We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

Sunny beach is an excellent resort with something for all age groups, my 18 and 19 yr olds certainly had a ball between the shopping beach and clubs.
For me it was ideal as we were slightly out of the thick of it and I could relax knowing that the kids were happy. The beaches are fantastic and the sand is so white and soft. Nessebar is also a good resort slightly quieter than Sunny beach but equally as nice.
To sum up it was one of the best holidays we have had in a long time and we will definitely be back!

Sunny Beach is beautiful. The sea and the beach is first class (blue flag) with many sports possibilities.
The resort is a big happy city, you can not sleep. There is a lot of bars, restaurants, clubs, shops - you can spend the money for your joy on a good value/price ratio.
The restaurant Juzhni Nochi is very good with games for chidren, revue for adults, limbo competition and tasty foods. The price for 11 persons with drinks and foods was 160 Leva (100 EUR)!
Finally, it is worth to visit!

Sunny Beach is a purpose built tourist resort with all the amenities you would expect, but does not represent the country of Bulgaria at all.
Drive out of the resort and you find the real Bulgaria, very nice countryside, little villages and poverty.
Unfortunatly Bulgaria is about 20 years behind the other major european countries but trying hard to catch up.
The Resort is kept very clean despite the obvious lack of litter bins which would be very handy to get rid of the handfulls of leaflets given out by the restaurants and bars. There is plenty of entertainment available, bars, restaurants, clubs and a couple of disco's.
The restaurants are excellent, we ate out every night and never had a bad meal, and very cheap.
Four of us had a very good meal, 2 bottles of wine and 3 rounds of drinks and it cost about £9-50 each.
Beer about 50p a pint,a double vodka and fresh orange £1-50
The promonade was lined both sides with stalls selling just about anything you want from watches, clothes,CD's, DVD's, paintings, sunglasses, football shirts and shoes all very cheap and all copies.
Watch out for kids riding up and down on silent electric bikes and electric buggies. They come at you from behind with no sound and are very dangerous when you are walking, they should be banned off the front, someone is going to get seriously hurt.
The beach is very long, very clean and has hundreds of sunbeds and brollies available. There are lifeguards on duty and a coloured flag warning system for when it is safe or dangerous sea conditions. You can get fresh fruit, drinks and a massage on the beach.
The sea was very clean and warmer than the pool and contains very little salt. there are assorted watersports available.
Would not recommend the organised trips, they are very unorganised, went on 2 trips not impressed at all.
Only change money at hotel or Crown exchange booths,do not change money on the streets you will get ripped off.
Can recommend Bistro Billy's or Forest Hut Restaurants for a really good cheap meal.

The Bulgarian people are very clean always sweeping and cleaning.
The resort has loads for everyone, the restraunts are amazing the waiter are the most friendly I have ever encountered. They were giving us presents when we left, Rhodopean was the best.
You should try the Gypsie camp good show and khans tent but don't book Monday nights show it's German night.

Sunny Beach is a nice pleasant resort. I think it is ideal for young families or for the 17-25's as I get the feeling it could turn in to the next Falaraki.
There is a lot of building work going on but it is stretching further back from the main area - however a concern is if a young family end up in one of these apartments further back there is a busy main road and it is a bit of a nightmare to cross it.
Eating out was quite cheap and there is plenty to choose from, although it does sometimes feel like timeshare for restaurants as you cannot go by one without being hassled to go in to it. Fat Cat's, Andersens and The Picadilly were nice places to eat.
Overall we enjoyed our time in Sunny Beach and although not for our next holiday we would think about going again.

Cleanliness of Sunny Beach was better than I had expected always people out sweeping the paths and never really saw much rubbish laying around on the ground.
Entertainment at night was pretty poor having two kids age 8 & 3 they got bored at night we didnt see much at all for the children to do.

The best bar in the resort is Franko's its next door to Meridian Hotel. We started and ended every night there.
Tommy the bar man is the biggest legend going, he seems to work 24 hours a day!!! He's the crazy one with blond dread locks and a bandana shouting and being a bit mental. Mladen is the fit waiter who is also a bit crazy he came out with us every night and showed us the places to go.
Without a doubt The staff at Franko's made our holiday!!!
There are a million bars and who knows what they are called but every single one is cheap and open until forever!!
The clubs are really cool as well. Iceburg has a band on every nightg go on a Tuesday for the best band, Lazur is dance and RnB with 2 swimming pools its massive and ram packed, XL is an RnB club. Even the club drinks are cheap a double vodka lemonade and lime will cost you £1.50!! woo hoo!!!
If your looking for variety Sunny Beach is the place to go, as everything is quite spread out families can go without being bothered by us young'uns getting a little worse for wear!
If you want to have a good old booze up laze by the beach and spend a pittance go to Sunny Beach!!!

SB was great but big! We had a fortnight but still didn't cover the whole resort. A wealth of things to do and kids will love the variety of activities while you try to choose from the large amounts of pubs & restaurant’s to visit. We even found “paintball” near Disco Orange.
Imagine our surprise when visiting the TROYA bar just past DJANNY’S in the market where our first round of drinks cost just over £1!! Obviously, the nearer to the centre of the action – things do become a bit pricier but nothing in comparison to home!
We didn’t have a bad meal the whole time, on average we paid about £17 for 2 adults (2 courses) 1 child and a round of drinks.
A shopping heaven, take £100 and an empty suitcase and you could buy all your holiday gear there. Not just designer rip-offs, gypsy skirts etc. (very this season) for £7. One place to check out would be the cash & carry’s on the road past the entrance to the Aquapark. We never got a chance but were told that they sell T-shirts etc cheaper than the market stalls and are also excellent for food & drink.
Bad points
 The resort is very commercialised but at least everything is on your doorstep.
 Some of the public toilets are a bit grotty but generally clean.
 The locals speak English far too well, I had little opportunity to try out my Bulgarian but it always raised a laugh or smile when I did.
 There is a lot of building work going on but it wasn’t that noisy or obtrusive
Recommendations
MILLIE’S, NEPTUN & MAESTRO for early evening young kids entertainment, RAFAELLO’S serves great Italian, ARIZONA for steak and really good band, TROPICANA for big money bingo £400 to £700 (I was waiting on one!!), ROPOTOMO (near Disco Orange) has a evening floorshow with an ex Bulgarian International Petkov who does his own version of keepie-uppie. Forget Khans Tent – find the BRIZ (near the Glarus) for 1 hour’s free floorshow in ambient atmosphere with singing, dancing, and fire walking.
My advice is to follow your nose, keep your eyes open throughout the day, take & read the flyers that are handed out on the street and ask other holiday makers for their recommendations.
