Hello,
Just wanted to update everyone that my Flight yesterday TOM196 was very good. The pilot was very informative and got us out of some bad turbulence. The legroom was no where near as bad as I was expecting us to endure for the flight and there was a full long haul entertainment system on the aircraft which made time fly.

G-OBYE was the aircraft and I have to say after all the worrying the legroom isn't that bad, I think because you have all the other features you forget about it.
Only downside to the flight was the crew which diddnt smile once throughout the whole flight!

Ill write a longer review when I get back from holiday as for now ill speak to you all soon.

Hi guys,

We're flying TOM142 MAN to MBA next week (30/07).

Does anyone know where the aircraft is coming from inbound to MAN so we can check on status?

Thanks in anticipation.

JL-LIV,

The flight that goes on to operate MAN-MBA-MAN (TOM142/3) comes in from Montego Bay, Jamaica (TOM172/3)

MAN-VRA-MAN (TOM174/5) are operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-300/ER (G-OBYJ). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide. It's not the aircraft itself that generally causes discomfort, it's the seating the airlines choose to install in them. You should have a comfortable enough flight to VRA.

Hello Dazbo

first off, I've really been enjoying your reports on airliners. Very interesting!

I'm flying on TOM 118 to PMI from NCL on Mon 24 AUG ca you tell me whether or not this is an ex-FCA aircraft and what type?

thanks in advance!

z.j.c,

Glad to see you arrived safe and sound. You should be relaxing by the pool with a tequila, not posting here! Given you travelled on a former long haul aircraft, I wouldn't have expected anything other than the long haul IFE to be available for your flight. See you in 2 weeks!

We're on flight TOM 1714/5 Newcastle to Larnaca 30th Aug/6th Sep. Just wondering if anyone has managed to Select a Seat on these dates yet. I've been trying for weeks and the call centre give me different information every time I phone. Is there a way to get to speak to someone who really knows what's going on?
Thanks

Ginaw,

You're a little early yet, seating is normally uploaded on to the system 4 - 6 weeks before your departure date. Try again at the end of the month. Your flights are operated by a Boeing 757-200, you'll find a seating plan on our What Aircraft? guide.

Darren

PS I don't mind at all Gower!

Thanks Darren. I have received so many different replies from people in the call centre, I'm sure they are not to blame but would prefer it if they just said they had no idea rather than fob me off with different answers. It is less than 6 weeks before we go now so it is within the 4-6 week bracket. I'm sure people on this forum have managed to book more than 7 weeks before (I can't find the posts now but I know I've seen some). So far I've spent over £9 in phone calls as there are only 2 seats I'd be prepared to pay extra for and I wanted to get in first!!

Thanks again

Ginaw,

Flights tend to get uploaded in batches so it could be anytime within the 4 - 6 week window, that's why I suggest you leave it until the end of the month. Some flights were uploaded 6 or 7 weeks prior in resdiness for the summer rush, but that seems to have been a one-off.
