Would definitely like to re-itterate Briars advice posted at an earlier date in this topic if you have any broken jewellry save it till you visit Turkey again ,my wife had two broken neck chains that i had purchasd for her on previous trips had a qoute from a local jeweller for the repair of them it came back at £20 each and they would be away for 2 weeks so i said forget it, we took them to a jewellers in Belek i told my wife to pick her self out a bracelet which she did it cost about £180 paid for it then asked if he could fix her chains he said of course i asked how much it would cost he replied it would be free and it would take about 30 minutes while we sat and had turkish apple tea and a chat with him when they came back with them they were both as good as new repaired and polished up ,what a fantastic service p.s. had bracelet valued for insurance purpose it is worth £300
well thats done it for me terry,i couldnt rember what the price difference was in jewlery compared to uk ,,might seem a good deal but we got 2 diamond rings in goa payed 340 pounds for the 2 .1 is a full carat and other is just over half a carat nice grades too ,we got them valued in uk there worth just under 2000 ,also he cleaned my jewlery too and coated them in 24carat for free, saying that i did get a nice kneckless in a little jewelers ,more of a repair shop, nothing fancy, in icmeler for next to nothing.only bought it because it was unusual, its like a fabrege egg in a locket style quite large with diamonties ,so may give him a visit to see what hes got in,i buy because i like but hubby is getting to be a expert he buys for value so dont know wether its worth the hassle in turkey when he gets his diamond glass out and his diamond tester and moissanite tester ,,a moissanite by the way is a fake diamond hard to tell the difference between a real diamond ,,so be aware of fakes, also a turkish friend told me to be aware as some jewelers have got the stamp to stamp the gold when it is not gold, easily obtained machine from italy, but a liquid from the chemist can sort that,
It was my birthday when i was away so my patrner took me shopping for whatever i wanted. We went to the area fetiye and a shop called tolleminos (think thats how it's spelt) got a 18.9gram 18carat yellow and white gold bracelet we haggled a little and got the bracelet for £205. I've not had it valued as yet but would imagine maybe treble the price here.
I also got a diamondreplaced in my ring and 2 bracelets fixed and polished for the cost of the replacement diamond £10
In Hisarono on walkin by the jewellers my partner decided he wanted a new watch he had his eye on a Tissot watch with touch screen, while in there my eye wandered hehehe we ended up buyin 2 watches 18carat gold one for me 23 grams and 8 gram 14carat gold bracelet and tissot watch all for the great price of £695.
My watch is beautiful and i know i will never see it anywhere else.
My partner got his tissot watch for £285. They are sellin here in the uk for £350 and above. The jewellers called Infinity
I recommend both the above shops
Jewellers Rouge to the public ?
Doe's anybody know if the Jewellery shops sell Regarding jewellery repairs most of the shops will do it free if you are buying something though a few years ago my Mum took her engagement ring that she hadn't worn for years with it being too tight for her and bent to a totally different shape. They measured her finger and stated it would need an extra band of gold around it. They repaired it and cleaned it for the grand total of £6. The shop name i cannot remember but its been there years (Marmaris), its on the corner of the street leading to the Puppy pub and they state their prices in the window and do not hassle.
I bought a really unusual necklace from a shop next to the Robin hood bar in marmaris( on the main street), it is an acorn which opens out into a cross and is really heavy. Bought it for £180 but havn't had it valued. The guy there though is a real smooth talker.
Hiya everyone, I'm getting married in Side in October and was thinking of buying the wedding rings when we get out there - is white gold readily available? I've never been to Turkey before but when I've visited Greece and Malta I didn't really see much? Thanks

more white gold in turkey than you can shake a stick at.
if you can only find what you want in yellow gold, not a problem as they will make in white if thats what you want.
hope this helps
I have a few scratches on my car window and Jewellers Rouge might just do the trick, now I know you can buy it off ebay but thought I would ask before I get to see me eld mate Murat and Sonja @ Firuze Jewellers
Thanks anyway
Ha ha Tim
The Happy couple maybe able to help us out Doodles
thanks mike...that's my decision made, gonna go for it
I've been too chicken to go and have it valued here as I absolutely love it and hubby to be would be gutted if it turns out to be worth less than he paid for it.
we bought mine in marmaris for £550
when we had it valued it was £1760, i was shaking coming out of the shop. we only wanted to know that it was worth at least what we paid.
go get it done and let us know how you get on
good luck sharon
Can anyone tell me roughly how much it would cost to have a ring valued in this country. We bought a diamond ring for my husband on our first visit to Turkey 4 years ago.We bought it from Kurts in Icmeler but when we went to Hisaronu this year my husband decided to get the ring cleaned. The jeweller there said it wasn't real diamonds but offered to replace them with real ones,an offer we declined.I'm now curious as I've never heard any bad reports about Kurts
