You all make me feel very bad. For 3 weeks over Xmas and New Year we spent over 1200 just on food and taxis. Included in that was the dentist but as we didn't have anything done except for clean and polish it wasn't that much. We do buy all the malaria tablets and other bits from the chemist as well as toiletries and of course loads of cashew nuts to bring home and the usual honeybee and Old Monk. Other than that we didn't buy an awful lot this year, not one single sarong although we did buy jewelly and presents. We do eat in very good restaurants all the time and I'm afraid the sun and heat don't have the effect on me of stopping me eating, we mostly have 3 courses in the evening with wine and G&Ts. We also get taxis every night and every other day we go out in the taxi for the full day to other beaches. I don't really care too much about what I spend as everything is so cheap its lovely to have whatever you want for 3 weeks. I know we could do it cheaper but I am on holiday and that's what I work for.
No need to feel guilty about what you spend. It is your money you earned it and its up to you to enjoy it how you see fit.Too much doom and gloom around.I have put a few bob extra into the Nationwide accounts this year and do not care if we blow the lot.

I agree, Goa is our only holiday abroad each year as we have dogs and can't bare to leave them for longer than 2 weeks! We usually have a pool of £1000 in the joint Nationwide account for spending money but very rarely use that much - and we don't skimp, we have whatever we want, usually taking full day taxi's every other day and eating out everynight with half a dozen 'posh' meals over the two weeks. However, in view of the problems some people are having using ATMs this year we might take cash/travellers cheques just in case.
We won't be scrimping and scraping and we will have anything we want when we want but to be honest as long as we have good company, good food and several honeybees I personally will feel like I am in heaven Fizz
Due to the credit crunch Fizzy I am taking all my tat back to Goa to sell on the the beach, so if you are woken from your sleep on the sunbed by a bald headed fella with a spike in his lip, say hello
If I thought I would have room in the suitcase FTV I would bring my tat back and join you Fizz
Me too, I have promised my self if i go at easter i will not bring anything back with me only what i take, buti have said it before

if your used of going to Europe or Turkey then the first time to Goa is like 10 christmas's!!! but..... when you've been going for years you get used of the cost of living there, and your own! i spent loads Dec 08 about £1000 over 3 weeks, which is unheard of for me! didn't really have much to show for it but did drink wine when i went out!!! i love it and you do get fed up of vodka! I'm going on Saturday and have £300 for spending money and accommodation, so should be interesting! but i have been there before with only £60 spends for the week but the pound is at the moment!!!
i am traveling to goa in november for 28 nights i will be on my own.how much spends should i take with me i was thinking 1500 pounds or is that to much

That will be more than ample.Have a great time.

i was thinking 1500 pounds or is that to much No! you might want to stay on for another month.
I think someone on there own would be pushed to spend a £1000 but if you have T/Cs you can keep what you don't use for next time or leave £500 in your bank or BS and use an ATM if you need to.
