aaahh
you have put me off that now
Here's is the show and buffet offer:-
http://www.nathanburton.com/offers.htm
I think the show tickets are pretty cheap. The website says from $34, but I'm certain you'll get them a lot less at Tix4Tonight.

I know what you mean about Flamingo buffet. We've done breakfast or lunch before and found it ok. That said I'd rather eat elsewhere really, but for some basics it's ok. I wonder if you can do the brunch with the show, or maybe the show isn't on at the weekends anyway (I assume you have to do buffet and show on same day).
I'm thinking it's perfectly passable for the price though.
On the buffet subject, lots of people hate the Sahara buffet but I actually quite like it! My favourite budget one though is the Orleans. Gold Coast's is ok too. And if out and about in the car I like Silverton and Red Rock (both reasonable).
he looks good
will give it a go at $24.95 it looks like the show is worth that on it's own
will post my feelings about the buffet when i get back
dag.
That's the game. Best to try it for yourself and make up your own mind.
Ah, I just checked my coupon as I was thinking it was $29.95 - sure enough my coupon does say that. I'll need to print the better coupon from Luci's link!! Thanks Luci!
We enjoyed Nathan Burton. Had VIP tickets and sat right at the front. There was no way we could figure out how he did it.
To all those off to Vegas in the coming weeks and months, have a great time! We are having (it's a hard life) to settle for Zakynthos and Budapest this year which is absolutely fine by me , it's been an interesting year and I really just need to chill so Monday morning can't come soon enough before we head off to Greece.
To get my Vegas fix I am currently watching American Casino on Travel & Living (check it out, from 2004 Green Valley Ranch), we saw it the first time round but there are some episodes we didn't catch. Good stuff!
Oh and the small matter of Brandon Flowers, "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" a song off his new solo album. Goosebumps!
Enjoy Vegas!
Ju
Did you get the job situation sorted? I believe you were on short hours.
Thanks for the info on Brandon Flowers. Will have to look out for that one. We saw the Killers in Vegas last September and they were ace.
luci
Yes, job sorted and now full time which is nice for the bank balance! Vegas was too much of a stretch for this year especially after going to Philly in March so we opted for a nice relaxing break in Zakynthos followed by a city break in Budapest. Should be fun. USA is back on next year, looking at Pacific Northwest (again) but whether my Wife will even contemplate a few days in Vegas is debatable but she is enjoying American Casino again so who knows?
Have a good time in Vegas!
Ju
Glad the job situation is sorted. Hope to see you on a thread entitled "Vegas in 2011???"
We hadn't seen the new city centre complex as they were still building last time we went. Wow what a fabulous place it was vitually empty when we went, so we managed to have a good look, some building work still going on bit of a trek to get to the Bellagio as walkway wasn't finished or lift access still under work. We got very exhausted as the temp was about 15 degrees above normal hitting about 100 plus every day so we could only do most things in stages.
One thing we were very impressed with the renovations of the Tropicana very bright and new pool and sunbathing area to open very soon.
Did all the other hotel views nothing else much had changed, we stayed in the Excalibur in between trips to Zion and Bryce canyons which were amazing.
Did notice though lots of empty rooms and the recession has hit vegas hard with jobs after talking to some of the waitressess, only a quarter of the food areas open still good though and tried to eat more or less healthy (even after some Krispy Kreme doughnuts)
Yes, also like Krispy Kreme....we were at Desert Rose in the middle of the trip and we bought some of the donut holes (my colleagues thought this was funny), they were in a box. I wish I bought more because then we moved to Trump and I couldn't find them anywhere. I know TI do KK, but every time we were near there was at night and I thought they might be closed.
Also agree on the Tropicana. I think it's becoming a valid option for us now, looks much much better. There were rumours a few years back that it would be next place to close, but I guess that's not on the cards now at all.
We didn't really do much in City Centre, just took the tram from Monte Carlo but I think we got off at Bellagio. I didn't realise at the time that Aria had a casino, so I wasn't thinking there was much to see in there, thinking it was just 'hotels'. I really didn't get that enthused by it all, it didn't feel terribly accessible or welcoming to me from the street, maybe that will improve as they finish the work out on the street.
They had a permanent kk in Excalibur so bit difficult and lots of new outlets, do you like Nathans one there as well one thing that had got better in the excalibur new chef on desserts(loads of tiramasu and cheesecakes was delic) Not that you go to vegas to eat!
Did you hit any of the retail outlets think we had to buy another suitcase, get all my underwear there as its only a fraction of the price at home(pardon any male readers) and the Levis store is always packed, and we got those Sketchers shape ups each as they were half the English price.
Have had to come back to no job at the moment(maybe something in the pipeline) so am a lady of leisure, with all this rain its making me even more depressed.
Anyway enough of that have all the nice photos and memories to look back on. linda
We did go to the shops. I also buy underwear there (male readers hopefully not reading by now lol), I like the maidenform stuff, not sure if you get it at home, but would be more expensive if you do. We did a bit of shopping, had taken an extra holdall with us, so just had to pay for the extra luggage on the flight home. The ones I was with bought the shape ups last year as they were new then I think. I'd bought the MBT ones at home last year earlier in the year and to be honest have hardly worn them. I'm prone to back problems, and should be out walking more, but I'm scared I do myself any damage with the shoes.
Hope it wasn't a distressing sudden thing with the job, and hope something works out for you soon on that. It's a good time of year to get work (after xmas could be much worse!), so hopefully you will be sorted soon.
Have flown various routes - direct Man to Las with bmi (before they pulled the route - good); man to PHL then Las with US Airways - excellent. Man to Atl to Las with Delta - Delta were all right but Atlanta airport is horrendous, BA man to Heathrow to Phoenix - great after two diversions one to Frobisher on Baffin island and a landing on a short runway in icy conditions and the a diversion to Detroit for crew hours reasons, arriving Phoenix 25 hours late
Have stayed elsewhere - Stardust twice, Circus Circus once before, Key Largo years ago off strip before it was pulled down and it was really good, and also barbary Coast before it was taken over - and it was very good but no pool.
Look out for cheap eats, especially the buffets. Are going to try Silverton this time and tes, we like the sahara buffet as well - if anyone has ideas for cheap buffets would gladly receive them.
Weather forecast has thundery showers for Thurs and Fri.
With a car go to Pahrump Vineyard - lovely place and nice people who run it and let you taste some nice wines. Last time we tried to find Ethel M's chocolate factory and catus garden but failed. will try again this time. also hope to go to laughlin this time Rocktoberfest.
Hope you have a great time Mal!
if anyone has done Man - Las with Thomas Cook any comments?
I can only give my opinion, (and of course (as the US forums say) YMMV) but nowadays I avoid Thomas Cook's direct Vegas flights like the proverbial plague ( and we're in Vegas 3 - 4 times a year)
The single best thing about it is - it's direct, so no changing.
Seats are cramped, IFE so -so , and the food (which they have the cheek to charge extra for) is (to us, anyway) uneatable. (In fact the last time we used them ( and I emphasise LAST) we bought sandwiches and drinks in Boots at the airport and ate far better than those who had paid.
Oh, and finally, the baggage allowance is meagre.
Give me Virgin Atlantic anytime ( not perfect, but soooo mcuh better than TC)
We are staying at the excalibur again and then going off to Death Valley for a few days.
So here we go again.
Best regards to everyone for a lovely Xmas and New Year.
