From what Ive read on livethedreamliner.co.uk and a few other sites, economy seating on Thomsons Dreamliners will be in a 3-3-3 configuration with a 34" seat pitch. All seats will have seat back HD IFE and broadband access apparently also. There is also going to be a bar dishing out complimentary fruit smoothies and bottled water (i'll beleive it when I see it too!)

Personally I dont give a damn about any more legroom as long as then seats are wider than they are now on the ex TOM/BY 767's in standard!

If they've only got 34" legroom that will be the end of our longhaul travels with Thomson.

Why???? thats more than several airlines offer in premium economy. and if they use the slimline Recaro seats they usually favor that will effectively give another inch or so legroom

if you want more legroom then you can always fly business or first class with one of the scheduled airlines if the budget allows but i would rather spend the cash on enjoying my holiday than give it to the airlines...
think yourself lucky that european airlines do not offer min allowed seat pitch which is 24 inches

Me too ....... was looking into booking a long haul flight for next years holiday, but think I will be holding off until next year when, hopefully, will hear more regarding Premium.

lol. Hubby couldn't even get his legs in the space. And why should I think myself lucky? If that was the case it would no a no brainer. Either fly business class or not fly!

If you had legs the length my husband has you would understand. If he has a standard short haul seat he has to sit with his legs sideways with feet sticking out into the aisle. Not good for someone that's had a PE so we ususally try to get a flight with extra legroom seats at the front of the cabin .
He is only just alright with 36" on longhaul but 37" is better.
I would rather spend the money to upgrade on schedule than have him uncomfortable and in danger of putting his health at risk. It's just a cost that would have to be factored into the overall holiday price when deciding where to go.

Glammy,

BHX-TCP-BHX (TOM382/3) are operated by a Boeing 757-200.

pat,

There are no plans as yet that I've heard of to withdraw the premium service from Thomson flights. Premium seating is still on sale for summer 2011, but this is if course subject to review as the tax situation is under review (although unlikely to change).

pat,

It's under the long haul section of the Thomson Airways part, the bottom of the paragraph.

Thomson plan to continue to sell premium an it will be reviewed only for the B787 arrival although prices have increased to cover the rise in tax

Thanks Darren .... found the info.

If you can afford business class with a scheduled airline then lucky you! I'll join you in a few years I hope!

But 34" in an economy seating cabin is not to be sniffed at, and far better than what even most of the worlds so called 5 star rated airlines offer for that class!

Im sure Thomson will keep and gain a fair few customers if they continue down the path they are following with their long haul flights, just sort the short haul ones out please!!!

I realise that 34" is quite generous but for the other half it really is not sufficient on a long fllight, and don't get me started on short/medium haul 28".

critchley1987,

MAN-VRA-MAN (TOM172/3) this summer were operated by an ex-FCA 76W. However that's not to say it will be next summer (but likely to be). I'll get S11 schedules in about February, but won't get specific aircraft details until May. Would it not be better choosing your holiday based on the destination / hotel rather than aircraft? I know the flight is an important consideration, but is it more important than the destination / hotel?
