I would recommend hotel - once building works finished. Have to give overall rating of ZERO TO LASTMINUTE.COM

Pleny of bars and restuarants.
Seemed to be quite quiet at this time of year but this wasnt a down side.
Wicked Water Park, cheap bus, even picked us up outside hotel.
Plenty of shops.
Good public transport around the island.
Beaches were well kept, plenty of water activities.
Highly recommend.

Limassol is a bustling busy city resort, if you like lots of night life and shopping this is the place for you. There are some nice bays with sandy beach most of them assisted by the hotels on the sea/beach areas. Many different nationalities visit Limassol, as well as the brits, there are Russians and French.

The resort was quite clean.
There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Most bars have some kind of entertainment on.
Beach is mainly pebbles but sea is nice and clean.
People really friendly and helpful.

we went on off season so a few places were closed or being renovated. There is a lot of building work being carried out in and around Limassol. The bus journey is about 20 mins to the town centre on a number 30 which is fairly frequent although we walked a couple of times about an hour and a half with a few beer stops on the way. Plenty of gift shops. The jewellry and watches are worth looking at. Found music stores selling copied dvd's and cd's from £2 each on the high street. Beer is about £1 a pint of the local brew keo which is ok they also brew carlsberg in cyprus. People are very friendly and helpful most speak good english. Enjoyed the visit may try Paphos next.

We were outside the main town but visited it and it had plenty of shops and bars etc considering it was winter there was still a lot of life about the place although most of the people were in their later years.

Not too much of a beach in Limassol ,the resort was nice ,but as we went in Febuary so not many shops open .
It was nice to go into a shop and buy something and know you were not going to get ripped off.

Limassol was more like a city with mad drivers, not much open and not much of a beach didnt get to see much of it as we were on the outskirts would go back again just for the hotel.

The resort of Limassol was not showing it's true face as it was still really winter and had just had a dust storm blowing in from Africa.
Resort entertainment as ussually got something for every but being winter everything is low key.
The same also goes for cleanliness of the beach, which had a lot of seagrass and other debris on it although they looked lie they were starting to get to grips with all the little tidy up jobs.
Probably not as we like paphos a bit better as it is a little more low key
