We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

A lovely resort with plenty of entertainment, prices were excellent, however now they have joined the euro we will prob notice a difference this year. There are two waterparks one of which you pass on the way from the airport this is supposed to be the best one. We went to the other one which was quite expensive and not nearly as big as any other we have visited. Plenty of good restaurants/bars serving lovely food, and Nessebar is well worth a visit as it is a beautiful wee resort with cobbled streets.

Sunny Beach, up and coming resort.. A little dirty here and there but one of the best places I have been. I am going again this year and looking forward to it.

The resort was large and very commercial but everything is located in the same area entertainment wise. If you do venture away from the main strip though it does seem a very different place, the buildings off the strip are in stark contrast to the grandiose new hotels that have been built but I personally kept my activities to the main area.

resort was fantastic although the pathway uneven with broken tiles when wearing flipflops could be a problem.
bulgarian people very friendly and although we were halfboard oftern ate out as there are so many restraunts to choose from. a lovely walk through day and night and no trouble. view across the beach was amazing and at night the resort came alive. excellent resort well worth the visit.

The resort is basically a long strip of pubs, restaurants and shops between the beach (which is very nice) and the main road which runs parallel to the beach about 500m away.
They were still getting ready for the start of the season while i was there - the resort doesn't really kick off until mid-late may so don't go before that unless you want a very quiet holiday.
When you're there, make sure to visit Nessebar (lovely old town) - you can get a bus for 20p from the top of the main square. the town market - full of stalls selling cheap "designer" clothes is also there. Try to go on the day-trip to the blue mountains (avoid the Bulgarian folk-night).
The resort itself wouldn't have enough to keep you occupied (theres a water park just outside town but it wasn't very big) which is why I recommended the day-trips - you'd get very bored if going for two weeks.
They're building new apartment blocks everywhere although the building work is supposed to stop for the summer season. food, drink and clothes are all very cheap (meal and a pint for £3 at the james joyce !)so good if you're on a budget.
Overall, a pleasant enough holiday but glad to get back.

Sunny beach had a lot of nightlife which went on into the early hours of the morning.
If you are going anywhere for a meal try a restaurant called djannys. The food is great the drinks are really cheap and the service is good.
For entertainment go to tropicana on a tues and friday as they have bingo on(thats if you like it). The is another few places that have good bands on too.
The beaches are lovely and soft sand. we didnt really go on much but when we did they were spotless.

The resort was very quiet and not much was open especially the first week.
Places for eating were JAMES JOYCE (PART OF THE KORAL HOTEL) across the main road at the centre JUST REMEMBER AND ASK FOR YOUR STEAK WELL DONE AND HOT,HOT,HOT as the Bulgarians usually only serve warm food.
We used to eat in the reggatta last year and found the food to be out of this world, but this year the famous chef with his white hat and handle bar mousetache has gone, the food is still okay but not as good, but then we found the old chef in the FOREST HUT (under new management) across from the corner pub, the bacardi club and the Mexico bar.
The food and drink was fantastic and cheap so was the little waiter (ANGEL) I would certainly go back to this hotel but a little later in the season so things were up and running.
If you like bingo you can go to the Tropicana on the beach front on a Tuesday and Friday night and try to win duty free and then try and win the usually huge amount of lev on the last flyer, it was paying out approx £71 a line and £280 a full house, it starts at 8pm offically but unoffically 8.30pm but try to be early if you are wanting a seat especially in the busier part of the season.

Sunny beach is clean and safe,we saw no prostitutes or beggars and the bars are very nice...only one bad point was when we went in one of the bars for a drink..the bill came to double what was on the menu???..and when we questioned this,we were told it was an old price list!!!!...we paid the price we saw on the menu, that was it and we didnt tip either because we felt as if we were being ripped off which im sure that was what they were trying to do...so beware!
Lovely beach with golden sand and safe sea to swim.
Beware of pick pockets...need i say more?..we were ok but look out!

The resort was very clean considering it was being turned into one giant building site. The Bulgarians could however learn a thing or two about road building and especially constructed pavements correctly as I tripped a fair few times on paving slabs that were there and then suddenly not. Yes you do encounter a few Prostitutes and Beggars but if you are polite and keep walking, and put your hand up they seem to get the message easily enough. They could do with more street lighting in some parts as well.
Although I didn't spend much time on it, the beach seemed very nice. I went for a walk down it and played Volleyball on it and it seemed good, Do watch out for those Jellyfish though!
Plenty of restaraunts caters for everyone, from Mexican to Chinese to local restaraunts to Mcdonalds.
The one thing that let Sunny Beach down in my opinion is the entertainment. It is fine for families and couples, but not quite so for either young groups or single people.
As someone who visited SB on my own, I lkie to be able to walk into a bar to discover that they have some sort of entertainment happening, be it Karaoke, Disco, Band, Cabaret or whatever. I found just about enough but not in abundance. So be prepared to talk to the other members of your party during this holiday.
Parents, be prepared to disclose what an Erotic show is to your children as there are plenty of these advertised and in view whilst walking around.
Also every Bulgarian should have inked skin or holes in them with the abundance of Tattoo/Piercing parlours that are around, why are there so many!!
I did have a great week though, Weather was lovely, Hotel was great (Chaika Beach) and met some lovely people, both tourists and locals. Enjoy
