Hi Kelly,

We are staying at the WOW Bodrum 15th July-29th July this year ... will leave a full review when we get back if that's any help.

Thanks Cazz

We are travelling to this hotel in September, so it would be nice to know
how good this hotel really is and if it still lives up to the older reviews.

Just returned from a 2-week stay at this hotel through Thomas Cook. Had a fantastic time .... hotel came up to our expectations. The hotel is located on a fairly steep hill on the outskirts of Gumbet. It would be about a 10-15 min walk into Gumbet but we took taxis as we didn't feel like walking when the temperature was 100 degrees! The facilities were excellent and the food very good. Lunch can be taken at one of the three a la carte restaurants - outdoor Turkish restaurant has a wonderful view over Gumbet bay and was a favourite place to spend a couple of hours at lunchtime with a bottle of wine! The miniclub facilities were excellent and were available from 10.00am to 12.00 midnight (with a break for supper). My daughter went on a trip with the miniclub to Bodrum Castle, went sailing and took banana boat rides (all free). The only negative with this hotel was our room. We booked a family duplex room which cost almost £1000 in supplements and felt we would have been better off booking two standard rooms. These rooms would be unsuitable for young children as they have their own entrance door, own balcony door (neither door can be locked from inside/childproofed!) and the upstairs room is a gallery/mezzanine type room with steep stairs.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for families. My parents (early 70's) went with us to this hotel but felt it was not really for them.

Merged with existing topic which may have some information.

Can I ask that you don't post in phone text style, eg u instead of you and any 1 instead of anyone?

Some of our visually impaired members use screen readers that do not recognise this type of text.

Thanks.

We have just booked to go to this hotel in September. I have read the reviews on this site and it sounds absolutely lovely. This will be our first holiday without our children, as they are now "too old" to come on holiday with mum and dad!!

Has anyone been there recently and is it still as good!!

I have quite a few questions and I would welcome any advice, as this will be our first time to Turkey.

Many thanks

My husband's friend is working at this hotel at the moment and he says it is really lovely. I have seen it but not been inside and I have heard lots of good reviews about it.

It is right on the beach at the end of the bay, you can walk along the beach to get into Gumbet, it takes about 15 minutes to get to the centre but it is a nice walk.

Please feel free to ask me any questions about Gumbet or turkey as I lived there for a few years.

I fancied this hotel and like all the wow hotels no rooms with beds, I was going to go with my wife and daughter but I would have to stay in a single room. I gave a it a miss.

I have read some reviews on other sites and some say the rooms are in need of a refurb.

We stayed at the WOW Bodrum Resort a couple of years ago with 2 teenagers in a duplex room which was brilliant for our needs. My husband and I also stayed at the WOW Kremlin nr Antalya without the kids and that was also a great hotel. Both rooms were well decorated with modern bathrooms - neither was in any need of a refurb!

Can't, why would you need an additional single room? My parents came with us to the WOW Bodrum and had a standard room - my daughter stayed in their room overnight a few times as there was a sofa bed provided.

Thomas cook would only book a child in 12 and under, my daughter is 14. Couldn't get a room for 3 adults.

Oh I can see the problem now! The third bed in my parents room was probably deemed unsuitable for an adult by Thomas Cook then. I've not come across any other TO offering this hotel, though I would imagine it could be booked direct. The duplex rooms would probably be ideal for you but they come with very hefty supplements :(

Thank you Kedi,

Do you know if the hotel is 24 hour all-inclusive, as somewhere I have seen written that it ends at 2 a.m., and also, are there snacks available in the evening, as we are due to arrive quite late at night and probably will be grateful for a snack and a drink.

Also, are there definately hairdryers in the rooms and what toiletries are provided, as it would be great if I can leave these things at home and take more clothes :)

Thank you. I'm sure I will have more questions later.

Thank you for that.

Does anyone know if all the rooms have a sea view and are they large or small?

To book this hotel through thomas cook is mega expensive if you have got kids as well. Not to bad if they are under 12. I got a quote from exculibur holidays for £3300 next july waited a few day before deciding and it went up £500. They offered me week end of sep for £1600 but couldn't make a decision because the missus had to try and get time off work then, but it was full by the time I got back to them. http://www.exculibur-holidays.com are cheap than thomas cook. and http://www.detur.co.uk do them as well.

After you have been post a reveiw what it was like because I am tempted to try and book for the hotel as well sometime. I would like to know what the beach is like and what it is like once you are in the sea.

Hi Mike

Please have you got a contact number for Exculibur holidays

Thanks

I think the above should be http://www.excalibur-holidays.com/

I can't see an ABTA or ATOL logo on the site.

Does anyone know if you have to wear a wrist band or do you use a card at this hotel for the all inclusive?

Thanks
