Hi all im flying with First Choice they are telling me that my wedding dress will have to be carried in the hold which i think is with the rest of the suitcases they are carrying it for free as long as it does'nt weigh over 10 kg. Still abit concerned about this i would rather have it ion my knee {all the way } ha ha ha ! They do recommend taking insurance does anyone think this is nessesary and if so if you have got it how much was it?

as we are both Irish Passport holders we need to get letters from The Irish Embassey instead of a solicitor. I know of some brides on another site who had a template and printed it , took it to a solicitor and got it signed for around £7 to £10 each. There is a template on Weddings By KJ as far as I know.

Hi Onree, we are also getting married at 2 o clck and I have the same problem with my other half wanting to wear a suit. I am still not sure of those colours although I did find a picture last night of a wedding with similar colours which looked ok.
I don't know how I would of organised or got ant ideas for this wedding without these web sites. Have you had a look at YAYW yet?

Great to hear you got your papers I will be watching out for ours now. We collected our rings last weekend , don't know how many times I tried it on this week just to make sure it looked alright !
Sent off for our little boys passport last week also , another thing ticked of the list. What have you left to do now ?

Well I think that's the paperwork sorted anyway. I have to renew my other little boys passport but that should only take two weeks and I'll do that this week.

I just have to arrange a reception venue, cars, flowers and a hairdresser but other than that I think everything is going smoothly

I still have to get my dress altered and sort out my bridesmaid but that's a minor detail!

You sound pretty much sorted - are you all excited yet?

Yes I am getting excited now, bit nervous about the flight and a little bit concerned about the water shortages but all in all can't wait.
It is great how quick the passports come back , ours were 2 weeks to the day. Hope the wee mans is the same. Do you have any ideas for your reception yet ?

I had initally said that I wanted to hold it in the Apartments so that we are closeby and the kids can play away, but I don;t want to commit in case it's not as nice as in th e pics!

What water shortages are you referring to? I haven't heard this part!

I'm sure your appartments will be as nice as the pictures. We have not arranged any entertainment for after our meal so we are thinking we might all go to the villa my Mum , Dad and friends are staying at for a relaxing drink and lounge around. The kids will probably be mad to go in the pool anyway.

I phoned the embassey today and they are sending our papers out in the next few days.

There have been water shortages all over Cyprus as there has been no rain for a long time. The water is being turned off in areas for hours at a time. I spoke to our planner today and she said Paphos is not being too badly affected yet but she is conserving water by saving from her shower to water her garden. There is a thread on the main discussion list , have a look there is an interesting article on it. I was very concerned when I heard it at first but we are not changing our plans . We will manage like the people who are living out there.

our friends have just been out there and they said they didnt even notice the water shortage, is anyone worrying about how hot they are going to be in their dress??? my wedding planner told me to go for a material that was light and flowy but i just went for the dress that i fell in love with!

also i want t surprise my partner with a day out in the second week has anyone got any good ideas?

we got a sunset cruise as part of our package but i want to do something he wont know about!

My sister in law got married in Ayia Napa and went to Egypt overnight as a honeymoon, she organised it through her travel rep and was booked into a hotel and everything - sounded lovely

im september! we did want May but my partners best friend is getting married then!
were actualy quite organised! he has found the suits but the guy in the shop said to come back in may cos they will have more summer suits to choose from! rings all done, my final fitting for my dress is the 8th August and the bridesmaids dresses are hanging up in our spare room! we have just about finalized our numbers for the reception. just have to get our paperwork done but have to do that 3months before!

Im sure it will come round quick but i just want it now! but i have always been impatient!!!!

just got our papers from Dublin this morning . That is the last piece of paperwork now. Have you sent yours off yet ? Will get my other half to scan them into computer and email to our planners on Monday. 10 weeks today and we will be married by 2pm

Don't worry it will come around quicker than you think ! Have you all sorted , what about transporting your dress have you decided how you are going to bring it out ? I'm not sure what to do yet.

i rang our airline the other day and they said there was no extra luggage charge and they said if i can fit it into the dimensions then i can take it as hand luggage if not it can go in the hold, so i then rang my wedding dress shop and she said they can pack it small enough to get it out there! but then i have just got to figure out if i will be able to pack it small enough to bring back! what about you? who are you flying with??
