We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

Benidorm, Magaluf, Ibiza, etc. etc. Very repetitive, if you want cheap fake goods, this is the place to go.
Food in the restaurants was always fantastic, though we did have a few dodgy meals.
Local tipple cheap, and the staff at the Kharma bar & restaurant were always entertaining.

Beach excellent - plenty of tat and fake shops - Djanny's for food - The Winmdill (on edge of town a little further on from the end of the route in Sunny Beach for the buses from Nessarbar) for Entertainment - Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday at around 9pm.
Other than that do to Nessarbar often and go in trips - off road advanture is good and Istanbul unforgettable. Varna can be done from bus station (less than 2 hours each way) is worth the visit (tickets at bus station) and Bourgas is worth a stroll - regular 20 minute bus service from bus station - pay on bus.

Sunny Beach is very nice and the hotel was a bit back from the beach but it cut down on the noise from the bars.

The beach is great but can get crowded but is large enough for everyone to have a spot. I'd reccommend going at 5-6 when the waves are getting up great fun to jump and the water is shallow for about a 100 feet. The resort itself is one big row of shops and bars the shops tend to sell the same things and at the same price. If you do go I would reccommend you take a photo of your family as there are some wonderful portrait painters. Remember to bring a raincoat or at least an umbrella as the showers can be heavy and you have to queue outside the airport on your return journey for some time. Most importantly bring lots of insect repellant and a machine for the room nearly everyone got bitten some fairly badly needing medical attention

Bulgaria being a poor country you can't expect much from cleanliness. You have to pay to use the toilets. Some I must say are disgusting, I paid to get in 1 then looked at the toilet and thought Oh My God! Am I really that desperate.
There was a big thunderstorm and all the drains could not cope with the water and the smell was unreal. It smelt like dead bodies! I swear.
There is a lack of entertainment, didn't see any comedy acts, shows or anything!
It is way behind in the times compared to Spain. It is like Spain in the 80's. Although a holiday is what you make it and I did have a good time.
I found the nightlife boring. All the discos were crap and full of Germans. The place died after midnight? Being 20years old I found this somewhat bemusing. There was not a lot to do for young people.
I would go back maybe when I have kids, more a family resort than a young persons party place.

You would be hard to please if you could not find anything to do here as there was loads even if it was raining. Food and drink really cheap, you could have a night out as cheap or as expensive as you want to make it depending on where you ate. All ages catered for would definately go again.

The beach is amazing. Go there. Sea is so warm. Watch out for jelly fish. Lots of entertainment and things to do.
Entertainment - only had 3 nightclubs which weren't that great (one was at the other end of the resort from us, a 45 min walk). Some bars, but the music was on a loop and you heard the same songs everywhere you went (have the Bulgarians not heard of Kylie?).
Loads of restaurants, some serving horrible, horrible food, but we found a really nice italian restuarant which saved the day.
Unfortunately we saw bears and snakes, child beggars and prostitutes. You have to learn to ignore it, or if could really upset you. Lets hope the authorities crack down on this now that Bulgaria is part of the EU.
Unfortunately we have been put off Bulgaria, but maybe we'll visit again in 10 years to see if anything has been improved.

The resort of Sunny Beach was not very clean. They had bins but they were always full so the resort had rubbish everywhere.
There were lots of restaraunts but we could never find a single bar that didn't serve food you got bored of.
There was only one place to go and that was were the beachside shops were there was nowhere else to go.
The beach was great the water was boiling hot and the sand was very soft. I would not go bach to Bulgaria again there was hardly anything in the resort...

The resort of Sunny beach is obviously an up and coming resort popular with many nationalities, however if I had a gripe it was the condition of the roads and footpaths, not very pedestrian friendly.
However there is a great atmosphere especially in the evening with hundreds of 'market type stalls selling everything from souveniers to dolche and gabana jeans etc (not the genuine article but who cares) Not the place for a quiet holiday, with plenty of clubs and bars and for the wanten Brit there is Sky sports showing football and rugby at many bars.
There were some persistant hawkers on the streets and you have to watch your pockets - but don't you anywhere these days. The sight of a brown bear being paraded around was not what you wanted to see.
The beach was very clean and accessible with lots of beds and parasols for hire and other activities such as paragliding and other tow along rides. It was busy, more so at the weekend, so I guess the locals used it too.
With a water park a short (3 minutes) free bus ride away this adds another day out to the schedule, with reasonably priced food on site.
Generally plenty of things to do and see.
Can't be too bad if we are re visiting this year 2007
