I'm getting very miffed with the TC 0844 number.
I think I have been overcharged on my seat booking:
2 x £20 when booking the holiday
2 x £16 x 2 people for prebooking seats
Total £104.
I have called the number several times, listen to about 4 minutes of "why not do this", "why not book that" only to then be told all the operators are busy and to try again later! I rang at 09.02 this morning and still couldn't get through. I don't even get as far as being put in a queue!!!
I'm off in search of the 0161 number.
0161 498 4400
Thanks. I'm now waiting for someone to call me back, but I feel so much better for having spoken to a real live human being!
They called me back within 90 minutes, but I was away from the phone, and they have just called me back another 30 minutes later.
I was told I need to contact my TO and ask them to remove the original booking of Your Seat Your Choice to have the balance reduced by £40.
I have just phoned the TO and been told that they would put this through and the balance would be reduced.
Many, many thanks to everyone who mentioned the 0161 number.
I was a bit wary when they said someone would call me back within 2 hours, I didn't expect they would for one minute but they did, and were really helpful and got it all sorted for me straight away!

I am on the tcx 907x from manchester 5th sept I have paid extra to pre book my seats it says 90days before we fly though ,,,, I have been on the web site and it will let me do it now..my question is why wont it let me book the very front row as it says the first 2 rows on either side are unavailable I am prepared to pay the extra but for some reason it wont let me any one have any ideas why thanks
does the tcx 907x have any in flight entertainment at all thanks
a judy, the 1st two rows are reserved for medical seats and are not pre bookable.
All Thomas Cook flights have inflight entertainment. You'll find details on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). As denny.53 mentions, the blanked out rows are medical seats. If you click on the seat plans on the what aircraft guide, they are illustrated.

morning boys... can any of our experts pleas advise the seat width on TC short/mid haul.. need to get a booster for grand daughter
Seat widths are about 17" but car seats and booster cussions shouldn't exceed 16" / 40cm to give enough room for seat belts.
Darren
thanks Darren
I'm a bit confused so hope someone can help. How much should the 'your seat your choice' be with Thomas Cook?
We booked our holiday through the Thomas Cook website. I go on to the 'your seat your choice section' on their website and it comes up as £13 per person each way to book the exact seat you want. So a total of £52 for 2 of us. Is this correct?
Also, once you've chosen the seats you want, do these come through on the holiday tickets? or are they just on the computer systems when checking in at the airport? I don't want to pay the money and then not end up with the requested seats!
Thanks in advance.
There are a few price factors involved when taking out "Your Seat Your Choice". Firstly it depends on wether you're long, medium or short haul and wether you've already (at time of original booking) paid for "seats together".There is a price first to book seats together (which can be across an aisle or one in front of the other) and there is a further cost on top of this to specify which specific seats you're wanting to book.If at the original time of booking your holiday you have already paid for "seats together", then you'll need to contact Thomas Cook about a refund as the online booking system doesn't recognise that you've already paid for seats together. I was lucky, I didn't originally pay for seats together and it saved me a bit of hassle later on.Specific seats can be booked from 98 days prior to your departure date.
Thomas Cook will send you a confirmation email regarding the seats you have booked but it does state that there are times when the seats you have prebooked may not be available i.e. change of aircraft etc but you would get refunded for any part of your trip that isn't honoured,
If you go back to around the 24th of Feb. on this forum and work your way forward you'll see this topic mentioned a few times. I've not long booked my seats and it cost me £64 for two (long haul). I hope this info helps (even a little bit!).I'm sure there are a lot more knowledgeable folk out there who can help you further.
Best wishes.
David
Thanks for your help!
That makes sense, to be honest I think the confusion came from all the different prices being mentioned on this thread not matching the price I got when I tried to book online. Also the Thomas Cook website doesn't seem to have a lot of information that explains 'your seat your choice' and the options.
We didn't book seats together when we originally booked so that should make things easier from what you say. We're thinking of just booking the exact seats for the inbound journey as pretty confident of being allocated seats together on the outbound journey. The problem with package holidays which include airport transfers, is on the return journey you're in the hands of the reps as to what time you arrive at the airport and the coach drivers always seem to decide to take our suitcases off the coach last! Whereas on the outbound journey you're in your own control and we always get there nice and early.
So to be on the safe side I think we'll book seats together for the return journey as last year from Portugal, whilst we did end up sat next to each other but it was across an aisle and i'm a really nervous flyer (at take off, i'm ok once in the air).
natalie, I don't think you can book the specific seats only one way, as far as I am aware you have to book both ways.
Does anyone know if we need to enter the API info? as when I log in to our account it says 'click enter or edit advanced passenger information if you have been advised to do so' (we have not been asked to... yet). There is no option to enter or edit though.
I read somewhere that you will need to enter API info if it's a Thomas Cook flight which it is - Gran Canaria on 28th June from Leeds Bradford.

API is a requirement for all flights. Thomas Cook have been experiencing a few problems with their API website however, so you may need to keep trying. If all fails, you can provide the information at check-in but it really needs to be supplied beforehand.
Darren
I'm afraid that you need to book your seats for both outbound & inbound journeys. As for the API, I can't help you with that as the destination we are going to "seemingly" doesn't require it as yet.
Best wishes.
