Janelouise, there were no wristbands in 2006, only cards. Also, not all rooms had seaviews. We had a duplex room at the very top of the complex and we could see the sea clearly from our upstairs balcony, but not from the downstairs room. My parents had a standard room at the same level as our upstairs room and couldn't see the sea at all as there was another block in front of them. The three rooms we had were average sized, not cramped and not spacious! There were hairdryers in all the bathrooms and some toiletries were provided - shampoo and shower gel and Dove liquid soap.

Thank you cazzholly for your reply.

Did you enjoy your stay at this hotel? The reviews I have seen have mostly been good :) , and I had a look at the hotel's web site and it looks great. I'm sure the rooms will be fine for us, as there is only me and my husband.

Did you do any organised trips whilst you were there?

Thanks Jane

Jane,

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the WOW Resort. We didn't do any organised trips as we had a car but my parents went on a day trip to Ephesus and also to Kos for the day, which they thought were both well worth the cost. We especially enjoyed the a la carte restaurants at this hotel (though the main buffet was very good). The Italian was excellent and overlooked the beach, while the Seafood restaurant was higher and overlooked Gumbet Bay. The Turkish restaurant was outdoor and very authentic and again overlooked the bay. My then 15yo son took his PADI Open Water diving certificate at the diving centre based at the hotel which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel in the first place. We found the entertainment here very good compared with similar AI in Turkey and overall would highly recommend the hotel. We bought a villa whilst on holiday in Turkey recently so won't be going AI in Turkey again, but if we ever were to, the WOW Resort would be a definite choice.

Any more questions, please feel free to ask!

Thanks again Cazz,

I'm really looking forward to going now, but its going to be strange, as this is our first holiday without our 2 daughters!! This is also our first time to Turkey, so any tips and information would be very much appriciated.

Just one other question, I'm sure I've read somewhere that there is a catamaran/boat that is included in the all-inclusive, or have I imagined this :-?

There was free sailing included - Hobie Cats I think plus Banana Boat rides and windsurfing. There were so many included things at this hotel, even haircuts! We also stayed at another WOW hotel, the Kremlin Palace near Antalya which was also very good. If you check out the company's website http://www.wowhotels.com and check under 'services' it will tell you what is included. When in September are you going?

We go on 27th September.

We've been to a few all inclusive hotels in Tunisia, Majorca, Ibiza and Fueteventura and have never had so much included, I can't believe you even get a haircut included!!!

Thanks Jane

We enjoy staying AI in the Caribbean where the facilities really are first class but Turkey is the closest to the standard that we have found in Europe and nearer to home. We have also tried AI in Egypt, Tunisia and Tenerife but they are nothing like the standards we have found in Turkey. We have stayed AI in 5 different 5* AI hotels in Turkey and one 4* and they have all been excellent.

I think you will have a great time at the WOW Resort. I will try and send you a PM in a week or so (we're off to Las Vegas for a week tomorrow and I only came back from Turkey last week so haven't much time at the moment - really shouldn't spend so much time on here!) My eldest (17) decided this year he didn't want to come away with us to Turkey and I was disappointed but we had a great time and he was happier staying at home. It was just us and our 13yo and I had forgotten how easy it was to take just one child on holiday - no bickering, no arguments about who wanted to go where/do what - bliss!

Hope you have a great time in Las Vagas.

This will be our first holiday without our girls (they are 19 and nearly 17), and must admit that, whilst I am looking forward to having no bickering and arguments from them, I am sad that they are not coming with us. I'm sure they would have had a great time, as the hotel sounds great.

Only 5 weeks to go now :sun2

Tickets came today yipee :cheers . Can't wait until 27th Sept.

I was just wondering though, our flight isn't until 23.45, so is it worth booking a late check out room, or can you use the hotel facilities right up until you leave?
Reply
Jane, we didn't book a late check out room when we were at the Bodrum Resort as we had a day flight, but when we previously stayed at the WOW Kremlin Resort, the late checkout cost was €100 which is excessive. I think the Bodrum Resort was the same price. If you booked through a travel agent, it's worth seeing how much they will charge and whether it can be added.

Crikey that seems alot for a late checkout room. I think I'll phone Thomas Cook and see if we can add it on.

Thanks Jane

Hubbie phoned Thomas Cook and we can't add on a late check out room, so just hope we can still use all inclusive facilities up until we leave at about 8.30 pm.

Returned from this hotel last Sunday, and we had a fantastic time. The hotel was spotless, food scrumptious, and excellent facilities.
Didn't need a late check out room, as you could use all the facilities right up until you left the hotel, and we used the spa for a shower.
We will definately return again next year.

Hi

Just booked for August 2009. I was reading the WOW website & noticed that that you have to be in formal dress when you got to the Ala-carte restaurants.

Can anyone who has been please confirm his? I never bring pants (to hot in Turkey) with me on holiday, always smart dress shorts.

Look forward to someones reply :cheers

Hi

One thing I need to know, what are the mozzies like there? We went to Holiday Village in Turkey last year & we got bit to hell!
Reply
There are mosquitoes in Gumbet but it's not that bad. I very rarely got a bite, although I did find them in the house sometimes even though we had netting.

If you are prone to being bitten I would advise getting a repellent called Off by Johnsons, you can get it over there in shops and pharmacies and it works very well, so does lemon cologne.

we only visited the Turkish a la carte resturants when we were there, and my husband just wore 3/4 length trousers. The food was nice there, but to be honest we preferred the main buffet resturant.

can anybody give me a honest review off the wow bodrum gumbet turkey going next september

Plenty of honest reviews if you click on Hotel Reviews at the top of the page.

I have merged your post with an existing topic which should have some additional information.
