Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

Plenty to do and loads of great places to eat. Konnos Bay is worth a visit for a gorgeous quiet beach.

The resort as is usually found was very clean, the entertainment again cannot be marked as it was out of season and only 2 bars were open. There was a lot of work being carried out on the beach but it was still nice and clean. I would definately visit Protaras again.

It was low season so there wasn't much going on. The night we arrived (late March) it was like a ghost town but lots of places were opening up by the time we left.
Pubs with Karaoke and loud music seem to be the main entertainment and there are quite a lot of nice restaurants. Eden Square has good quality restaurants with live entertainment. We had a very nice meal in the Greek restaurant there.
Locals are very friendly and there's a good, cheap local bus service.

Hard to judge resort, as season only just starting. Looks like it will have plenty of bars and restaurants in the main season.

Protaras in the winter is closed.
Not the place to be if you are looking for entertainment or somewhere to eat outside of the hotel. Only the Greenery bar within walking distance from our hotel where you could get food and an English beer if you wanted.
Ayia Napa and Paralimni are only a 70c bus ride or short taxi trip away if you want a bit more excitement. A car is essential if you want to explore as no trips were available. Protaras has good beaches and nice seafront walks around the bay and nearby Cava Greko is stunning and remote, but again a car is necessary to visit.
Unless you want peace and quiet and a break from the English winter, suggest you go from Easter when the resort wakes up.

Pernera is great if you want a great chill out holiday.
Enough bars and restaurants to keep you going for 2 weeks. We liked the Spectrum bar (Piggys) for a pint of magners, Fools and horses for a great £2 fry up in the morning and the Anatoula on the road to protaras for a great evening meal.
If you fancy a terrific Cypriot night, try Romeos in Protaras...down the far end near the big chinese restaurant. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays they put on a great show whilst you are having a meal and get everyone up Zorba dancing at the end...great fun.

Konnos Bay is only 15 minutes by local bus or a C£4 taxi ride from Protaras. Protaras is the usual "strip" of bars, restaurants and shops and offers a complete change from the quiet and seclusion of Konnos Bay itself. If you want a mix of both peace and buzzing resort life it's ideal. Didn't go to Ayia Napa seemed to "lively" for our tastes.

Excellent resort with plenty to do. Beach was lovely but a little crowded so you would have to get there about 730am just to get a sunbed!
Plenty of good bars and restaurants that are good value for money.
Resort clean with a good standard of accommodation etc.
It is well placed on the island to see a lot of things and I would definitely go back!
