Sunny beach is the best resort out of all of them.It is clean, hot, and everyone that we meet (locals) were very polite and not pushy at all. If you are like we were and a little nervy about going to Bulgeria for the first time, Dont be!! its a great place. Sort of a cross between Spain and Greece.

the resort was very clean considering it was august, the bulgarians take pride in there town and work long hours and dont seem to complain.
lots of ok, not brilliant singers in most of the bars, some better than others. i recommend the gadana which is -turn right outside the hotel ,take first right straight down the hill on the left side corner with the bulgarian dancers.the food and service was really good .
looking at the sea the beach to the left is quieter but i like to see the sea not hundreds of heads.the beach seemed clean every where .give it a try i had a wonderful holiday.

The resort of Golden Sands is fantastic and we much prefered it to Sunny Beach. Although there are a large number of people giving you leaflets/getting you in to bars etc they are very polite and take the no as the first and only answre. Those who were giving flyers for the more'adult' bars give families a very wide bearth which was very pleasing.
There is plenty to do and lots of shops and bars with a number of little streets of the main two roads so you could go somewhere different every night but it is not as 'in your face' and manic as Sunny Beach and we felt much more suitable for a family.
There are a large number of Scandinavians and Germans in the resort but although some were very rude it made a nice change from the usual 'Blackpool in the sun'.
The locals are very friendly and will bend over backwards for you and they are a credit to their country.
Although we are going to Albena next year we will be returning to this resort.

WE stayed at Golden Sands in August 2006.it is a lovely place with a lovely beach .plenty of shops and restaraunts and bars for you all along the front. There were plent of discos for the young people some open till 5am.!!!!!We walked along the front and there were plent of thing to do there. Jet skis.Paragliding etc.The highlight of our holiday was the Pirate ship trip.YOu go out to sea and have a water fight with another ship .What a good time we had plenty to drink and games on this trip which is about 3hrs long. But we booked it in the town as it was cheaper than doing it through the rep.WE would defnitaly do this again.

Unashamedly vulgar and my wife and I loved it.
More attractions this year and getting better. We did encounter the odd foul smell but nothing over the top.
Loads of things to keep the kids amused before they go to bed.
You feel 100% safe as there is no rowdiness whatsoever.
We found the beaches spotless.

The resort is clean, with plenty of shopping although the prices are the same on every stall and every stall sells the same things.
The beech was very busy, and so was the pool area, we did find an area of beech a bit quieter just past the old jetty, although this is a private beech so you do have to hire a sun bed/brolly.
The beech is beautifull and the sea is very clean although there is quite a lot of jelly fish on some of the days we were there.

Do not expect to find an "old town". It is quiet simply a resort. But, that been said, it is a lovely place.
The beach is spotless and the sand is indeed golden. One complaint we had was the tiny amount of space available to lie out, if you are not paying for chairs and unbrellas.
The sea was warm and on occasions had some great big waves in which jumped about in,like schoolkids.
There are loads of restaraunts, our favourites were the Girvana, which is modelled on a hunters lodge and has some Bulgarian folk dancers entertaing the customers each night. Sinbads, had some beautiful Lebannese foods and there is one restaraunt,(can't remember the name), just at the main entrance to the Marina Grand Hotel, which served a lovely T bone steak with potatoes and salad for €9.
I would advise people to careful when going on the trips ect.. as safety is not as well licensed as here in Western Europe. We went on a sailing trip out to sea, only to find there were 18 of us on a 24ft craft, with no life jackets!
The main strip runs for 4 kilometres and apart from the usual trinkets, you can buy excellent quality copies of all the main clothes labels, also DVD and CD copies.
There are some "ladies of the night" plying there wares, but this seems to be in a very limited area outside "Bonkers" on party street. They are friendly and are only trying to make a living.
The International Casino is good for a nights entertainment, but be careful with the money, you can get carried away.
We really enjoyed our stay in Golden Sands and it may well be the first resort that we will make a return trip to.

The resort in general was very clean, and round the clock evidence of street cleaners all in uniforms - many hotels had open air live shows with plenty of bars and seating - night life plenty of clubsetc - on the beach there was plenty of beds to hire, and plenty of willing waiters to supply anything you required whilst on the beach.
The locals were were pleasant and helpful, there was miles of shops and market type stalls, plenty of local food to eat and fruits to buy, and the local alcohol was cheap and tasty.
We certainly will return to the resort for longer than 7 days next time - even though it was all football there were no drunken yobbish behavior and a good time was had by all
