We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

The beach was the main part of our holiday not the pool. One problem with the beach it cost £12.50 (30 lev) a day for 4 sunbeds and a brolly which can add up in 2weeks.
Be careful of the speedboats they can get close to swimmers if you go out a little further into the sea even though there are lifeguards. The best way to sum up Sunnybeach its like your Magaluf/San Antonnio resorts cheap booze and discos till 4am.
The cheap copies of clothing will fall apart in its first wash and the copies are 3years older than the copies in Turkey.
Our Reps were unhelpful and did not even say hello first avoided the eye contact. The trips with the reps were expensive do it locally. Nessabar for four cost just over a £1. Bourgas was not very intresting.
The small waterpark at the Kuban which has 8 slides next the hotel was good for the kids cost £6 each then just £2 for the sunbeds.

Very busy in the height of summer but caters for everyone. tons of bars/restaurants, people very friendly. Beach is great and has jet skis, banana boats and all the usual water based activites. 2 aqua parks - both good fun and reasonably priced entrance fee (26lv p.p). Nessebar beautiful - go in the evening when its not so busy.

Clean beaches with comfy sun beds.
Very busy in the centre (and more expensive) and a lot of load music. Nice pubs round hotel. All have a singer or something to entertain.
Plenty of crazy golf courses. Upsetting to see the bear on a chain walking the streets, and the horses standing in the sun all day without shade, but otherwise a great place.
Watch out for the mozzies and the electric scooters and golf buggies but they are fun.

It's 15 years since we first visited Sunny Beach and everything about the place has changed. It's on a par with the Spanish type of resorts now. Although it's a shame it's lost some of it's original charm.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars, all of them welcome children.
It can be a bit limited for kids of an evening time, as apart from crazy golf, and a very small fair ground area, there isn't a great deal for them to do. There is a small train which goes around the resort for a couple of leva. So you can get around quite reasonably. The local buses take you up to Nezebar for under 1 leva.
Be careful where you change money, some hotels are very reasonable, so shop around, don't be tempted by the boards outside the street exchanges, their rates are not what they advertise, you get alot less than you expect. Enjoy!

While the shopping in the resort was fantastic and weather was glorious there were real areas of concern in the resort. A lot of beggars - some in very distressing conditions. I was also shocked at the exploitation of animals in the resort - lots of people with extremely large snakes which they would plop on you shoulders for a photo op. I'm not scared of snakes but they weren't in good conditons - a lot had mites/were dirty. Also saw a couple of men with crocodiles with mouths taped shut. Most distressingly there were dancing bears on main strip every night being treated appallingly. After ten in the evening, family bars turned into strip clubs with a lot of prostitutes about.

The resort itself is fine if you prefer lively, there is entertainment eveywhere. You need to be on your guard as there are teame of pickpockets all over and the police are less than helpful (my partner had her purse snatched).
The beach gets very crowded after 10an sun beds are 6 levs per day.
We would be prepared to visit again but not for some time.

We would recommend Sunny Beach and would visit again. There is a huge choice of places to eat and drink spread over the large resort. The bars regularly have "happy hour" on local cocktails. Most bars have cabaret, some of higher standard than others. The beach and sea was nice and clean.

We stayed in Sunny Beach and I just thought the place was falling to bits.
You,ll be walking along a path which in parts just crumbles under your feet. There was a lot happening on the main drag, although i did not like the fact of all the doped animals that they throw round you , take a picture, then practically demand 10 levs for it.
We even saw a fella with a bear in shackles its feet and was dragging it by a ring in its nose, sick. Watch out for the people selling fruit on the streets, we were ripped off.
You can,t walk down the main drag without getting constantly pestered by Bulgarians wanting you to eat in there place, by the second week you feel like ripping there heads off.
Beach is beautiful with loads happening. Would never go back to bulgaria again, very poor place.
Not a holiday place.

The resort was just a resort it could have been anywere there was nothing unique about it no ancient ruins or anything balgarian just a beach hotels and restraunts and it was just about making money out of you.. Nothing was free and I mean nothing you were charged 20 pence for the toilet in lots of bars and restraunts even if you were eating or drinking there.
You were also followed about by fruit sellers trying to charge you 15 levs about 6 quid for a half pound of cherries they are all pure con artists and unless you tell them to go away they will hound you the whole day knowing that people will relent and give in to the constant pressure..
People who had been there last year said prices had doubled and that must of been true.. Food wasn't cheap an average lunch about £4.50 a main course without a drink or starter. Coke was £1 and the beer was horrid so I was drinking import and that was the same price as back home.... Save yourself the heartache and go to Marmaris in Turkey...
