gw49,

Your flights (MAN-MBJ-MAN, TOM172/3) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. 6 weeks is the norm for booking seats on long haul.

Hi Darren

I spoke to Thomsonfly as its a package holiday with them. They are still convinced it's a 757!!. I believe you guys more as you have a interest and not someone just sitting in front of a computer screen. There seating plan comes up as a 757 and they are seating people accordindly!!. My concern is the 737 takes more than 50 people less than the 757, how are we all going to get on?.

At this very moment i don't care about the extra legroom just as long as i get on the plane!!

I've sent a email too, wonder if i will get a reply!!?

Thanks again

kirsty12,

As I mentioned before, I can only give you the information that I have on my screen. Like wise with those who you've spoken to. All the information I have suggests it's a 738 as the 752's aren't even scheduled to be operating out of STN this summer. All I can suggest it they've swapped an aircraft for the day and it's not showing up on our systems.

Darren,

would you happen to know why the boeing 757-200 has such a long landing gear compared to other aircraft?

No-one probably knows but oh well.

thanks

I'm sure Boing do! Things are designed or a reason.

It's quite simple really, ground clearance. The longer the aircraft and bigger the engines, the more ground clearance it needs generally. When the aircraft rotates at take off, the main landing gear acts as a hinge. If the landing gear was too short, when the aircraft rotates (typically 10-12 degrees pitch up), the tail would hit the ground.

PS as I mentioned on the Monarch thread, you might want to refer to aviation forums for discussion about aircraft in general.

Hi Darren
I messaged you on saturday regarding my early morning flight on friday to Naples. you said that the previous flight to mine (for me to check delays) was MAN-PMI-MAN (TOM2438/9) unless another aircraft positions in (not sure what this means, sorry)
do you know if its still this same flight before mine to Naples on Friday morning?
Thanks for your help.

daz1971,

What I meant was, sometimes an aircraft will 'position' in from another airport to operate a flight, for example if it was operating a flight from say Newcastle, it would come empty to operate your flight. Looking at the schedule, the one I mention is the most likely from the based aircraft to operate your flight.

Morning Darren

This may be a long shot, is it possible they may have changed the flight because it's half term?. First holiday of the year etc, schools are only off for a week?. I'm clutching at straws now :think

Sorry for all my flapping :(

Thanks :cheers
