Hi Sarah I feel like that about the party when we come back , I just can't think about anything apart from The Wedding in Cyprus We have 28 people going out so just trying to arrange that , have you pre booked your reception in Cyprus? Your dress sounds lovely sounds like you have to get a seperate plane just for your dress ha ha .
Only 12 more sleeps so excited x Jo
we have 19 people coming, most stopping in our hotel! but they are only coming out for 1 week, which is good. nah, have not booked the recpetion as yet. was going to wait till we get there and try a few places. a few places on here were named and recommended. do you fly on wednesday 12 july?
yes fly out from Gatwick 12th July to Larnaca at 7 am with Thomas Cook Holidays going for two weeks but like you all our family and friends are coming for a week will need a rest after the first week .
I have already emailed Kanika hotels and did not get any reply. I have since emailed again and have not yet heard back.
If you have any other idea's of getting info for my reception at Alexander The Great please let me know.
Thanks
Marie
Jo - we fly at the same time as you, but from Birmingham. Sounds like Larnaca airport will be busy Wednesday afternoon! Only 5 more working days for me. Just been into Town and got my underware, and gift for my B/maid! Much more to do?
Hi Sarah , Done my holiay clothes shopping today just need to get bridesmaids and page boys presents and favours then I think we r done getting a bit stressed now know it will be o.k, one of my best firends/ bridesmaid is flying from Birmingham on the wednesday at 7am , I think alot of the flights go in on the wednesday. Big count down now can't wait just to get out there now and the planning to be over....Good luck with all the other stuff you need to do ......jo x
Sarah, What r u doing about flowers do you know anything about prices etc...... Thanks x Jo
jo - i dont really know any prices for anything out there. i have ask thomas cook weddings and they said you will get the prices once you get there!? was going to take silk, but it would be too much hassle carrying them on the plane etc. but going by the photos people post on here, the flowers seem really nice. the only thing i have done re the plan over there is to e mail the hotel for an upgrade, confirmed numbers with them and booked my hair app for the 19th (the wedding day).
Hi, does anybody know of any good photographers in the Nissi Bay / Ayia Napa area?
Sarah , Thank you for that we just wait until I get out there, I hope all your plans are going well ,days are going really fast . SO exciting Jo
Our wedding will be at the Monesty in Ayai Napa has anybody else got married there? What was it like? Our reception is then at the Capo Bay hotel in the pavilion. Have you have your reception there?
It would be great to hear from you.
It all looks so beautiful and i can't wait now that i've finally decided on a venue. the only thing is i secretly really wanted a horse and carriage but don't know how i could justify it if the whole wedding and my accomodation is at the same place , oh well its not really a bad complaint.
So we hope to fly out on the fri 9th june and maybe get married on the 13th. My little girl will be nearly three then and this sounds like an all round hotel for her too.
Just wondering what people are doing for their honeymoon? We were just planning to stay one week in Cyprus with our little one and then head off alone for another week. Maybe Dubai or Maldives, somewhere where you wouldn't feel guilty not bringing the child.
i have booked my wedding for june 07 at the Capo bay through first choice- could you tell me who you got to do your hair/nails etc and do you know how many people the outside venue accomodates?
Also do you know if the hotel would have a seperate room for my bridesmaids to get ready in, as out of the 36 people attending we have decided we want to be the only ones staying at the Capo to allw some privacy.
Thanks
ltb
I.m not certain how many the outside venue holds but i told Jenny i may have about 40 guests, and there didn't seem to be a problem.I'll check. I suppose i was thinking of being traditional and sending my fiance off to his parents the night before and getting ready with the girls altogether in my room with some bubbly ,but maybe i should check how big the rooms are!
I am getting married in St George's on 20th October 2006 and my UK photographer has agreed to come over to photograph the wedding. He is fab and does very natural wedding pics. As he is going to be there for a few days I have suggested that if anyone else is getting married in Cyprus around this time, he maybe able to do your photographs if you wish. His website is http://www.robgrange.com/ if any of you interested.
Also just seeing some very poor reviews about the Rui Cypria Bay, has anyone been recently and had a GOOD experience!!!
Sorry Ltb, just realised you weren't actually addressing me Hope we get to swap ideas and tips anyway, as the new Capo Brides to Be
I had my first dress fitting at the weekend which has made me more excited! Just the worrying thought of packing it now, apparently this can be taken as extra luggage but I have been advised to check this out with the airline - must add that one to my to-do list along with obtaining the affidavit and full birth dertificates!
Olympic so far have been great, they have responded to emails very quickly and have confirmed our requests for the reception arrangements (we are having cypriot dancers followed by a DJ in the Capo Bay Pavillion) which they are arranging for us. A couple of guests have had their flight times changed but I suppose that can't be helped. So, Olympic have been, so far so good - watch this space - I hope they keep up the good work!
We are thinking of having the Cypriot Meze menu for the reception, can anyone comment on this? It looks nice although we can't quite work out what half of the food is! Hopefully, there should be something for everyone - even the fussy eaters!
Any advice, comments, feedback or just helpful tips about the Capo Bay and their weddings would be appreciated. I am happy to help our with any pre-booking wedding queries if I can! Good luck to everyone getting married in Cyprus over the next coming months.
Sorry about the delay in replying, I had only just seen that the forum was back up.
Sorry to hear that you had no reply from Kanika. PM me & I will see what else I can do to help.
Andria.
How many people can i squash into St George's Chapel! I have 47 people coming over and never expected that many to book up, i am sure i read that it can seat 25 and standing 45.....
The actual chapel can seat upto 26 guests. At a push you can probably squeeze 10-12 guests. The good thing is that the chapel is also air-conditioned.
