The resort smelt like a harbour I appreciate it is a seaside resort but when it rained and then the sun came out there was aromas like you would expect at Fleetwood fish market.
The sea was full of jelly fish that did not seem to bother anyone but the floating carrier bags empty pop bottles, crisp packets and ladies p/liners did make the sea uninviting to my family anyway!

Bulgaria is very cheap and it is a "designer blaggers" paradise and I would advise anyone wishing to visit goes now before they join the EU as it will price itself out. An example of this is the airport they have just changed the Lleva sign to a Euro sign so you can see things are going to more than double in price.

The airport has very basic facilities my personal advice to anyone is buy sandwiches, pop, water, beer etc in resort as the airport is a "ripoff" . 3 Euro for a can of bulgarian beer = approx £2.10 that is dearer than Manchester airport? Does not make sense does it?

love Golden sands(harbour side), the beach the weather, loads of places to go to eat and drink.

I would recommend this for family's. if you want more to do you can get the mini train to the opposite end of the resort but be careful there are only 2 trains which go the whole of the way down( orange and purple and blue and red), two others (blue and white ones) only go half way for the same price. The trains cost 2levs each person and always try to catch them from the fishermans village, as it gets full.

The beach at this part of the resort is greatand not as crowded at the othr end. There are always beds available at a cost of 6levs each for a bed and parasol.

The private bar serves snacks on the beach (cheap too)(man in a hat). be aware that there is jelly fish in the sea but only a few. we stayed on the beach loads and no one had any problems.

Large beer is 2.50(80p) levs and cocktails are 6levs(around £2). However, there is a bar passed the fishermans village, if you go up the path through the boat yard, there is a bar on the beach, which a large beer is 1.50 lev(50p) cheap as chips.

I would go back to Golden Sands again next year. The weather is hot during the day and cool at night. Great for everyone for sleeping

just arrived back from the best holiday i have ever had. the weather is perfect. the beach is fantastic with all the required water sports , and the safety of lifeguards every 200 yards.Found a bar called the vectis tavern which is owned by an english couple, mick & carol. it is the only place where you can get really decent food , which is cooked properly, i.e. cooked all the way through. also the only place to get a full english breakfast including proper pork sausages. the entertainment is out of this world with a nine man gypsy band ,you have never heard the electric violin played this way before. unbelievable.

As we were All Inclusive, we did not spend a lot of time in the resort. There were many bars and restaurants, most had entertainment in them. The prices of food and drink were cheap and the quality of food seemed to be good. we walked around the resort in the evening before returning to our hotel. The streets were quite lively with many nationalities present and it felt quite safe to walk around even in the dark as long as you stuck to busy areas. You could buy designer clothes quite cheaply, fake of course, but who would know back home, unless you told them. This was our second visit to Golden Sands, and for the price we paid,it was excellent value for money, and we may return again in the future.

The resort its self was very clean there were lady cleaners around most of the day cleaning the pool showers and wash the toilets out.

The beach was clean too no rubbish around and always guards about lots of beds and parasols handy at the start of the day, but as we went to beach after lunch there was a fight for beds.

The pavements need improving as some very poorly cracked and uneven. I feel in time this will be a nice place to visit but now its no where ready for tourist's and families with small children.

I did spot a few ladies every night 9-11pm handing out leaflets for clubs not your standard club either, they didn't care if the wives were with them and they kids where there to.

The mosquito's were a problem too, take lots of creams and tummy upset pills the prices went through the roof when you came to buy them.

Over all some prices were cheap as chips others over priced, Over all out of 10 ill give hotel 6,rooms 9,staff 8,food 9,overall cleanness 7,beach (only) 8,entertainment very poor 2,prices 7,main roads 6,weather 5.
