Hey everyone to reading this I am new to this website.

But I tohught I would tell you a bit about me so you have an idea of what type of holiday I am looking for.

I am 25 years old, female, also single. I have had trouble trying to get my friends come away with boyfriends, money etc. So I have no decided I am going to go away on my own otherwise ill never get away again and have a life!!!

So I am looking at Turkey, going May/ June time. I was thinking of going for 2 weeks? When I would like to know advice from previous people that have been.

Also I was looking at staying at Gumbet / Bodrum.

I am looking to have a lazy holiday during the day but something quite lively or where I can go to bars etc to meet people. When I was thinking maybe any All Inclusive hotel would be better meeting people.

I would like any advice weather postive or Necative? Or if someone recomends me go somewhere else.

Thanks
Dani

It was played all the time in the bars well Faros anyway! anyone know the name of the song and who sings it, it is a new song not an old one.

Are you sure you haven't misheard the lyrics?

It sounds like it could be 'Begging You' by Madcon. If you could win an olympic gold in singing the wrong lyrics then I would win hands down

** Edit - Sorry, but I have had to remove the lyrics which are protected by copyright. However Google is your friend. ;) luci HT Mod **

My first time in Turkey it was great.........loved sunbathing with my 2 girls in front of the beautiful blue sea......
We had booked for 7 days at the Blue Bays Deluxe Spa hotel in Marmaris on 22.10.08.....
Our flight was with Thomas Fly and it took about 4hrs flying as Turkey is 2hrs forward from U.K. The 3 of us arrived at Dalaman Airport at about 11.30pm ,the weather was warm and humid......We had to find our operator who was waiting for us at a boxed office.
As we approached Marmaris we could see beautiful hills filled with green, trees, bushes -up in the hills. It was a steep hill but as we drove down the hill all you could see was the beautiful blue sea and lighted up villages which looked fantastic from the hill top.
It took about 2 hrs to get to Marmaris after dropping off- half minibus of people to different hotels.
It was 1.20am when we arrived at the Blue Bays Deluxe and 2 seconds from the beach....We booked in and my 2 girls were hungrey so I asked customer service if they had any sandwhiches or anything else to eat.......Was told nothing, was not even offered water........ which i was very cross about because it supossed to be a 5 star hotel.......so my children ended up eating biscutes from uk........at 1.30am.But I slept it off as we were on our holidays...
When we got into our rooms there was only 2 single beds,so my girls had to sleep on 1 bed and me on the other.
In the morning I realised after looking at my paper work that we were in the wrong room and we had been booked in as BB only.......so i went to reception to complain, then the we changed to another room and given our wrist bands.
The holiday was lovely ,but the hotel let us down as it seemed like a 3star hotel.. no entertainment for the adults or kids...1 day belly dancing which was fun in the evening..........no kids club........ but..we made most of our holiday went out everyday, out and about of hotel to the seafront.....lovely and relaxing.....sunbeds free provided by your hotel......if you take other sunbeds you have to buy drinks first.
Vey friendly operators called Ziggy and Jo-jo,if you need a trip/tour or want advice to the right direction he is so helpful.
boat trip very relaxing stopped at 3 different places 10.00 till 4.45 free meal x3 chicken and salad for £10.00
Water slides for the kids near the beach paid £15.00 for the whole day.......missed Safari trip..
Didnt go to mud baths as I was told it was fun but very smelly, not adviced for the children
Turkish bath cost me £25.00 at the hotel,it was relaxing and soothing.... but was told i could have got it for £8.00 out side hotel.
In the evenings go down to the beach watch the sun go down which is amazing and the blue sea.......take a walk or go the night clubs...... bar...plenty of entertainment there......
Turkish people very friendly and helpful, they accept £ and turkish pounds, very flexiable.......got a better rate at local shops if you want to change money.
We missed the small markets in MaRMARIS WHICH was on Wednesdays and the 1 in Iclemer.. much cheaper goods there I was told...........Big Market shops in the Town centre open all the time but more expensive but you have to hagle ;) for the prices which was very funny.........a lot of cheap designer goods well worth the price if your on a buget..Happy Sopping round.... :rofl
I think I would go back to Marmaris again but not All-In at this Hotel...It is ok if you drink , worh the money not if you dont drink .......Breakfast 8am-10oclock-----Dinner 12-2.00 ------Snack 2.30-3.30 chips and chicken nugts....... 4.30 tea.cakes..............7pm-dinnner......... a variety of food more salads cut in different ways .drinks till 11.30 at bar ......eat as much as you like and drink all day if you want. The food is fine if your not a fussy eater.........plent of shops and bars outside the hotel ...eat out for about £5.00 worth money...
We made new friends all the time at the hotel whom we will miss.......Marmaris is for the children, old, young and in the middle, we saw all sorts of ages enjoying the long walks across the long beach, sunbathing, swimming and enjoying the environment, making most of their holiday...there is lots to do in this lovely Town ,,if you went out every day you will still find trips and lots to do......... :cry we were sad to leave the town and hopefully we will defin go again.....Marmaris here we come hurry :tup
No ice-cream for the kids very dissaPONTING........only outside pool open ......indoor pool very smelly.....
You have to check out at 12.00 in the afternoon on 27-10-08 even though our pick up was for 6.45pm and our flight was 12.20 am.............had to sit in the waiting area or lobby because we had no room.........and the hotel will not give you packed lunch for the kids ...........best to prepare food or buy from shops.........before you leave.... as it was about 6hrs before we got on our flight before picking other passangers from other hotels.....Sad to leave Marmaris....
