We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

busy resort
happy hour all day
food good
some pavements are a bit ropy on the front,
watch out for tourist on the electric cars, scooter,
bikes,in the pedestrian zones which is busy
its a surprise nobodys been killed
with young kids you are looking out all the time ,it should be banned.
why do this, you wouldnt back home because its too dangerous
especially letting kids about 10 drive motorbikes etc,
good transport service
overall good,cheap,
but preferred golden sands

The beach was excellent with plenty of room but you had to pay for the privilege, which comes as a shock if you are not used to paying, but we were left with no choice when we see the overcrowding around the pool. They couldn't get another lounger there if they tried. We enjoyed the holiday but will not be returning.

I have never been to such a big resort as sunnybeach its huge it seems to never end . Loads and loads of shops and places to eat and drink . You would not be dissapointed. I did see the man with the bear ( Please ignore this person ). I never saw the ladys of the night or beggers , fantastic resort worth a visit. Weather was fantastic . Nessabar is worth a visit 20p on the bus or 20 lev in a taxi or you could take the boat 10 lev. Fantastic resort for any age.

Resort was nice if a bit "Blackpool in the sun".
Only saw one group of persistent beggars who were easily dismissed. Later saw them grouped with their "controllers".
Restaurant recommendations:-
Condor - Cheap, filling, friendly
Bobby's Bar - Very friendly, reasonable.
Windmill - Slightly out of town, good food, folk programme and best staff.
Raffaelo's - Nice Italian.
Arizona - Steak tasted gorgeous and good band, but BIG stomach upset next day.
Marbella - Good food and cool karaoke with DJ Damian.
Forget the BOGOF cocktails, a cup of Nescafe has more alcohol.
Tattoo artist by Fisherman's hut very competent, but slow, talking to his mates, but I am very pleased with his work.

I have been to Bulgaria in winter last year so knew what to expect of country, people are poor, very poor. outside resort it is very run down as standard of living is bad. The resort itself is very clean, and if you like staying put in a resort then there is plenty to do,hundreds of bars and restaurants with cheap, although prices are rising quite fast and will do next year when euro is currency, found restaurants and bars where dearer on the beach side of main road, best off on oppositeeeeeeeee side. I found it a bit Blackpooly so to speak, beach is 8km long and very clean, ideal for families. Not a greta deal to do on trip side of things, khans tent very good, bulgarian folk night ok, blue mountains trip not bad but not for kids although 2 hrs on coach. Wouldnt bother with istanbul, it would be nice but 7 hrs on coach !!! no way.

Sunny Beach is a tacky, dirty and dangerous resort with little to offer.
The neach is the only nice thing in the whole place. The streets are full of holes and cracks to the point where you have to watch your every step. It is filthy. Don't expect to have a relaxing stroll down the main strip, golf buggy, scooters and bikes fly up and down, sometimes driven by young kids. We saw 2 golf buggies crashing and a woman coming within an inch of being knocked down.
Animal cruelty is upsetting and disgusting - a dancing bear, snakes, alligators and injured, starving wild dogs.
The shopping is very poor. Most of the stuff is tacky and cheap looking.
Food is very hit and miss. Djannys in the marketplace was the only restaurant I can honestly say I really enjoyed.
We tried to make the most of our 2 weeks by going on trips. Sozopol and Nessesbar are nice towns, but the river cruise on the Sozopol trip is a waste of time. The shopping trip to the flea market and Burgas is awful, espcially the market. We were given 2 hours there and had finished it in 15mins! The Gipsy Camp and Khans Tent entertainment nights are good fun. A lot of the trips are hours on a couch so we didn't do some of the further ones like Sofia, Poldiv etc.
Food and drink are cheap but service is so bad you have to laugh. The people are mostly helpful when asked, although some were very rude. But, you could find that anywhere I suppose.
The weather was good - mid 30s with ony 2 afternoons of rain.
I read a lot of people comparing Bulgaria to Turkey - I have been to Marmaris 7 times and believe me, Sunny Beach has a long, long way to go before it gets anywhere near the standard of that resort.
My advice - uless you are looking for a dirt cheap boozed up holiday avoid Sunny Beach.

I would love to go back to a decent hotel here as the resort is lovely and the locals can be freindly and the beach is very clean and there is a very safe feeling no trouble at all which is good, although there is not a big police presence you know people are watching you, didnt like the supermarkets the staff follow you around the shop and make you put your bags in a locker at the door, not all of them but everywhere you are being followed.
sunny beach is very busy and all the shops and markets are selling the same stuff just prices vary I might return one day when the food is better and the hotels learn what 4 stars really mean.

The resort is generally ok but they do tend to leave rubbish piled in the street until its collected, which i think is twice a week by some bloke in a little van and the 'prom' is in need of some repair work to some major potholes!! The beach was always very clean. The main 'prom' is ok for a couple of nights out but then it all gets a bit samey, there is a simulator and a 4D cinema which are both good fun, lots of bungees, bucking broncos, and hair braiding stalls and of course all your favourite fake designer goods. The beach has good quality sand and plenty of water sports but does get very crowded as you would expect at the height of the season. We did not see or hear of any pickpocketing or thefts although they do say to be aware of them. Nessebar is worth a trip we went on the bus from the bus stop opposite the front of the hotel and came back on the boat, the boat coast 10 levs each which is £4.
To summarise i dont think we would go back to this resort it is to commercial and is very much like the spanish costas...but i suppose if you like the costas you'll like this place. Its also worth mentioning that the airport at Bourgas is an absolute hell hole! The size of the airport is not capable of coping with the amount of people it is bringing in or taking out. Very long delays going in and out of customs, so again be warned and be prepared to wait.

Resort is bigger than i expected and you can grab bargains if you shop about. Food and drink is cheap beer from 1 lev =35p upto 3 lev =£1.05 we got 6 meals and two rounds of drinks ranging from 40 lev upto 75lev.
Just be carefull when changing money we always exchanged at the crown exchanges and had no problems dont change on the streets.
you do see some beggers with kids etc and the crocadile and snakes in the centre but if you ignore and just walk past they dont bother you.
just go with a open mind and you will enjoy

The beach was very clean and tidy. The watersports were plentiful and very cheap £20 for 15 minutes on the jetskies and 336 for two people on the parasailing.
The beach was very bust but there was plenty of loungers around for all.
Very good holiday all round. Would recommend it.
