MAN-SFB-MAN (TOM158/9) are operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER (winglets). You'll find aircraft details including seat plans, IFE, cabin and aircraft photos on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

767 300 series Extended Range (ER) version 1 (v1) has 258 seats and version 2 (v2) has 323 seats. Just different layouts of the same cabin.
Winglets are vertical extensions (anything up to eight feet) at the end of the wing that improve fuel consumption by about 5%; most Boeing aircraft seem to be having them fitted (or retro fitted) at the moment.

Long haul is usually Boeing 767 version 1 with 258 seats.

Nearly, but not quite! The ex-FCA V1 and V2 cabins both have 258 seats. The layouts are slightly different due to previous owners of the aircraft where the emergency exits are in different positions and the premium cabin is slightly different. Same number of seats though. Then there's the 283 seat ex-TOM long haul, and 328 ex-TOM short haul. Seating plans are on our What Aircraft? guide. It's too early to know the exact configuration for flights in July 2011, we'll know from May. I posted details of the benefits of winglets and why they are installed here.

Seat Width question

due to be flying from manchester to holguin cuba soon, Tom108/Tom109. I believe this is a ex first choice 767-300ER as the seat selection is showing a 2-3-2 config. Trying to decide on which seats to select and as I am traveling which someone who is on the larger side of things i am trying to find out the seat widths which is not available anywhere that i can find (width not pitch) i believe i read somewhere they are 17.8in wide but i cant find that info any more.

Also if i chose a window seat would that give more room to the side of the seat and the window when the arm is raised?

Seat widths are approximately 17.8". Seat pitch is the same (33") on all rows other than the exit / emergency exit rows. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the choice of meals are that they're currently serving on longhaul in Premium? Am on TOM046 from LGW to SFB on 9th October :)

Thanks,

The arm rests next to the window are unable to be lifted. Only the middle and aisle arm rests can be raised on the 767's

Evening Darren,

Do you know which 757 is operating LGW-LPA (TOM4126) tomorrow morning?

As always, thanks for your help; very much appreciated.

I note from the press here in Qatar that the Dreamliner has futher delays time Thomson Airways dropped it for the A330 so they can get rid of the 767s.
Reply
I knew the Dreamliner has been delayed again and that All Nippon wouldn't be receiving their first until early 2011, but haven't heard anything about Thomson's not going ahead with their order for 2012.

They havent my post says Time they did!!.As a few more airlines will if it keeps getting delay after delay.

Trouble is a order for new A330's wouldnt come until 2013-14 with the current orders so there wouldnt really be any benefit and it doesnt suit the range requirements of the tour operator

May I start by stating that the advice given on this particular thread seems to be execeptionally well sourced, and offer my admiration to those contributors who have taken the time and effort over the past few years to reply to the myriad of queries from punters like me who are keen to ascertain as to which aircraft will fly them to their chosen destination, and which seats to secure on the same to allow for the best start and finish to their holiday.

In light of the above, it is possible to please let me know as to which model of 767 will be used to operate TOM 108 departing Manchester 16th January 2011 to La Romama?

Additionally, we will be flying in premium economy, and booked our trip in January 2010. As there are two of us, we are keen to secure a window and an aisle seat. Is there any truth that it is the policy of Thomson to allocate such seats on a `first come first served basis`or is it the case that none are allocated until 90 days prior to the return sector ( by phone), or 60 days via the website.

We have always managed to in the past to get these seats, however I just want to do my homework and in advance so as ensure that we get them again!

Many thanks, and keep up the good work.

At the moment it looks likes its going to be an ex FCA B767 at the moment, you can go online 2 months before and select your seats in the premium cabin with your booking ref at http://flightextras.thomson.co.uk so its not a lottery anymore which is good
