This has probably been answered before, but can you please tell me what the time difference is in Turkey?

We are going for the first time in September and are staying at the WOW Bodrum Resort. Also, can you tell me what time it will get dark in the evening.

Many thanks

Jane

Turkey is 2 hours ahead of the UK, in September it will probably get dark at around 8pm.

I'm sure you will love Turkey, I used to live in Gumbet and have seen the WOW resort, it looks lovely. Do have a wander around Gumbet and Bodrum though, it is so nice there.

Have a good trip

Thank you Kedi.

Can you recommend any tours/excursions we could go on whilst we are there, as we would like to see a bit of the country.

Thanks

Good days out are a boat trip, costs about £10 including lunch and you visit several different bays for swimming, sunbathing etc. a really relaxing day out. Also for a bit of an adventure try a jeep safari, they take you inland and you see wonderful scenery, it is great fun. If you fancy going a bit further you can visit Ephesus or Pamukale, both very interesting. For a good half day tour there is a village tour, you go to a small village and have a look aorund and have some lunch. You can book any of these in Gumbet at any of the travel agencies, they are all reasonably priced and are insured.

Hello I am afraid I did not like Turkey at all just because of the constant hassle by restaurant staff, bar staff, shop people not so bad. Turkey as a country is lovely and lots to see but every time we walked past a restaurant or bar we were hassled to come in and eat or have a drink and when you say no thank you they seem to take offence so I am afraid I will never go there again. We were eating in a quiet restaurant which we found and thought we were safe until after the meal, the owner asked if we had money, of course we did thinking he thought we were doing a bunk! nope he wanted us to buy one of his apartments. Such a shame as it has put me off totally.

p.s. This was when I went to Altinkum.

marie - you don't say what resort you went to

I was in Marmaris in June and the lack of hassle in the bazaar was so strange. I could actually walk through without being stopped! It was so out of character I was tempted to walk up to some of the shop keepers, shake their hands and say
'Hi, I'm from England, please sell me something!'
I think this lack of hassle is great for the tourists who are worried by the pestering.
Back to Marmaris 2nd October - 4th time this year. :)

Hi marria I stopped in the hibiscus 1 & 2 last year & yes they do have a kettle & fridge. I loved it there but was too expensive to go back this year im so jealous of you :rofl . It takes you about 20/30 mins to walk to the beach front but there are plenty of shops, Bars, restaurants etc very close to Hibiscus. We didnt find the need to venture down the front as we prefered it round where we were stopping. Hope you have a brill holiday . :sun2

Hi
I`m just back 4 days ago from a really fantastic 2 wks in Altinkum , Like a previous writer I was in Marmaris First time in turkey in may this year and didn`t like all the Hassling from the bars shops etc etc i was with a friend on holiday and thought I wouldn`t go back to turkey but at the end of july i was signed of my work with fatique & exhaustion through work related stress and thought to myself go and book a holiday for 2 wks and the only place i could get was Altinkum and i was a bit wary as i was going myself but i booked it anyway and i posted on here that i was a bit wary and someone answered telling me to go Sonia`s Cafe as she was English and she would give me hints & tips on where to go and not go which i did and if the person who told me to go there reads this I would like to say A Big Thanks for sharing that with me as Sonia heped me a lot and she is a real good laugh also if anyone knows Lorraine & Paul owners of the The North Star Cafe/Bar as they were so lovely they introduced me to all their friends to which I felt as though I was one of their friends by the time I left Everyone was a real good laugh They all made my holiday so memoriable I can`t wait to go again hopefully soon.
I would like to say i really cant believe that i was wary on going back to turkey now i just want to go there all the time . :tup
