Marie,
You can get a lot more information on the Alexander the Great Hotel, by checking the website of their parent company Kanika Hotels http://www.kanikahotels.com
If you check this site, there is an enquiry form about wedding reception options. If you need any help, let me know.
I live in Cyprus, the weather in May next year will be hot & perfect just like it is now, dont worry !
Me and my GF would love to get married in Cyprus next year, about July/August time, but basically we have no idea how to go about organising this
Which way is best?
Do we book it all through a travel agent, or do we book holiday and wedding seperately?
Also, has anybody got a rough idea of how much it would cost to do this?
We've been to Cyprus before and we fell in love with the place.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
S

All B2B I have just come back from getting married in protaras on the 16th June 06 with 24 guests. We booked with Olympic Holidays and the wedding was perfect. We got married in Paralimni town hall and had a meal in a local restaurant looking out to the sea. The town hall is lovely in the inside and has just been decorated this year. We then organized a night reception at the Sphinx bar in protaras who put on an extensive Buffy and entertainment. We used grab a cab for all our transport for the guests and the service the provided was fantastic I would highly recommend them to you all. I would also say to anyone who is thinking of organizing the horse and carriage it is the best money you could spend as it makes you feel so special and unique as most brides use the wedding taxies. If anyone would like me to answer any questions just email me and I will answer what I can.
Lisa
Thanks
We got married in Aradippou Registry Office (lovely building) Nr Larnaca Sept 05. Great day everything was perfect.
I wore Estee Lauder Double wear foundation lasted all day.
We organised all of the wedding/holiday through the travel agent. We chose Planet holidays they were excellent, they were always very helpful. We stayed at the Louis Princess Beach and had our reception there, would truly recommend it to anyone. Jo the wedding coordinator in Cyprus was excellent and always at the end of the phone when we needed her. Good luck and hope everything goes well for everyone due to get married.
Getting Married in Ayia Napa in less than 3 weeks , flying out and staying in protaros in two weeks sooooo excited , Is anyone else getting married soon? Can't believe how quickly it has come around
gcstar - we fly out in 14 days and get married in 21 days! so much to do still, going to be a busy 2 weeks! but i am really looking forwards to it
Oh wow its so exciting where abouts are you getting married sarahat ? So are you getting married on the Tuesday? Im getting married on the Monday the 17th july. I hope all your arranging is going well Wgcstar / Jo
On the day of the wedding itself the hair and beauty people came to the hotel room (the hotel does have a salon but we went with Evelyns recommendation) they did all hair, makeup and nails for me, the bridesmaid and the flowergirl and we were all really pleased as they did exactly as we asked.
The wedding was at 2.30pm and went really well, the weather was perfect as it was hot but also had a nice breeze which kept us all cool (we used the outside venue) the photos were amazing and we got some lovely shots on the beach, the only difficulty was choosing them! We went for a package of 60 pictures which I am really glad about as I really could not have picked only 30. (I originally thought 30 would be plenty as I only had 20 guests)
The meal finished about 8ish and we could have stayed on the terrace all evening if we wanted to but we decided to go to one of the bars instead with everyone.
The morning after the wedding we had a lovely breakfast in bed (smoked salmon, croissants, champagne etc)
I would definitely recommend the Capo bay to get married and would certainly recommend using Evelyn to co-ordinate things for you. Nothing was too much trouble & i felt extremely relaxed knowing she had everything under control.
The wedding photo proofs arrived the next day and after we had chosen them the album was delivered a couple of days later.
All in all a great day!!!
If anyone wants any more details/advice then let me know, i'll be happy to help if I can!
jo - sorry wednesday 19th july 5pm (but this is confirmed out there!). plans are going ok. still a few things to do. had my last dress fitting last night and left a case there for them to pack the dress away. such a big dress! but they said it will be ok once i get there. still got to get the mums a little present and also my little BM's. oh and some underwear! your plans going ok? you having a party when you get back to the UK?
Can anyone tell me if you can take your wedding dress on the plane as hand lugguage/ in a dress box or must it go in the hold along with everyone elses lugguage??
Thanx
ltb - depends on who you fly with. we have booked with thomas cook weddings and thei airline said it must be packed in a case to go in the hold. if you can fit your dress in a hand lugguage size bag then you could take it on the plane with you. my shop where i got my dress from is going to pack my dress for me. i took my case to them yesterday and pick it up the day before we fly
Hi Sarah seems like you are well organised , I am glad I am not the only one with a big dress when I was choosing a dress I was trying to think light just couldn't resist a proper big one. 5 pm is a nice time you are getting married will be a bit cooler then. The only time we could get is 2pm so will be a tad hot..... never mind has to be done.....Having a party on the 5th Aug when we come back, what about you are you having a party when you come back.? its all so exciting isn't it , can't wait counting down now Jo
jo - i just keep making lists of things to do. i only have 2 weekends to do it all in. cant have no more AL from work. yeah, i was the same, but you only do it once and i wanted a big dress. in the end i went for a mori lee dress. the lady in the wedding dress shop looked at me when she saw my case and said how am i going to get that dress in there. she did laugh about it, but i think it will be a tight fit. god knows how i am going to get it back in the case. will have to have it pressed and cleaned before our party. we are also having a party on 5th aug. planning that is more of a pain then the wedding! getting excited now.
