Thank god for air conditioning!

Ice,

Off the top of my head, (and from experience as a wedding organizer), I would estimate that the cost of your reception would be between 17-22 CYP per head, depending upon you menu choice.

Please feel free to contact / PM me if you need any other help with your wedding.

hi there, things aren't going to plan already and the wedding is a year away. i had my heart set for the capo bay and now all the dates in june are gone. :( my wedding planner grabbed a slot for the 10th july but i would be afraid that it would be too hot for people to enjoy themselves. :sun does anyone know what its like or if there is even a breeze. we would be on the pavillion, which is covered, maybe in the evening it would be ok.
i really don't want to start looking elsewhere, any feedback greatly appreciated.

Hi all, just back from paphos, where we had a lovely wedding arranged through Thomas Cook, we married in the Ledra Beach on the 7th July and then hired a yacht for the reception, I just want to say if anyone is thinking of going to Cyprus to marry I def reccomend it, we are still on a high, it ran so smooth i'm sure if we had our wedding at home we would of had many problems! Our Thomas Cook wedding co-ordinator was fantastic and helped with all the arranging of flowers, hair, reception, transport, and of course she was there on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly, she even sorted out the bossy photographer,we had a problem contacting the Paphos Piper and low and behold she lived next door to him! The only daunting bit i found was the trip to the town hall to pay our mariage licence fee, but of course our co-ordinator was there to help us out! It really was so easy, i want to get married all over again, did i mention the 4 glasses of champagne i had to drink before i could walk down the aisle!

Sounds like you had a fab time, we have booked with Thomas Cook and going to the town hall is worrying me, we are getting married at Nissi Bay. When did you arrange you reception did you do it before you arrived in cyprus?

Hi Annette, we left all the organising of the reception until we arrived in Cyprus, even then it was the day after we arrived when we met with the wedding co-ordinator and everything was organised within 2hrs, it was the next again day that we went to the town hall, this is an early appointment usually between 8.30am-9am, Nissi Bay looks fab, i hope everything goes to plan and you enjoy your big day!

Fantazmic, we have just had our wedding on the 7th July and it was very warm, but we did have our wedding at 11.30am so its really hot at that time, between 11-4pm was the warmest, you could book your wedding for a 4pm slot and then follow on with your reception where everyone will be indoors with the fab air conditioning on! You really do adjust to the heat out in Cyprus within a few days! Good luck with dates for next year!

Hi Everyone :wave
MY friend has just booked Golden Coast for her wedding Sept 2007.

Can anyone advise on where is the nicest place at the hotel to get married? Also from the Libra brochure it looks like you can only get married between 9-2.30pm. Preferably they would like a later wedding around 4pm or so. Is this possible?

They have to let the travel agent know in the next few days the date and preferred time so they can check if its available.

Can you have a religious ceremony other than Anglican? ie Elim Pentecostal or Methodist?

Any other comments or tips appreciated
Thanks in advance

Hi,
We just contacted the Town Hall its self to get a date for our wedding, we havent gone through any travel agents and it seems to have gone smoothly so far. The hotel contacted us afterwards to confirm we had the right date and time since the Town Hall informed them aswell. The only problem is its at midday, when I would have preferred a later time!
Does any one have any ideas for favours to put on the tables at the reception? I wanted something Cypriot preferrably other than almonds!
Thanks,
Vicky

lmmb,

Thanks for that. She has already booked the wedding package with the tour operator.

My friend got married in Paphos last year and got mini fans for the ladies as favours and I will check with her what she got for the men. I know she got them locally when she went out.

Had our wedding on 3rd July at Yermasoyia Culture Center - Had 32 guest come out for the wedding and it was absolutely fantastic. Had the most amazing day. Got married at 12:30 (yes it was hot but it was bearable). Reception was at the Four Seasons Hotel where we were staying. The day was perfect from start to finish. Hubby and I looked great (if I do say so myself!!).

I was so worried before I came out to Cyprus because nothing had been finalised as yet - but absolutely no need to worry - met with the Thomas Cook wedding co-ordinator (Natalie) the next day and arranged the visit to the Registrar to sort out the paperwork. Sorted out the coach for the wedding guest etc.

Then I had a meeting with the Food & Beverage manager at the Four Seasons and discussed how I wanted the table set with all my decorations which i had brought over with me. Then it I sat back and sunned myself until the BIG DAY.

Had my hair done by a lovely lady called Chris - she did a fantastic job. Evelyn (wedding co-ordinator in Cyprus) had also recommended her to me prior to going out there. The photos came out smashing. Proofs were ready the day after the wedding to look at and the album delivered a couple of days before our departure.

All in all - it was a fab day - our guests were on a high along with us.

To all you bride/grooms out there - you will have a most amazing day - so kick back and relax and enjoy.

Hi Lucie1
I was looking at the Evandrea but struggled to find any contact details, a friend of my auntie got married last year and had her reception at the DIVA restaurant in protaras. She said they couldnt do enough for them and the food was excellent. I have booked to have our reception there and have been very helpful and accommodating. If you search Diva restaurant on net, will find them, along with wedding menus. hope this helps .

shartley,
unfortunately i have to have my wedding in peak season as my mum is a teacher and my little sister is in secondary school. i myself am used to being able to go on holidays off-peak. i think may/june and sept/oct would be lovely times for a summer wedding in cyprus.
i was looking at dubai for a honeymoon as well, i,ve heard it is an amazing place and there are lots of things to do. however in july it could be in the forty's :sun !! haven't made any decisions yet but the maldives would be in the late twentys and are not too far and they look like complete paradise. maybe i could do a combination
anyway i'm looking forward now to july07 and can't wait to start planning the finer details.
