I guess you will be alright! Would you have a contact there to double check it with? Just to give you peace of mind. I heard it via our wedding planner who lives overthere.

Our ceremony was originaly booked for 15:00. We now moved it to 16:30 and once the photo's and things are done we will spend the remainder of the time at the beach taverna before heading of by boat.

I'll email my planner tonight, spoke to her earlier and she didn't mention it so it must be okay!

Hi, really enjoyed reading all the advice from everyone on the forum (first time have posted anything!).

My partner and I are getting married at St Paul's Bay next year and at last count we have 25 guests coming over for wedding. We are using Lindos Weddings and so far have been really impressed with them. Karen is coming to see us at our home and although am sure she will have lots of ideas for us, we would like advice from you guys out there of ideas for restaurants for reception. We would like somewhere where we can have music and a dance afterwards and wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere like that in Lindos.

Also, where to start on the dress!! Any tips would be appreciated. Would like to wear bridal but not anything too heavy and I am an over 40 bride to be!

I would love to have a BBQ on the beech after the wedding did anyone else do this. Also does anyone have prices for the glass bottom boat trip I see that is popular.

We got married on the 27th June 2006 at St Paul's Chapel - it was amazing!!

We had to write to say a HUGE thank you to Karen and Laurence (Lindos Weddings) for everything they did to make our wedding day so special. It far exceeded our expectations! Whenever we think about it or someone mentions it we can't wipe the smile off our faces! It was such an amazing day, and we know it's all down to all the hard work they both put in organising everything.

We knew from the first time we met them we had nothing to worry about and that our special day would be in safe hands, and when we arrived in Lindos we knew we were right. We didn't feel stressed or anxious about any part of it at all!

We've already been recommending them to everyone who wants to get married. We've said it before and we'll say it again, we'd have paid double for their services. All of our family and friends who were there for our day still cannot believe how little we paid for how much we got.

We can't begin to thank them for making our day so special! We've already booked up to come back next year for our first anniversary.

Thanks again

Lots of Love

Ed & Erica

Hi I would just like to add a praise for Karen and Lawrence too, we had our wedding at St. Pauls Bay on 29th May, we had a 6pm slot, although it was later as a party beforehand were late due to there boat breaking down (Not the boat person Karen uses i might add!) We had the Champagne cruise which was amazing, i think we may be the only ones who saw dolphins! That really made it.
It was very hot, buy Lawrence provided all our guests with water, we had elderly and children.
The service was short but sweet, it was busy, i think we had the busiest day, there were weddings before and after, but it certainly wasn't like a conveyer belt, it was a lovely atmosphere and everyone was there congratulating everyone else. (From an outsiders perspective it could look like a conveyer belt, but once your there it doesn't!).
We had our meal at the Collesium in Pefkos, Paul, the manger and the staff are definetly worth a mention as the food was fantastic 1000 Euros for 40 people.

Fantastic day had by all!

Oh just for the lady wanting ideas on dresses, it is hot very hot and i'm afraid to say that the big dresses look a but out of place, (just my opinion) i actualy wore an ivory bridesmaid dress, Oh and have lots of colour, in BM dresses, flowers and button holes etc, if you use white, (again in my opinion) it doesn't do justice on the photos.

How close is Lindos and Pefkos? Planning wedding for Sept 2007 and looking into where to stay. Any tips on apartments would be great. travel agents said that the Lindia Thalassa have great reports but I was worried they were to far to walk into Lindos.

Hi lisbob
In my opinion
It would be to far to walk into Lindos from pefkos it cost about 6 euro in a cab.
We are getting married on the 4th sept at St Pauls bay we are staying at the Lindia Thalassa, we stayed there last year and its in a great spot right on the beach, staff are really friendly and the place is spotless.

Hi Paul Good luck for your big day. Could you tell me is the Lindia Thalassa in Pefkos or if not now long it is to walk? Is it better to stay in Pefkos or Lindos? I am worried for guests if we are all in different areas to make sure we can meet up. I was going to use Karen but I thought was seemed really expensive! but I am starting to think that maybe I should. Your BBQ sounds great thats excatly what I am after let me know how everything goes.

Hiya

Did you all notice that no boats are allowed before 18:00 in the St Pauls Bay? Or have you not been there around this time..

This just because this is affecting our wedding day as we had to delay our ceremony time. I was just wondering if you had noticed this as well

Thanks!

Lindia Thalassa is in pefkos, which is approx 3 miles from lindos.
I have family staying in Lindos and in pefkos for our wedding I left the choice up to them as i said before the taxi is only 6 euro also some people like to spend time on there own during the day and just meet up at night(well thats what they told me) or vice versa.
Using Karen was the best decision we made, the only things we have had to do ourselves was some of our paper work, non impediment forms etc and sending them to the F.O. for there stamp of approval.
We told Karen what we would like and where we would like our wedding.
Karen sorts all this and even has a list of places for your reception
to but it in simple terms she does the lot, karen even meets you at home over the winter time to finalise things.
I know we have not had our wedding yet, but I know everthing will be better than we expected due to Karens expertise in this field.
The only thing I have to worry about is not to forget the paper work and the rings.
Best money i have spent.

Hi guys, first post here a I am a BIG Lanzarote fan. Never done Greece, never fancied Greece. HOWEVER went to Lindos in July to surprise my sister on her 25th wedding anniversary and I am now TOTALLY CONVERTED. Have our usual trip to Lanza booked for September but then I think Lanza will be taking a very back seat to Lindos in future years. I am a really fussy individual and everybody who knows me and who also absolutely love the Greek Islands said it was not for me and I wouldnt like it. Well, they were wrong...............I can do goats, cats and donkey s**t no problem!!! Absolutely loved the place. My reason for posting here is that my little sister is getting married next year and I just know she would absolutely love it at St. Pauls Bay. Could anyone tell me the criteria for getting married out there as she has been divorced and I know this limits a great deal where you can marry. Any info on this aspect would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi

Glad you enjoyed Lindos as much as i did on my first visit - i'm still going back 13 years on!!

It's mainly civil ceremonies so the fact that she's divorced shouldn't be a problem. The main advice on here seems to be speak to the guys at Lindos Weddings, they are higly recommended. :D

Just want to add to Karens servces, (not wanting to sound biassed though) If you use a holiday company, there usually isn't a special wedding co-odinator, and they have other things to deal with, so 100% isn't put into your wedding. Karen has lots of other weddings to deal with, but this is her main priority and she works so hard to make the day special, she uses reputable business for everything, it's the small things which make the day, if there are any other weddings before or after she will make sure the bride doesn't see the other bride, other companies will not pay as much attention as this. I have come accross many people who have used tour operators and have wished they have used a specialist local planner. In my opinion to know that there is someone out there who is contacting venues, looking at menus, finding the flowers and the cake, it's so much more relaxing!

This is just from my experience of having my wedding in St Pauls in May.

Hi we had our wedding on 23/06/06 at st pauls bay and used exqusite weddings. We were married at 6pm and had the boat to take us to our reception. That was afetr six so the boat is allowed into the bay. I have to say it was the most amazing day of our lives. We had an accordianist escort me to the chapel and then he played while the photos were being taken. He then walked us through the streets to our reception and he was amazing. I would recommend lindos and St Pauls bay to everyone it was beautiful :D :D :D
