I would recommend hotel - once building works finished. Have to give overall rating of ZERO TO LASTMINUTE.COM

Resort very busy with bustling traffic taxi drivers a pest if you hear tooting don,t look where it is coming from as a taxi will pull up beside you and the drivers are pests. Beaches very dirty and pebbley, alot of bars and cafes and restaurants on main street but not for familys more for couples which is why im pleased I stayed at a good family hotel with good entertainment. Fissouri water park fantastic good value for money and family fun.

We didn't venture too far for entertainment as our children were young but the nights we did go for a walk after dinner, there seemed to be lots of bars and restaurants.
We did go to the beach a couple of times but the sand was so hot. My husband and brother-in-law paraglided and loved it.
We were close to the main road running through Limassol and caught the local bus to the old town which was very nice and easy to find.

The resort, The Amathus area of Limassol is very nice, on the seafront there is a purpose built walkway, which streches for about 10km and is lit up at night and is very pleasant to walk along.
There are a number of restaurants, a bank, plenty of mini markets, an excellant Creperie/ice cream parlour, that does sandwiches as well, chemist, car hire offices, in fact everything you could possibly need.
On the beach there are untold amounts of watersports, they are a bit on the expensive side, but you have got a wide choice and everything and everywhere we went was especilly clean, even the beach areas.

The resort was ok, I loved the shops! But we couldn't find the beach and when we did it wasn't very nice.

The resort of Limassol is very untidy a lot of building work going on.
Beaches are poor and some places just cobbles.

Having visited this resort in March, 2005 some of the bars/restaurants were not open, we were informed by the hotel staff that they would all be open after the 1st week in April, when the weather picked up. Although there were plently to choose from and the weather was very good while we were there.

We found Limassol to be very clean and the people very friendly.
The beaches were clean and uncrowded and the food served in the restaurants in the resort was excellent

Brilliant to visit in the winter, as it's very quiet

Limassol, even in January, is a good place to stay. A good number of bars/restaurants are open and in the summer months it must be excellent.
There is a very good bus service which will take you from one end of the resort to the other for 70c.
Limassol old town has a number of good places to visit and plenty of shops both upmarket and tourist and tacky. The promenade leading up to the old town is lovely (although they are still working on it) - very wide, palm tree lined and some unusual sculptures plus nice shady seating areas.
The Germasoia area where most of the hotels are has plenty of bars and eateries and if you can't stand the hotel breakfast the a "full English" can be had for between c£1 and c£1.50. Check out the Equinox (next to the Step Inn Irish bar) where coffee and brandy or a pint of Keo is still cy£1 and you get a bowl of biscuits too!
