Despite the doom & gloomers (me included) we have just booked up again for our 10th visit.
Quite a few of our friends who usually go longer term - (6 months & 3 months) have decided, that they have had enough.
However, despite some unfortunate and annoying incidents last year, we have decided to return to Goa for January 2009.
It's amazing how listenening to others constantly moaning , can get you thinking that way yourself.
I must keep positive! I must keep positive!
I think you are right Max. When you start reading all the doom and gloom you go looking for it. From speaking with a few long termers off the forum I can understand why they may not want to return but for a 2 week holiday it is brilliant value.

I think that once youve been back in the UK for a few weeks you realise Goa isnt that bad after all, and you really enjoy it.
I have always wanted to go to Egypt, and i have even been tempted to go all inclusive in a 4/5star hotel in Sharm, because it is nearly the same price as we pay for Goa bed and breakfast, but then i get worried that Egypt isnt as friendly as Goa, and i just have visions of not so nice British holiday makers who make the most of the free alcohol.
We are definelty back to Goa for our next holiday, nothing will stop us
and us 01/01/09
And us...3/1/09 for 11th time, can't get enough of the place.
My first time was Easter 2008 and I will definitely be going back in Easter 2009.
Being Indian, I have lived in India for 30 years and the last 12 years in USA and UK and my expectations from Goa are probably different compared to a tourist who visits Goa from this part of the world.... but I just love being in Goa doing typically everything that everyone does in Goa....
Goa has to change a lot for me to abondon it...

Max and Split thats what I like to hear - fantastic news! We are going back in November 2008 and then we will see what happens after that ....
Hope the visa situation remains the same!!
We were expecting to find that this year things had deteriorated by a large amount after reading some of posts on here. but when we got there it hasn't altered that much, certainly there have been changes, not all for the best, but that happens wherever you go.
One thing had not changed......... the people who remembered us from previous years!
Considering Kerala for the following year but can only find flights from gatwick/ heathrow which is a pain living in the North, means an extra day or two on the holiday,. days which are too valuable to be wasting travelling around Englands motorways.(beautiful as they are!!)
goa is cheaper and nicer in my opinion. no beach shacks in kerala. you get your beer in a brown paper bag and sometimes you have to drink it out of a mug.
we've been to goa 7 times going next jan for the 8th time. probably that in the future will extend to 9th-10th----and so on.

you should get out of a holiday what you want,
not somebody else's perceptions of what it should be.
271 days and counting.
Fly from east midlands 26th January for 2 weeks in Candolim

Going back 22 February for 3 weeks, first time we have done 3 weeks and I really can't wait to go back. Love the place still.
we were flying out on the 1st january, just had a letter this morning to say the flight had changed and we are now going on the 28th december at no extra cost, how lucky are we because it usually costs more for new year, and not only that it is our silver wedding anniversary on the 31st, cant think of a better way to spend it.
Hi all We are going back 17th November 2008 and 23rd February 2009
We go the 23rd november for 3 weeks and then march for 2 weeks ......yee haa
Ive been watching the prices for the Riviera De Goa (looks lovely) but its gone up in price a wee bit today but we will keep watching and see what happens.
