Well as it happens, we're doing a slot tournament at Orleans that includes three nights in the $99 entrance fee. Buffet reception at the start and banquet for winners at the end. I don't expect to get to the winner's banquet, but it's good to dream. I've never done a slot tournament before, so it should be fun.
I really do think that the offer I booked with Excalibur was an error of some sort. It was only up for a few days, but they haven't rescinded it, so we're going for it.
I'm thinking I'll actually miss moving around this time, but who knows?
I noticed the Orleans slot tournaments, but there were none on when we are there...you know how we're only going for 15 nights
Well.....have just booked our first 7 nights in September. Was checking the Harrahs hot deals and saw that we are comped for 5 out of the 7 nights at Rio so we've booked it. Just have to pay for the weekend which is $340. Will probably go Signature for the second week and book nearer the time to try to get it a bit cheaper.
Went and checked the site to see if I had any comps (had some last September but couldn't use them as there were 6 of us), nothing I'm afraid. It's giving me $45 per night for 13th September for 4 nights, then $120 for the fifth night I need for the Rio, but I'm not totally jumping at that. Other hotels are pricey on the 17th. MGM's rates are a bit high for that week too for some reason.
Still not sure what to do, got a deal for Excalibur today which was quite good too - have posted in on the Hotels thread if anyone is interested. Rates from $24.
Cheers Lesley, Yeah, I wasn't too put off by the weekend rates there because I looked at several hotels for that weekend and they all seem a bit more expensive than usual so I guess something must be going on. Am happy just to be getting some comps!
Of course! I'm just not happy that I'm not getting comps
There are a lot of conventions on that week in September. The Fall Las Vegas Market is expecting 55,000 attendees (although the World Market Centre seems to have dropped the Fall date and only included Summr & Winter?). Glass Build America - 10,000 attendees True Value Company Market Fall - 20,000 attendees so maybe that accounts for higher prices?
55,000 attendees is an average size convention, but not massive by Vegas standards. 10,000 and 20,000 are relatively small conventions and shouldn't impact on your visit unless you are staying at or near where the convention is being held.
Cheers Ladies, they must have added those conventions since I booked my flights a few months back as there was nothing over 14,000 planned when I booked.
We have just got back from a week in Philadelphia which was outstanding and although we desperately wanted to have a further two weeks in September in the US, the house has taken priority, so we have a 10 day cheap to Zakynthos lined up and then those 6 days/nights in Vegas for my birthday
Flight prices are not great at the moment but we will leave booking them for a bit anyway. Initial hotel checks showed up a cracking Excalibur $24 deal which has now expired, but I'm sure will be back at some point and a decent Mirage deal for $77 most of our nights. I think we will just aim to get something booked up and keep looking. I'm happy with anything to be honest, the less spent on hotel, the more to spend elsewhere. Excalibur would do me. There is a deal for Luxor also which is good value, it might be a tempter to go back into the Pyramid again.
Watch this space!
Our house is sort of taking priority this year too, well our new house is! We've bought another house and have put our own on the market now, so it's going to be a very busy time since we get our keys to the new house early August, just a month before our Vegas trip! And we have kitchens and carpets etc to think about! So we should really be budgeting out trip a bit better too, hopefully things won't be too tight. Glad we have already ordered our $, meaning we don't have to spend much more on the trip if we don't want to.
If you find any offers, can you post them in the Vegas Hotels thread? I haven't found any decent offers to post for ages.

I am tempted by the MGM deal. It's a quite expensive $160 for the Saturday, but the other 5 nights are $76, $76, $76, $55 & $55 which include 2 for 1 daily buffet, 2 for 1 drinks at the 4 bars (all of which are excellent, well maybe not so much the West Wing but the other 3 are), 2 for 1 Studio 54 or Tabu and 2 for 1 fitness center (yeah right!!!).
Then again we've stayed at the MGM the last two visits and quite fancy a change. I've even looked at the Prima card at the MGM to see if that could tempt me also but I don't really know. Also tempted by the Mirage 3 for 2 nights but I really am not impressed by the $15 resort fee!!
Of course there is always the chance of a split stay........!!!
Options galore. Hotel might be booked this week if we can decide but it will be on a cancellable rate for sure!!!

I have just posted the 222 offer again as it keeps getting extended. However the Celebrity Spa Suite I have booked for $389 for 4 nights including 2 weekend nights is now $952!!!

We booked the Excalibur Widescreen Room for our stay in November in the end. It's $80 on the Saturday, followed by $40 the rest of the time which suits us with our plans for the year. I was tempted by the standard Tower which was dirt cheap at $60, followed by $24 for the rest but we thought we'd treat ourselves(!) and the newer bed and general niceness in the Widescreen room will be a bonus.
Of course with Vegas and cancellable rates this could all change but I doubt we'll beat that. The only thing we might opt for is a split stay (3 & 3) but I don't know if I can be bothered with moving, but if we did it would probably be to the Mirage.
November seems ages away though. Not even going to bother with flights at the moment.
Vegas here we come....again!!!

They have 4 nights at the Bellagio, including flights for £487pp in their special offers. An excellent deal!

TeeCee, sounds like a good deal for someone!
Still haven't booked my other nights. We're definitely moving house now, get our keys on 3rd August, and hopefully will get our own sold and hand keys over before the end of August (Vegas on 3rd September). We're going to be exhausted by the time we go, and also we're going to have to be rather organised with coupons etc before the 3rd August since after that we'll be around doing up our new house and rather busy time it will be.
I was going to book the Twitter MGM deal for the Celebrity Spa. Showed hubby it on Thursday night and he thought it sounded good but didn't say whether to book or not. I looked yesterday morning and it was gone! I sort of feel I'd like a buffet deal like last year but maybe that's just not going to happen. All I've seen so far is 2/1 daily buffet deal - I assume then that we could buy one daily pass at around $40 and get the other free, however not sure if that's every day or just once per stay. Also they didn't have the celeb spa suite on those deals
So far we have Orleans for 5, Desert Rose for 5. I'm tempted to stay on at Desert Rose as well and just have a relaxing time. I'm thinking though that their pool is a bit small and also possibly chaotic. When we went there for a look on a past visit there were a lot of kids at the pool, anyone know when kids go back to school in the US?
Search the Vegas Hotels thread for the 222 offer as it has 2 free buffets, 2 free cocktails and 2 free nightclub passes. It keeps being extended and is currently set to end on 30 April. The CSS was available on it to start with, then it disappeared, but it was back when I checked yesterday.

Thanks Luci. I have seen twitter offers a few times, I will keep looking around for new offers. I wasn't realising it was so limited when I left it for a few days. It was probably the best we've seen so far, but it wasn't perfect as I'm after the free daily buffet passes every day of stay like last year, but haven't seen that around for a while. The 2 buffets offer is ok, I was even thinking about doing that one day from Desert Rose at $55. Would be worth it for the buffet and drinks then we could go use their pool for a bit. I don't know if I can be bothered going and checking in for one night (with minimal stuff leaving luggage at Desert Rose) just in case we can't get a room till 4pm etc and it ends up being a bit of a time waster. Dinner buffet is $26, so could be worthwhile just for the buffet and 2 drinks. I also wonder though what drinks would be available as free 'cocktails', I guess maybe it won't include what we call cocktails and they might want it to be a well drink? Caipirinhas at Centrifuge are about $11.
You can have any drink you want up to $14 value. If you go at Happy Hour you will get 2 drinks! However you don't normally get 2 cocktail, but you can get 2 beers or glasses of wine.
