We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

The resort consists of a really long strip with the beach on one side and hotels on the other. There are a few streets which branch of the strip and are worh exploring. We didnt see any beggars or prostitutes but then we were'nt looking for them. On one occasion we saw a bear being paraded for photos and we regularly saw a snake being handed round, these seem to attract the most attention from the Germans.
There is plenty of variety on the strip, bars restaurants, clothes, souveniers, knives, air guns, you name it and you'll find it there. Most of the bars run a happy hour. The beach gets extremely busy and as a result we avoided it prefering to stay around the hotel pool. On a few occasions groups of English teenagers ran through the strip chanting things like "lets go f**king mental, lets go..." we found this really embarrasing because the first question any of the stall holders, waiters, etc has for you is "are you English?"
Watch out for the electric scooters and buggys as they tend to get driven by idiots who zoom up behind you. Also avoid the change booths as we saw quite a few people arguing with them about being ripped off, just change your money in the hotel or bank

This was my first visit to Sunny Beach and without a doubt the best thing about Bulgaria is the Bulgarian people. Very friendly and a good laugh and happy to help.
Resort is very clean, which is amazing considering the number of flyers handed out each evening. They must have litter pickers out in force each night! Beach is raked each evening but you still find quite a few cigarette ends in the sand. We stuck with the pool mainly.
The main strip is loads of small shops selling fake designer bags, sunglasses, watches and clothes, silver jewellery, other jewellery, small supermarkets. There are loads of bars and restaurants also, and a few casinos and night clubs. Outside each restaurant there is somebody offering you a table. They never were too pushy (I found them much pushier in greece and spain) and were quite good fun. If you just say no thanks, they just say have a nice evening, maybe tomorrow. We did have one original guy approach us and say 'there you are, do you know how difficult it has been keeping your table free all night for you!'
Food and drink is unbelievably cheep and delicious. the five of us could have a three course meal with lots of cocktails (8 each plus beer!)for about £35. Cocktails are pretty much but one get one free everywhere. Would definetly recommend maestroze for food and
We visited Nessebar a few times and loved it. Definetly worth a visit. Its only about 20p buy bus, or £5 by taxi. You can even get a boat back to sunny beach for 10 lev each (about £3). The clothes etc are actually a bit cheeper at Nessebar.
Lots to do, jetskies, horse riding on the beach (either accompanied or unaccompanied for about £7, parasailing, bananaboats, boat trips, fishing trips, water park, jeep safaris.
We choose to go on holiday for the last two weeks of June because we thought it would not be too hot for my two year old... not once did the temp fall below 32, we even had a few days where it was 43 degrees. Not one single day of rain either! We took some cardigans etc for the evening and didnt wear any of them until we arived back at Gatwick Airport!
I had heard some scarey reports that I was a little worried about before we went... to answer these:
* Prostitutes: Never saw any. There are a few strip clubs and we did see some of the girls walking around handing out flyers but that is as far as it went. If my husband was walking with me and our son they never even gave him a flyer.
* Dancing Bears: We did see one idiot (cant type anything stronger!) with a bear in chains. Poor animal looked mentally broken. Personnaly I was really upset seeing the bear but I was encouraged that we only saw this once, and we walked up the parade every evening. I think it is something which is becoming much less popular. The british made it quite clear what they thought about the man, but I am saddened to say there were some others who were taking photos encouraging him.
There were also some people with snakes and an iguana for you to have your photo taken with if you wished, but again not pushy.
* Jelly Fish: Saw three in the whole two weeks and they are quite small (but big enough to see)
* Porn on TVs: Yes, but not until after midnight when youngsters are fast asleep.
We flew to/from Bourgas airport which we had been warned was pure hell. Actually we must have been very lucky. We had no delays. You do have to queue through passport controll when you arrive which took about an hour, but our bags were only then another 15 minutes so we were on our coach reasonably quickly. Flying home was even quicker. Obviously the airport is no gatwick/heathrow and there is little for shopping or refreshment so take water at least.
Hope this helps!

The conductor of the cho cho train that that brings you down the strip got very annoyed with at least two couples because they had buggies for their tots(he lost 2euros for the seat)but charged for the babies anyway, very rude banging the buggies, should learn some manners, it is these young families that spend their money in Bulgaria, a week was definitely enough, nothing but rows of junk and not as cheep as people say, set prices in all of them, no competion, we wondered who sets the prices? will not be going back at least until they respect the tourist.Sunny Beach was not what we expected, be careful changing your money, only use crown or banks, we had to protest to get the correct rate and not before the dealer used some foul language. however the sun was shining and most people ware nice.

Sunny Beach is purpose built - it has no soul but it has everything you need for a sun holiday. Very cheap acceptable food - we had a 3 course meal, wine and 3 beers each in the Condor Garden for less than €20 for two adults. The dearest meal we had was a chinese which was about €35 including wine for two adults.
Sunny Beach is quite close to Nessebar - which is beautiful (well the old town is anyhow) and has all the history you need on holiday.
We also went to Bourgas - its about 30 minutes. Lots of shopping. Different to Sunny Beach - not the "designer" labels but nice cheap clothes.
We also went to Istanbul - this journey although a bit tiring was nowhere near as bad as I'd expected it to be.

It is well below European standards. Didnt feel very safe. Nothing to buy only fake Gucci and Prada goods. Dont need to go to Bulgaria for that. No real Bulgarian experience. Resembles a very degraded "Ballymun in the sun". Not particularly clean, this was very evident when it rained during the stay and there was sewerage floating around due to lack of drainage and clean up resourses.Entertainment is only for the young who want to dance to Techno all night.
Saw a bear on a leash in the beating sun, as in, a grisly bear. Need I say more? Wouldnt ever go back and wouldnt ever recommend it to anyone. Your hotel might be four star but it in the middle of a ghetto.

The resort is tidy but lacks bins i do think it looks tacky in places but you can get that anywhere you go i did feel safe all the two weeks we were there in sunny beach and not pestered by bulgarians like we were in Turkey.
They have some nice bars and chilling out ones.
the beach is nice and sea for swimming in.
i would only go back with my family for a week. i think that is enough has i don't think it's a pretty place just bar after bar. but all in all we had sun for seven full day's

The resort was very clean. The bars were brill happy hour 24/7 and very cheap at that.
I found it hard to spend my money. The beach was the best I have been on for a long time. Plenty of water sports and massage places along the sea front.

Fantastic ... Loved every bit of it although I don't think I would like to stay in the centre of sunny beach because I think it could get a bit noisy. The shopping is great and so cheap. I had a pair of Victoria Beckham and Versace jeans for £20 each and the quality is really good. There were some really bad quality copies but on the whole the clothes are great value if you dont mind wearing fakes!! The boys had football strips that worked out to just £8. A trip to Nessebar is a must ... we went twice in one week. You can get a boat there and back if you want to and it was lovely. The people there are very nice although we did come accross a few who were very nice when they thought you were buying but if you didnt they got quite huffy about it. I read a report about prostitutes and beggers outside every other bar. Well we didnt see one prostitute at all and no one approached us for money altho there were a few beggars on the side of the roads with pots out for money to be put in.
There was nothing I dislike about Sunny Beach at we cant wait to go back next year!!

Traditional bulgarian nights can be had at bistro hashove just around the corner from djannys you will see a gent with a walking stick outside.
We had many a good night there and he likes to be called Jimmy watch out for his free samples of raki which he calls viagra.
Sunny Beach is lovely and a lot of new hotels and apartments have been built since our visit 3 yr ago.
Will go back to the resort in the near future.
