This was mine and my friends first visit to Cyprus and we will definitely be going again.
The room was very spacious and very clean. It seemed as though the maid was in most days!
The staff were very riendly and very helpful.
The hotel was in an ideal location. Not too far away from the square with its bars and very close to a small beach.
The food was very nice.
Entertainment for the day centred around things like football, bingo etc. The evening entertainment was very good for children and families.

The rooms were very clean apart from the ants that took the notion to come visit on occasion.
The staff were first class and looked after us well especially Jimmy.
Entertainment was great for the kids and kept us adults going as well, all in all its was a fantastic place to go for a family holiday and we will be back as soon as possible

The rooms were cleaned regularly. The airconditioning is a must but would probably forgo television again unless you enjoy watching Euronews or Bonanza over and over again. But who goes on holiday to watch TV anyway?
As I said the staff were very friendly and the entertainment by Sacha and Emma was very good. They are a jolly pair of girls who seemed genuinely friendly and worked very hard.

We had a great time and found the Electra to be extremely clean with regular maid service. We went self catering but ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant on several occasions - this was excellent. There was a good choice and was all very tasty, however had we gone all inclusive I think we would have easily got tired of the food as it did look rather competitive.
There is lots of entertainment taking place throughout the day and evening, Emma and Sasha, the entertainment reps, did the best they could- running water polo, football, darts etc throughout the day and regular games of bingo, competitions. Karaoke on the evening. It's good for some light entertainment and they focus on the kids so great for them. If you are expecting top class entertainment then this is probably not the right place for you.
The resort of Ayia Napa is about a 25 minute walk away unless you take the other route which knocks 5 minutes or so off. Once you reach the square (the main part) there is a large choice of restaurants and more than enough bars and nightclubs. Although a young couple we were not interested in the clubbing side of things and so found it a little annoying when we walked back past the clubs later in the evening and got majorly terrorised by the club PA's to go inside. But you find this in most places abroad, there is a route you can take to avoid walking past these though.
Whilst on our holiday we visited the water park "Water World" which is fantastic. There are lots of great rides and plenty of places for lunch/refreshments. This, like the hotel, was very clean and made for a great day out. I recommend visiting this to wards the end of the holiday though once you have a bit of a tan, otherwise your likely to burn.
We also went on the "Lazy day Cruise" on the last day of our holiday which was a lovely boat trip up round the south-east coast of Cyprus. It provided a gorgeous lunch and a couple of swim stops in the clear blue sea. It also takes you as far up to the border line as they are allowed so that you can see the ghost town Famaghusta. This was very interesting- make sure you take your binoculars for this though as they cannot go too close due to the UN border line.
The only problem we had on holiday was a slight lack of incompetence in the Electra hotel. The maids had been mopping the staircase and as we made our way downstairs we realised that no ''wet floor'' sign had been placed and I fell down an entire set of steps. I badly bruised my arms and particularly my elbow which I'm still having pain with 8 weeks after the holiday. My boyfriend complained to the reception desk but they appeared uninterested although a wet floor sign was placed after this happened.
Our other complaint was the bar prices. Every time we bought a drink it was a different price. One day we purchased two large diet cokes and were charged what would be around

We found the staff to be friendly and the waiters are all very helpful and accomodating, they work very hard.... in searing heat..don't know how they manage it.
We stayed all inclusive, breakfasts are buffet style, with cereals, toast, croisants, fry up etc. Lunch is from a menu, but there is a good choice, and the evening meal is again buffet. It does get repetitive into the second week, but to be fair even if you eat out, we all tend to be guilty of eating the same stuff night in night out and revisiting the same places, so really this is no different. We found the food to be excellent, the only thing lacking was the choice for very small children, that could perhaps be more imaginative.
The entertainment here is much like all the other "family" First Choice resorts, very much geared to fairly small children. Teenagers will be bored rigid with the majority of the rep shows, bingo, club singers etc. But if you join in with the laughs and don't take it seriously, its fine, and of course happy kids make for happy adults ! Sacha and Emma work their socks off trying to keep everyone entertained and involved, which must be difficult at times, so hats off to them.

Towels and bed linen very tatty and needed replacing floor was filthy and had to clean myself with paper towels.
To get a sun bed round the pool you had to get up the crack of dawn(who wants to do that on holiday)or be like the majority of guests and put your towels. Down at night the hotel staff should have stopped this as they advertise no beds to be reserved before 9.30 am.aircon was 10.00 deposit which was not advertised in brochere and t.v was a joke unless you were multi lingual I would not return to the Electra.

The Electra is in a superb location right on the beach front with all watersport activities readily available and just a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of aiya napa.
The rooms are clean and the maids seem to come every day.
There is a wide choice of food on offer at breakfast, lunch and dinner and is of a good standard.
The only let down at the Electra is the entertainment which for a four star hotel is only of a 2 star quality though Sasha and Emma do their best to keep everyone of all ages amused throuought the days.
Ellen, the First Choice rep was always available at the times stated and is very helpful and friendly if you need advice or want to book excursions. Also the kids club was a big hit with children again this year. All the staff are very friendly and polite especially Jimmy the head waiter who is very funny.
We will certainly return to the Electra again in the future.

The food was fairly Englishified - only two nights in the fortnight we stayed had Greek food. However - it was really good for the children - they ate from the proper food selection every night and didn't have to resort to the chicken nuggets!Chips were available - but so were proper potatoes and vegetables.
Maid service was 5 times weekly - with bins only being emptied on the other days. Our room was kept nice and clean.
Hotel staff were friendly - with a gppd knowledge of English.
We try to avoid organised entertainments where possible! The entertainment team seemed to work well with those who wanted it.
We never went to the evening entertainment - preferring to do our own thing.
