Do not try the Italian. Not great and far too salty

Limassol was a shock! Very tourist orientated, masses of cafes, bars, gift shops, car hire outlets. Taxi drivers hooting, trying to get your custom. Not sandy beach territory, except if you visit Governers Beach, a soft black sand oasis of peace and quiet!
Limassol Old Town and Castle are worth a visit, as is Fassouri Waterpark. If you are looking for a quiet "greek" resort with sandy beaches, do not choose Limassol.
We would visit Cyprus again, most likely choosing Larnaca as a base to explore more of the island.

Resort is very poor. No nice scenery. No nice walks, only very busy main road, looks run down ,no better in old town.
Beaches are terrible rocks and grit black sand, expected lovely golden sands and nice scenery very disapointing.
Bars ok but better ones are expensive.
Very disappointed with resort would not return.

Hotel a liitle out from the main resort - this suited us - fairly quiet. No beach - but hotel have made a small area which is fine once you get over the shock.

Our ratings relate to the immediate area around our hotel which was some way out of the centre of Limassol.
Given that we spent most of our time around the pool in the hotel it is a bit difficult to comment on the resort. We were impressed with the local No. 30 bus that ran along the coastal road and cost only 70c one way.
Limassol itself lacks a heart and by that I mean a fixed area where all the bars and restaurants are. It is more a coastal strip development.
If you want sandy beaches look elsewhere but if you want somewhere as a base to explore the rest of the island it is ideal given the nearby motorway.

Streets were extremely busy, especially the traffic, continually harrassed by taxi drivers as your walking they sound their horn for you to get in.
Entertainment was just karaoke.
Beech was disgusting.
I would never go again.

limasol was very nice, music from the clubs can be loud and go on to the early hours though. trips to paphos and other places are quite cheap. there are less tourist oriented bars to go to but you have to look for them

Limassol is very quiet area and excellent for a relaxing holiday it is very clean and the local people are very friendly and helpful, has numerous restaurants all very reasonably priced and the food is excellent value for money. Limassol also has nice shops and tavernas and would definitely recommend a visit here.

The tourist area of Limassol could do with a lick of paint. It's falling down and the old town is not much better.
There were a lot of tacky topless bars and sex shops. There seemed to me to be way more bars and restaurants than there were people and in July that should not be so.
I just think Cyprus with its currency has priced itself out of the self catering market. We went out to eat on two nights and just thought " what are we doing here".
We ate in the Blue Island restaurant one night but after our hotel it was average.
I am not a prude but I am not taking my 5 year old son or my father down to look at topless bars and sex shops no thanks!
The beaches or excuses for beaches were bad. We drove to water park and Lady’s Mile and Kourion and hung out at our hotel which was wonderful.
I think Cyprus with its currency and economy is attracting lots more people to the five star resort hotels or complexes and less to the two star apartments and I would think the tourist areas are not going as well as they were. It’s just a theory.

Resort cleanliness was quite poor and looked run down. Great if you eat out a lot or like to visit pubs. Not a lot for kids to do.

Limassol not the best of areas, not alot to do and see, but the restaurants on the main road were all really good and service excellent with good menus and choice. Beaches really poor and not alot of watersports (if your into that, which we were, we did find jetskis for 20CYP for 25 minutes, excellent)
Shops mainly open morning to 1pm so very very hot to shop. You will not find many main stores open after 8pm,especially old town were all the bargains are supposed to be, only a few gift shops open till late and restaurants and pub/clubs open till late.
Overall Hotel fantastic and staff really friendly, wouldnt go back to Limassol, heard Protaris much better for things to do.
