Dream on you have been told wrong go back to however told you and tell them to get there facts straight the 787 has only just made its maiden flight and will not be in service at the earlist mid 2011.
Are you sure you do not mean 767 if so Ex first choice is 2-3-2 Ex Thomsom is 2-4-2
welcome onboard
The Boeing 787 was supposed to be in service 2 years ago. However, development delays at Boeing has meant the type is currently in flight testing and only made it's maiden flight on 15th December 2009. Flight testing is expected to be complete by the 3rd quarter of 2010 with certificate of airworthyness granted soon after. Thomson Airways are set to get airframe number 46 sometime around April or May 2011, subject to any further production delays. You won't be on the 787 I'm afraid. You don't give where you are flying from or your flight numbers so I can't check the aircraft schedule for you. Please always provide full flight details, or at least flight numbers when asking for aircraft details so we can give you the correct information. There's often multiple flights. As snowyboy mentions, your flights are operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find further aicraft details including seating plans on our What Aircraft? guide (see below). If you let us have your flight information, we can let you know if it'll be a former Thomsonfly or First Choice aircraft. If you've already looked on Thomsons online seat selection website and the seating plan is given as 2-3-2, it'll be a former First Choice aircraft in the 258 seat configuration.

Sorry seem to have cut myself off. I am trying to find out what aircraft i will be flying on flying from Gatwick to La Romana on Sunday 14th March flight number TOM 022. Am trying to find out whether it is an ex first choice or ex thomson aircraft as the seat plans are different. Hope you can help.
Hi all, I'm heading out to ACE ex LGW TOM4208 on 23/02/10 and back a week later, any idea what a/c type.
Refer to your post above. LGW-LRM-LGW (TOM022/3) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER, as suspected.
Darren
Welcome onboard
LGW-ACE-LGW (TOM4208/9) are operated by a Boeing 737-800 (winglets). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (see below).

Thank you Darren, I'm well chuffed with that a/c type, I had visions of 4 hours of hell on an ex FCA 757
Manchester to Montego Bay 16th May TOM 136, Montego Bay to Manchester TOM 137 30th May.
Any idea this soon if it's an ex-FCA or Thomson? I realise it's subject to any last minute change - happened last time I flew out of Manchester... was supposed to be an ex-FCA but wasn't with the result that there were more than a few unhappy premium class passengers sitting at the back with the rest of us mere mortals .
Also, while I'm on and even now thinking of destinations for next year, and I know it's well in advance but are there any plans for the first routes and bases for the Dreamliner?
Cheers
We won't know for sure which configuration it'll be until the first week of May. The winter season doesn't finish until the end of April and your flights are in the summer season so things may change between now and then. Flights are currently operated by the former Thomsonfly fleet of 767-300/ER's. I don't think routes will be assigned to the 787 yet, they need a firm delivery date first! The base will be either MAN or LGW, MAN preferably!

Hi all going to mexico on 6th april and just wondering whether it will be an ex 1st choice or thomsonfly aircraft we will be flying on the flight numbers are tom074 and tom075, also is it to early for the entertainment to have been released yet.
Your flight (TOM074/5) will be operated By a Boeing 767-300/ER (ex First Choice)

Thanks Darren. You have put my mind at rest about my choice of seats. Website i went on where you put in your flight number and it shows the plan have obviously got it wrong. ChrissyR
My vote wil go to Manchester
I guess I'll know more in a couple of months when I can log into select your seat (nice new addition to First Choice holidays). I'll be able to get closer to the front on a Thomson.

can i just ask, wen i looked at the details for the plane, it states that it has 12 premium seats
now wen we first booked we were assured that we could upgrade to premium class.
upon paying for our holiday 2 days ago we were told that there was no premium class seats on the plane
the reason i am asking this is that we nearlyl always fly premium class due to having a disabled partner and the extra seat pitch makes it more comfortable and we couldn't book extra leg room due to having a disability.
Now upon speakin to thomson this am, again was told no premium seats but we could hav a medical seat, which is just the same as a normal seat, so they have booked us in Row 2 A+B
Could you please clarify this for me
cheers again for your help
On short haul, even though they are classed as premium seats, they are really just extra legroom (33" as oposed to 28"). These were on rows 1 and 2. As far as I know, they haven't been removed and are still available but are also designated medical seats. They were introduced under First Choice, wouldn't surprise me if Thomson decided to remove them though! They do get booked up quickly so may simply be unavailable.
Daren
cheers for that darren
