The 787-8 are to be configured with 47 Premium Club seats and 244 Economy Club seats. The current ex-FCA 763's have 63 premium economy seats and 195 economy, the ex-TOM 31 premium economy and 252 economy. If the ex-TOM are reconfigured with 47 premium club seats, ie 3 more rows of premium will be needed to give enough seats, it'll give approximately 228 economy seats so that's not enough to cover the economy cabin. The only way I can see it working is if seat pitch in economy is reduced to say 31" so 2 more rows can be added to economy to give an extra 16 seats, giving 244 economy seats. Not ideal, but there may not be a lot of option.
The above is not to be taken seriously, we'll have to wait until March when a decision is being made and those on effected flights should be notified.
