Beaches

Weather was average for time of year. There is a small beach within a few minutes walk which is sheltered and clean.
The main beach is about 10 to 15 mins walk and is clean with plenty of public toilet facilites. On a sunday the tourist board has a local cypriot troupe which performs in traditional costumes doing local songs and dances.
There is a bus service into Limassol from near the hotel which costs just 80 cents and runs about every 15 mins. Limasol it's self is expanding at an alarming rate and resembles a massive building site.
There are parts of the old town which are still worth a visit including the castle which is now a museum. The small back streets have local people making lace and local crafts.
Don't visit the marina towards Larnaca as you won't be allowed access. The port in Limassol is ok you can walk round there and see all the fishing boats. We didn't see any gangs of maurauding drunken morons causing alarm and dispondency.
We found the locals to be polite, considerate and friendly and the tour guides were very knowledgeable. Overall Cyprus has a fascinating history with lots of places to visit, excursions are laid on by the hotel at a resonable cost. Car hire is reasonable and worth considering.

We stayed in Paphos, Limassol, but were travelling around to see as much as possible.
We loved Paphos and have already booked for September 2006. However Limassol we found very run down (old town) and would not stay there again unless there was major investment in the place.

Beaches in the area of this hotel are mainly of large stones.
Lots of rubbish tipped around the area along with plastic bottles and packaging
Entertainment in this area was nil except for the hotel which was very expensive for drinks

I will certainly be going back to Limassol, probably even as soon as Christmas this year (2006).
I found the place had everything that I wanted for a winter holiday.... the sun shone nearly every day and there was plenty going on of you cared to go and find it.
The beach was never overcrowded and was clean...........I'm a fan, I'll be back

Unfortunatley not impressed with Limassol will never go back it is really just Blackpool with sunshine. Beach is rubbish and Limassol is just so large certainly not a resort for a relaxing holiday. Also if you are looking for a little bit of Cypriot life dont go here...far too 'British' for my liking.Food is hit and miss and the locals that are involved in the tourism industry are the rudest i have ever met.
If we went back to Cyprus would stay in Ayia Napa or Protaros.
Finally, went on the 1 day trip to Cairo by air....was fab if you get the chance go as you see the pyramids,Sphinx, papyrus factory, cairo museum and also have a cruise on the Nile. Very tiring but well worth it although we would now not want to go back to Egypt. Great to experience it however the constant pestering you get from the locals does spoil it(what bit of 'no i dont want to buy it') do they not understand!

Resort is busy with plenty to do at evening time. Main through road can be very busy at night with lots of boy racers ! Quiet during the day. You need to get out of the resort to see the best of Cyprus.
Lots of British style pubs etc.Not a resort for beach bums.

There was some good local pubs, but pick the resturants carefully, its not somewhere I would ever visit again or recomend anyone to go to for a relaxing family holiday.
The locals drive like lunatics and the police do nothing.

Beach facilities were good and beaches cleaned each day but sand is horrible grey colour. Very few public toilets. Roads were very busy all the time and traffic noise invasive.

Not been to Limassol for 7 years and it has changed very much the bars used to be full of people chatting or singing but now big screen tv's taking over.Limassol still has a fantastic bakery and a few good shops, however next time may try Ayia Napa, but Jonny's bar (near four seasons) and Happy Jack's (near Atlantic hotel) worth a visit.
