I have read that visa from UK is £10 or $15
I think its more expensive if you arrive from Republic Of Ireland.
Can anyone confirm this and if so, do you know how much one from ROI is ??

If you decide to stay within the Sinai and not get a visa, but then a few days later change your mind in resort, your reps can get you one within 24 hours!!!

Hi,
I am returning to Egypt (Luxor) in September 07, and I was Planning to get the visa at Luxor airport whenI arrive. Can someone tell me the latest price (I believe it's £15).
Also,(I normally get my visa before I go) do I need a passport style photo, or is it a case of just filling the for and paying the amount?

many thanks in advance

Anti, if you're getting the visa when you arrive, you just have to fill out the landing card as normal. Then take your passport to the visa booth (or whatever system they have there now) and they will stick a couple of stamps in once they have your money. No photos are required.

Thanks Everest, I believe the visa price is £20 per single vist.
The reason I asked about he visa was because I kept getting page not found from the Egyptian embassy for an application form, since I posted the question I have found a contact number and have asked for a form to be sent to me.
thanks for responding.

You shouldn't need a Visa - unless the boats land in Ras Mohammed - even then maybe not...

Hi All

We are travelling to Makadi bay next Friday, can you please let me know if we need a visa and if we can get it for £20 like you can when flying to Sharm?

Thanks
Lou

Makadi Bay is on the coast of 'Egypt-proper', so you will need a Visa. Only the Gulf odf Aqaba coast is Visa free.
Buy at the airport, should be $15, 20-quid is a bit much..

I have been reading the visa thread, but could we go to the egyptian embassy and get our visas before we travel. I work fairly close to there and could easily do this in a lunch hour and return to collect after work or the next day. Has anyone done this and found it easier?

Why bother?

Looking HERE, it looks as though you have to supply...
- two passport photographs
- valid national passport & one copy
- original of valid resident visa
- confirmation letter from your health insurance stating coverage & one copy
- proof of group travel/ hotel booking in Egypt/ airline reservation for Egypt & one copy
- current bank statement & one copy
- reference letter from your employer/ education institution
- visa fees for Egyptian Visa.

It would be cheaper just to get it when you arrive in Egypt too.

hi can any 1 help me out here, i went to egypt in june and didnt get a visa as it was just a great week of sun sun sun, but i'm going back in oct (with 14 other people) and i really dont no if we need visas, i'm sure we do but my mum thinks we dont.

When we were about to land in june the air cabin crew gave out the visa things you have to fill in, every 1 was asking if they would need a visa so in the end he spoke over the tanoy and said,"if you going on any trips thet where you go in to the desert or out at sea you will need a visa. in oct we want to do trips like quad biking casino night, star gazing and a boat trip.

My mum seems to think you only need a visa if your doing trips like the cairo etc, but what i heard from the air cabin crew(in june) it sounds like we need one if we want to do the quad bikes etc.

Please Please can some 1 help us as there are a lot of us goig and no one knows what we need to do.

Many Thanks

Hi - I don't think you will need one. We've been to Sharm twice and going again on Saturday for three weeks. We have done quad biking and boat trip and did not need a visa. This time however we will have to buy one because we are there for more than 14 days.

Hope this helps - have a lovely holiday

No you probably won't LTS. Don't take much notice of what the cabin crew say. They are not travel agents. We've flown with FC before and they gave out the wrong landing cards before. They wouldn't believe us when we said they weren't the right ones.

Eirian - I've heard of folk on a three week holiday taking a trip up to Eilat part way through, splits the trip into two less-than-15-day parts and 'Hey presto' no visa needed!!

Just recently introduced is a new stamp for the visas upon arrival.

For a picture see here...

This stamp will no doubt replace the two little stamps that had been previously used for decades.

Larger, clearer, more secure... and with the price clearly mentioned...

US$ 15
