I have told HSBC insurance and they won't cover me for anything connected to the TIA. They won't extend the policy for an extra payment.
The Stroke Association (thought they might be a bit sympathetic) wanted £160 for A WEEK's cover (going to Tenerife in December. Insureandgo wouldn't touch it.
But better news - Direct Travel have offered me a week's cover for £38.10 and an annual policy for £136.50. My wife (no health problems and insured through her bank, the Co-op) and I go away three or four times a year so I think I will take up the annual policy. I'm going to see my account manager at HSBC (at her request) about my savings and I might well express my discontent at their "free" insurance.
Marvellous how different insurance companies react to health problems!
