Sorry, debspink64, I missed your question (I normally look only at the Daily Express postings - guess why!).
Yes, I was on that cruise. There were two unruly groups - one drank loads and talked all through the evening performances - and were aggressive if anyone complained (it was those that were put off in Morocco, where the departure was delayed).
The other was a Danish group. One man was particularly noticeable at meal times (especially breakfast) as he was invariably drugged up - and his wife and children were very embarrassed.
This man made a habit of diving fully-clothed in to the children's pool and frightening them. His wife had to get him out and wring his clothes!
Incidentally, on luggage: the cabin attendants advised me that I could break the seal at the quayside and have it replaced. This I did without problem (a bigger problem was damage to my case).
Sorry again for not replying earlier.
Anyone going on the Destiny on 5th January 07 on the Colourful Coasts?? I just hope the weather is ok............ as we did the Emerald back in May this year and had three days of rain
There is one destination I have mixed feelings about.......... Agidair in Morocco. I am taking my 14 year old daughter and I am told when off the ship she will probably be pestered?? Anyone got any views on this?? Also the last two cruises we have done with Thomsons there haven't been any kids of her age to hang out with........... I heard some talk where there is a first day meet up for Teenagers of her age and hopefully they gel from there, but we have never seen hide nor hair of it when on the ships.
Any advice appreciated.
Debbie
If you use the search facility, put in Agadir and the Cruise forum and select posts you will find all previous discussion on it.
Hope you have a great cruise and look forward to reading your trip report on your return.

Thanks for the reply, there seems to be more negitive feedback than good on walking around Agadir. I would hate to think my daughter was constantly hassled. I may opt for the organised tour to Marrakesh! My husband once went on a 2 week holiday to Agadir about 16 years ago and he said we would be hassled. He said even the children in the streets hang on your arm begging? Also people offer drugs, mmm doesn't sound very appealing.
I think this time I'm going to take sea sickness tablets with me! As we have never sailed at this time of year and apparently it can become a little rough??
Can anyone recommend a good brand of tablet to buy??
Thanks
Debbie
We both took Stugeron and had no problems at all. Hubby had taken it ever since and has never been seasick again.
luci
Thanks for your reply...... Can you get these tablets from Boots?? Maybe a worthwhile investment!
Yes a work Colleague did a cruise in September and for the first time had sea sickness crossing the Bay of Biscay!!! She had done many in the past without a problem!!! This is why I like to fly to the destination, rather than going from Southampton The thought makes me feel sick!
January is a dodgy time though to cruise i think But we thought it would be nice after the Christmas festivities. We have lots of other hobbies in the summer, so gives us a chance to continue with those.
Debbie
Yes you can get them from Boots no problem or any pharmacist. If you have a good relationship with your local pharmacist, you may even get the generic version cheaper which I think is called cinnerazine.
I am cruising on 5th January and have just got my tickets. After looking at the prices of the excursions, thought I might try doing DIY. My last two cruises I said I would do DIY, but in the end, I booked a lot of excursions, which bumped up my cruise on board account quite a lot Anyone got any good advice on doing it DIY??
I would not recommend DIY in Agadir! We saw so many people arguing with the taxi drivers outside the ship. As soon as we docked the taxis arrived like ants! All other ports are easy to DIY. Hope you enjoy the cruise as mich as we did in october.
Yes this is the one day that we will do an organised trip in Agadir my husband has been here quite a few years ago for a two week holiday and he did warn me of the pestering and begging. We would love to do the Marrakesh trip but it is 12 hours it's a long trip and probably quite trashing! Mmmm still need to think about this though, I would like to do it, but depends on my daughter (not much fun for her).
It's only just hit me that I go tomorrow This will be my third Thomson cruise in 18 months! on 3 different ships! Aaaah can't wait!
Debbie
PS. Will post my review when I get back
I,m so envious! wish it was me going tomorrow!
The 12 hour trip was exhausting according to a couple of people we met who went on it. We did the afternoon trip to the horse show and medina. It had not rained for a long time but it threw it down when we got there!!
The snake charmers and acrobats had to perform indoors.
Also, if the itinery is still the same, Agadir is wednesday. Tuesday is the full day at sea and the Captain's Gala dinner. I don't know about you but we had quite a lot to drink during tuesday, day and evening, with being on the ship all the time and a 12 hour trip the next day would not have gone down well at all!!!!
Enjoy!
My daughter and her Friend (13) fancy this trip please can anyone advise on its suitability for the age group and if value for money many thanks Steve
Have seen some pretty dire posts re this stop please can you advise on the best excursions for 2 adults and two teenage (13 years old) gilrls, yoyr help and advise would be appreciated Steve
I have merged your posts with an existing topic on the Thomson Destiny. You may find some useful information in earlier posts.

Are you talking about the Marrakesh trip? We decided not to do this one for the whole day.
When we docked in Morroco a couple of weeks ago, my husband, myself and daughter (14yrs old) did a half day afternoon trip called Morrocan highlights, we went to fantasia show, Medina shopping and up the Casbah - this was a bit intimidating as the locals wait for you to get off the coach and hassle you to hold a baby goat for a photograph, then ask for money for the privilage! You are only up there for 15 mins though, but just be firm and say no thank you.
If you need any further info on the Colourful Coast itinerary, I will try and help.
Debbie
Thanks Debbie, Any info re trips would be appreciated plus do it yourself Really looking forward to it even with too teenagers lol Is the ship still rocking and rolling how was the seasickness any was any odf the crossing worse than another as the girls are really worried about it!!!!!
We will be doing our 3rd Thomson cruise on the Celebration this summer, having already been on the Destiny and Spirit.
When I suggested maybe we should go back to Florida next time I was met by a howl of protests. " I won't have any friends there". In other words, long term friendships are formed on board. Your kids will be chatting forever more to pals they met on this cruise by email, MSN etc. There is so much for them to do on board that you will not need to get off at ports where you don't wish to.
There are some that don't appeal to us this time, (North Africa )where we will be staying on board, soaking up the sun, eating, joining in the deck quizzes whilst a friendly waiter attends to our every whim.
You may sometimes experience the movement of the ship but you get used to it. We have only ever had one really rough day at sea. That was last year on the Spirit. Not pleasant but it passes. Take some Sturgeron with you.
I will get the Sturgeron thanks, yes it sounds great I hope my kids take to the life as easily as yours, the thought of it being a regular event really appeals thanks again Steve
My boys are 14 and 12- will there be facilities for these in the Summer hols onbosrd? We did a Thomson cruise in November before which we never took them on, hence booking another for this Summer?
As you say whenever we travel away they always make friends and as long as they are happy so are we
Sunseeker....Our Destiny cruise was the first one we ever went on and as we went with another family, I can't remember if they used the teens club. If I remember rightly, last year on the Spirit ,( and I imagine it would be the same on their other ships) there were 2 clubs, one for up to 12 and another for 13 upwards. My 12 year old was too old for the first and too young for the second so she pretended to be 13!!! to join her older sister.
