Location
We were in block 18 ground floor and I would definitely recommend a 1st floor apartment as the balconies looked lovely to sit out on where some of the ground floor apartments didn't have nice terraces.
Pool area kept very clean and there is a life guard on duty all day, pool starts very shallow and slopes down with a line that small children cannot cross and the life guard does watch to make sure they dont.
Best pool we've seen if you've got small children. All staff very helpful and restaurant staff very quick to clear your table away.
Food was very nice with plenty of choice although towards the end of our second week it was a bit samey. Chicken nuggets, fish fingers, pizza chips for the kids.
You order your lunch from a menu and again plenty of choice.
The one thing which we felt a little bit let down by was the entertainment. Alex and Tina were fantastic and the kids reps and they all tried really hard and put in alot of hours but for us the entertainment was not up to the standard of other FC complexes we've been to.
Would definitely visit again though, you won't be disappointed.

This complex won two First Choice awards in 2002/03 but has not been updated since by the look of the rooms that are in urgent need of an update.
The bed covers in one of our rooms had **** on the underside shower curtains with holes in curtains against the windows with missing hooks. 3*plus what a joke more like 1* plus. Saying that, if you like a noisy pool area and poor evening entertainment this complex is for you. If not the beach is ten minites walk in one direction and the centre about ten minites walk the other.

The 1 bed apartments were big with plenty of storage, Balconys were really spacious and facilities in the kitchen area were great too.
This is the cleanest place I have visited abroad, the highchair trays are covered in cling film to keep them clean, we saw a cat climb on one of the restaurant tables and the next thing it was all being stripped off with new table cloths and plates set.
The pool area and all toilets were immaculate. The food on the all inclusive was excellent, This is the first time we have done all inclusive but would definatey do it again. Nice to go out for a meal once during the week for a change but the variety of food was really good.
The staff at the hotel were great and paid lots of attention to my 9 month baby.
Entertainment was ok at night, lots going on around the pool during the day.

One lunch time we were sitting in the outside bit of the resturant and we had water dripping onto our food, when we told the waiter he said not to worry it was only water from the maids washing the floors above!( we sent our meals back and went pizza hut up the road).
I must add though that the lunch menu were the best meals we had at the Hotel as they were all cooked fresh. I went All Inclusive to the Electra and in the second week ended up spending

Towards the end of the 1st week and start of the second the kids pool started to look murky/dirty.
The apts full of mostly AI brits who just wanted to stay at the hotel pool and get drunk every day leaving rubbish and broken glass always around the pool area.
We spent most of our time using the simos majic facilities as the owners at simos were very friendly.
We will be going back to ayia napa 2008 but wont stay at the electra.

We went in October. We had never been all inclusive so we didn't know what to expect but we really enjoyed it and we are hopefully going back there again.
The rooms, pools are spotless and the rooms were very comfortable are you feel much like you are at home because the people working there are very friendly.
The entertainment was very good for all the kids/ teenagers inc. me and my sister. There is also good entertainment for the adults as well.
The food was very nice (we stayed all inc.) and the drinks were nice as well. They had a different theme for each night with the food (English BBQ, Italian, American etc) my favourite was the world one.
There was different things going on at night, there was karaoke, bingo, games but the best was that every night there was a mini disco and the karaoke. The entertainment was run by first stop and the entertainers got on very well with all the kids.
It was my best holiday and my family's too.

The hotel itself is a bit dated as some people have previously mentioned but we didn't have any problems with cleanliness or condition in the rooms. The one bedroom apartments are basic but clean and the beds in the living room are sofa beds and only really ideal for children not adults.
The food in the hotel is really nice and well cooked although it could benefit from more choice especially where the kids section was concerned. The dining room was a good size and the outside seating in the bar which we tended to use was clean and always tidy.
The bar itself was always well stocked and the bar staff were very pleasant and always had time for a quick chat. Jaro and Jimmy keep up the good work.
The entertainment team Shona and Alex have been pulled down and criticised quite a lot on most review sites but in their defence they work very hard with the naff equipment which doesn't work at the best of times but they make the best of it. We thought they did a sterling job so well done guys we miss you already!
The pool area is in need of some repair and is in need of some steps at the deep end of the pool as it kills your arms and legs trying to get out at that end. Also one or two people slipped on a wooden section right on the edge of the pool which had apparently at one time being covered with a green felt like covering but not longer had one.
The supermarket on site is well stocked and I found to be very reasonable in price and no different to the shops on the main street.
Swim Kids rep Vicky did a marvellous job so well done Vicky. As did Electric El and Loopy Loo the kids reps who worked very hard at keeping the kids entertained in the kids club.
I would not hesitate to recommend the Electra to anyone wanting to holiday in Cyprus and I would certainly consider re booking to visit again.

The rooms were very big, and had plenty of space for just the two of us, which was nice. However, the beds are a bit uncomfy (they have orthopaedic mattresses) and hard, but you get used to it. Also there is a bit of an ant problem, so I would advise against leaving any form of food out, and they seemed to like toothpaste too! Overall though, the rooms are big and are kept clean enough.
We didn't stay all inclusive, but the food looked uninspiring at the least. I would say save your money and go to the nice restaurants in Ayia Napa (Hokkaido, Mai Thai, Clarabell and Fiji were our favs).
The location of the hotel was good for us, because we didn't want to be in the middle of the action of Ayia Napa. Sandy Bay is the best beach, about a 5 min walk (max) to the right of the hotel along the coastal path. Nissi Beach was about a 20min walk along the main road, but in 30 degree heat we only did this once and it wasn't that much better than Sandy to make us do it again!
The hotel staff on reception were friendly and you couldn't really fault them. The entertainment looked a bit samey but to be fair, we didn't ever stay to watch it as hanging around the hotel in the evening isn't our thing.
I don't think I would visit this hotel again because I found Cyprus a bit pricey to eat out and buy things from the supermarket. Things tended to be about the same price as the UK, and if you compare Cyprus to places like the Balearic Islands etc, I wouldn't say it is a nicer place to be and it is far more expensive. I also think you would benefit from a hire car, because the bus service goes about as far as the Waterpark but if you want to explore other parts of the island or go into the Turkish half, you'd be hard pushed to find a bus.

On our first full day at this accommodation, we were quite unimpressed.
Firstly, the sunbeds were a nightmare. There were people moving beds around and reserving them from around 7am. Hotel policy states that sunbeds are not to be reserved until after 9.15am, however, even after complaining to the rep about this, we did not see this rule enforced at all. It got to the point where some people were just laying towels on beds the night before. It did get really quite ridiculous at times.
The entertainment was simply shocking for the first few days, however, this did improve somewhat once better reps where placed in this resort. We thought that the main thing this hotel lacked with regards to the entertainment was basically consistency. Had there been a little more thought and structure, things could have been improved 100%.
This was the first time we have taken our family all inclusive and we must that say we would not do it again. For some families, it would be great value but it wasn't for us. The food in the restaurant became very repetitive after the first week and did look quite unappealing at times. We chose not to eat there at all, so because we ate out every evening, the all inclusive option did not prove to be value for money for us. However, the bar snack menu was quite extensive and was served pretty much all day. This food was of a much higher standard than that of the breakfast and evening.
Our room was quite spacious and very regularly cleaned, we think 5 times a week this was done. Each apartment has a small balcony with a table and a couple of chairs, which was quite a nice touch.
The most perfect thing about this accommodation was simply its location. There was a beautiful beach right behind the hotel, which had a direct access pathway leading from the hotel to the beach itself. There was a small local charge for the use of sunbeds and umbrellas, however because of this, it kept the beach nice and quite and you had the pick of the beds!!! There is also a lovely see breeze on the beach, so is a lot cooler than cramming around the pool.
There is a short walk of about 10 mins to get along to the centre of Ayia Napa itself. There are loads of bars and restaurants en-route, some of which are fantastic and great value for money.
There are loads of water sports activities to do right along the coast of Cyprus, so there was always loads going on. We would highly recommend the para gliding - it was superb!!!
We would probably not go back to the Electra as it did not tick all the right boxes for our family. However, that is a personal opinion and not for everyone.
