for quite a big cake will get it next week and let you know to me it was like a madeira cake.
Off to Asda for the weekly shop so must buy plenty of tins of chick peas and more lasagne sheets for the crisps
