When we arrived at Coral Sea it looked nice and was very clean, the check in was quick and our bags were taken to our room(a tip expected).

The room was big and of good standard as it was after 10pm when we arrived we ordered Pizza's from the room service menu,

After a very long day, I was surprised how quickly we were installed into our room. On arrival we received a welcome drink and we checked in. You get given room number stickers to put on your cases but that is it as far as it goes for your luggage. It is delivered to your room and collected from your room on departure. There are no lifts in this hotel which makes it slightly awkward for push/wheel chairs.

The hotel was spotless. It is a new hotel and it is obvious that they want to keep it as close to it's original condition. The gardens were pristine and in excellent condition. There are gardeners everywhere working around the clock weeding, mowing, tending to the flower beds and watering the green lawns (at midnight). The gardens are amazing bearing in mind that it is desert conditions.

I have to give Shareef (our room attendant) a special mention. For someone that is paid a pittance (

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Coral Sea resort. No qualms with the accommodation at all - easy/quick check in, rooms large, air con and clean, whole resort spotless - didn't see a single roach in the whole of Egypt!

The food however, was awful - we met plenty of people who liked it (what do they eat at home?) and most people we encountered were suffering various degrees of tummy upset. Some whould say through heat and/or not drinking enough, we would say it was the food.

Maybe we have been spolt in previous all-inclusive but in my opinion this accommodation is semi-inclusive. So, breakfast finishes at 10am? My husband and I have to get up for 50 weeks of the year so for the 2 weeks we are on holiday don't want to have to get up and rush to breakfast - no big deal really, didn't bother after the first day.

No bottled water available AT ALL until 12 mid-day. There were water coolers so you were ok if you had an empty bottle! and to be fair, cups available too but when you are in the middle of the Sinai desert you might want to take a drink with you?

The pool side restaurant was always full of sparrows -hopping on the counters and helping theirselves - this was also a fresh fish restaurant in the evenings (you pay for your fish) but you had to be quick - only open between 2000-2200.

Kids ice-cream available 1100-1500 - hey I'm not a parent but am quite sure that kiddies don't understand the difference of a mere 10-15 minutes.

You can go to the on-site Italian once a week - if you can get booked in - we heard good reports from the food in there (unfortunately we couldnt get boked in) but some couples were charged

Hotel was clean and tidy including the gardens.rooms were cleaned each day and fresh towels were always supplied, safety deposit boxes in rooms are free and very easy to use.

The only complaint on the rooms was that our older daughters room had a mould growth on the door frame of the bathroom,we reported this immediatly to the First Choice rep but nothing was ever done.

Hotel food was of a good standard,I am a very fussy eater but I can honestly say I found something every day to eat and was never hungry. There was always plenty of fruit and salad available,I did like the fresh pizzas that were made while you waited.

Hotels location was what I expected. A good beachfront site the beach area was fantastic you could walk for ages in the water with the right footwear of course ,we as a family like to take a walk somedays but there was not much about at the front of the hotel apart from a shopping centre a short walk from the hotel along the main road.

In contrast to this the beachfront side was a nice walk along the beach path. The jetty is not yet finished and is a bit bouncy but is lovely to walk out into the sea.

Hotel staff were always polite and the most hardworking I have ever seen, great with the kids

Again the entertainment was what I expected, kids mini disco, bingo and a First Choice entertainers show or local act, anyone with kids know that you have to put up with and enjoy the mini disco because the kids love it. The other shows were ok and not as bad as some I have seen before and I would go as far to say I had a good few laughs. I saw the spinning man dance three times, normally I would moan that I had seen it but this dance I could watch over and over. I thought it was amazing 14 minutes of pure energy and in that heat brilliant!

The only faults in my opinion was that there are not enough toilets around the pool areas its a long way back to reception unless your room is closer. Mine was at the reception end so we did not have a choice. It does make you wonder how many people didnt bother getting out off the water, who would know?

There are no lifts which is a nightmare for parents with buggies and toddlers.

Another little moan is the drinks at times were served far too warm mainly from the makeshift bar at the ampitheatre. A little unfair to make a big moan about it as how can you keep a drink cool in this heat. If I wanted a cold drink I would go to the lobby bar it was always ok there, this can only get better if the hotel intends building a proper bar with pumps. When you are sitting outside in that sort of heat a cold drink is a must.

Even after these moans I would return to this hotel as none of the above put me off at all as we enjoyed the stay, the people and the weather.

Just back from the Coral Sea Resort. Had a wonderful time. The hotel is an absolute dream. Very large and kept in immaculate condition.

The Egyptian staff could not have been better. Worked so hard and were very polite and friendly.

Entertainment a bit holiday campish but who cares as I didn't come down here for that.

Red Sea a delight to snorkel in as so many exotic fish to see. They even eat out of your hands if you take some bread and rolls along. Best time to do this is when the tide is out as firstly you can go out further and secondly you can see the coral reefs where the fish congregate because they partly stick out of the water in these conditions.

A couple of people have complained about the lack of toilets around the swimming pool area and have stated that they have to go back to their room or the reception area in order to relieve themselves. NOT TRUE! If only they looked they would have found that round the back of the Mermaid Bar there are both ladies and gents loos. A mere 1 minutes walk from the main swimming pool!

Only real gripe about the hotel was the weather. It was really just TOO HOT! Temperatures that are in excess of 40 degrees centigrade are just too much for me. In future I will only be coming down to this region during the winter months when it is only 25 to 35 degrees centigrade. I can't imagine how hot it must get down here in July and August. It must be absolutely unbearable.

Would I come back to this hotel again? YOU BET!!

We stayed in the Coral Sea resort from the 18th May - 1st June '06.

You arrive with a complimentary drink waiting for you, then after you have checked in, you go to your room where your cases are waiting for you. We arrived about 11pm.
Hotel Cleanliness.

Every part of this huge hotel was immaculate. There seems to be an army of cleaners, inside the rooms and out, who work every hour god sends to keep this hotel clean. I spoke to one cleaner near reception, and he said he works 19hrs a day ! ( I will never moan about a 12 hr shift ever again ! ) Even through the night, you have gardeners tending to all the hedges and gardens, plus the pool cleaners spend all night, every night, cleaning the pool for the next day.

A big thank you to Tarek ( our cleaner ) he kept our room spotless. He seemed to spend more time in our room than we did !

Food.
With me being one of the most fussiest eaters, I thought I might starve here, definately not the case. From when breakfast is served at 6.30am ish, you can eat virtually anytime up until about 10.30pm. The choice is quite extensive and it changes every day for dinner. We were not afraid to try new things, and everything we ate we enjoyed. I'd never had sea bass before, lovely.

Hotel Location.
If you love the beach, this hotel is perfect. Where our room was, it was about a 200 yard walk before you dipped your toes in the red sea. If you want to go out and about, it's about a 20min bus or cab ride to civilization.

We went to Naama bay, the bus picked us up from reception and it was only

Arrived late at night to a refreshing drink and a spotlessly clean hotel. We were told to label our cases with our room number and they would be delivered to the room while we went to the dine around resturant for some welcome food. Our wristbands were also given to us.

ROOM.
the room was large with a huge wardrobe with shelves and hanging space. also a safe in the wardrobe. some hangers are provided.we had a ground floor room with a terrace which had a table and 2 chairs. the bathroom was a very good size with a bath and shower over the bath. towels are changed everyday in the evening.

HOTEL CLEANLINESS.
The hotel was spotless because they never stop cleaning! I lost count at the number of times I saw someone cleaning the windows around the reception area. people were still cleaning at 10.30 at night all around the hotel, even the gardeners were tidying the garden late at night. during the day you see men checking the pool to make sure its clean and topping up the levels if needed.

HOTEL FOOD.
Food was varied every day and plentiful. even my 11 year old, who is the fussiest eater I know, did not say "there's nothing I like". Food was hot and there is a bar in the dine around so you can get drinks. also juice and water dispensers are in there. The bar here is where you get your water bottles from to store in your fridge.

HOTEL LOCATION.
From previous reviews I got the impression that the hotel was in the middle of nowhere with nothing else around. this is not really the case as there is hotels everwhere and and quite a few shops down the road. The hotel runs a bus or taxis into naama bay which is quite a short ride, about 20mins max.

HOTEL STAFF.
All the hotel staff were fantastic, I don't think I ever saw one without a smile. They work extremely hard and very long hours but always have time for you. Thanks to Mohamed (waiter) who was great with the kids and us adults too.
I would also like to thank Mohamed Shaarawi(shaarawim) for his kindness while we were there, he is a very busy man but had time to speak to us and make sure we were happy with everything.

ENTERTAINMENT.
On the whole the entertainment was very good. The First Choice team work hard with long hours but put on some great shows for us, grease, school of rock and doctor funkinstein. there were outside shows which came in too, the spinning man and some russian dancers. The only downfall was that the spinning man and russian dancers were on 3 times while i was there, although they were very good once would have been enough so they should try and do the shows on a 2 week rota so you don't see it again.

The beach is right on the resort with a jetty to walk along and see the fish. even at the end of the jetty the water only comes to your chest. Swim shoes are a must though as its full of coral.

The whole holiday was fantastic from start to finish and we are definately going back next May and taking friends with us as we know they would love it too. We have travelled all over the world and always say that we would never go back to the same place within 5 years but the Cora Sea has changed our minds, thats how good it is!

Arrived around 10pm at night in temperatures of 35 degrees to be welcomed by a refreshing cool drink. First impressions of the hotel were wow. Impressive reception area with very friendly staff making your check-in process completely hassle free. We were given labels with our room numbers on to attach to our luggage and this was then bought to our room by the staff. Luggage in room after approx 20 mins be expected to pay a tip for this but well worth it as carrying heavy cases in that heat would not be nice.

The room was of a very good size with a television and mini-bar (although you have to pay for the contacts which are quite expensive. Large double wardrobe with plenty of hanging space complete with hangers and lots of shelving too. Beds were very large and extremely comfortable. Bathroom of a good size and standard and towels changed daily. View from balcony was stunning we faced both the pool and the beach perfect!! (room 1219)

Pool area impressive - 2 pools one a little more quite and then another huge pool with a walk in beach like end (ideal for younger children) pool was fairly cold but very welcoming in temperatures topping 40+ degrees every day. Sun loungers are plentiful and very comfortable with towels provided. The pool attendants really do make your holiday they simply adore the children and nothing is too much trouble for them they do a first class job.

Beach - I was a little disappointed with the beach the sand was more like building sand and the beach was deserted which made it lack any character. You cannot enter the sea properly due to the coral so beach shoes are a must. I am sure for all you snorkellers though this beach would be ideal. But for true beach lovers (I have been to the Caribbean) and believe me there is no comparison so I remained by the pool area.

Food - well not too bad but I think this is the main area that lets the hotel down. Food was plentiful but very samey. Good for children as there is a separate kid

Just returned from the Coral Sea Resort after a holiday of a life time.

I can't rate this hotel highly enough. I usually go away on holiday two to three times a year and I have travelled all over the world but I have never been to a better hotel than this.

The hotel is kept immaculate both inside and out. No mean feat given the sheer size of it. The hotel staff are very friendly and will do anything to help you.

The food in the buffet restaurant is of a very high quality with different theme nights every evening in addition to the Egyptian fare. There are, however, chips, pizzas and pasta for the unadventurous.

The only real problem with the hotel was some of the other guests. I couldn't believe the stupidity of some of them. Complaining about how sick they became after arriving at the hotel and blaming it on the hotel food and water.

Of course, the real reason for their malady was the fact that they were becoming dehydrated in the intense desert heat. If you are planning to come down here during the summer months remember that this isn't the Canaries, Greece or Turkey. It is much, much hotter and in order to cope you will need to drink copious amounts of water and avoid alcohol except for in the evenings. They don't start dishing out water till midday so my advice is to ask for a couple of bottles each from the buffet restaurant bar when you leave it after your evening meal.

I certainly plan to come back to this hotel in the future but next time I will travel down here during the winter period when the heat is not so intense.
