Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Deluxe & Superior rooms in the main hotel.
Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.

Even number rooms face the sun, odd number rooms are on the dark side and never see the sun.

Naama Bay is fantastic. Although they do get on your nerves after a couple of days of trying to lure you into their shops!! But please haggle, expect to pay 2/3 of what they are asking.
There aren't any bars as such in Naama Bay, they are all restaurants and Shisha cafe's (which you must try!)
Old Sharm is alot more intimidating and they can get quite aggressive, especially with the women (one of them bit me on the shoulder because I was haggling too hard!!) Word of warning!!!!! If you think that Naama is bad then do not, I mean do not enter Old Sharm Market!!!!! They are everywhere pulling and tugging at you to come into their shop and have a look.
Sharm el Sheikh is a wonderful beautiful place and will definately be returning.

Location of resort was fine for us. If you are looking for something more lively you would obviously go to Naama Bay. We arranged our own trips (not via reps) and didn't have to travel more than 40 mins for any of them, i.e. quads, beduin dinner/stars etc.

The resort is ok and better than we expected. Sharm El Sheikh is safer than we first thought and in Naama Bay there are resturants to suit all and there are English well known resturants also for those who are a bit fussy!

The hotel made the holiday for us as the resort is still in the process of being developed. It is a purpose built holiday resort with very little else around.
It has only been going for nine years - perhaps we will give it a few years to develop a little more before we return. Building work in the resort had no effect on us whatsoever at the Hotel LTI Grand Azure.

The closest resort to the Laguna Vista Hotel is Na'am Bay. It has lots of little shops which stay open until the early hours selling bits and pieces. The place could do with a clean up. It's very busy at hight and all the bars are packed. Entertainment is good with the HardRock Cafe etc. The beaches during the day are packed with hotel residents and most of them belong to particular hotels. There's lot to do and I will most definately visit again.

The resort itself is very clean and is safe to walk around at night when all the shops are open.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants but we did not see much entertainment.
The beach was clean, mainly divided into private sections which you could walk through but not sunbathe.
Dollars euro's and sterling are accepted and resort banks are open late evening if you need Egyptian pounds.
The sea is very warm, the water is clear and full of fish right up to the shoreline.
We would visit this resort again.

Great Egyptian hospitality with only a couple of small incidents. The typical 'come look in my shop with no hassle, have some tea' etc 'I make you good price' and so on, did end up with a few heated words. Whilst he did his best to be my long lost friend the false laughter and empty promises turned a bit foul when I pointed out he was treating me like a fool for trying to charge my son 26 English pounds for a very common 3 inch high statue of a cat in white soap stone, I will not be ripped off no matter how friendly they try to be, and he turned really quite nasty.
With this I learned, if they speak good English it is because they like the English. This guy did not speak good English. Get to know the shop keeper on a prior visit worked best after chatting on 2 or 3 visits if you feel comfortable with them then buy from them.
The Egyptians are truly genuine people if they like you it will show as will if they don’t..
On another occasion was about to buy daughter a dancers shawl, The usual "let me ask my manager" came about and the answer although in Arabic was clear the manager did not like the English, ie "English La" was enough for me to hand back the item and buy from a different vendor at an even better price, Remember there is good and bad everywhere just keep your wits..
Despite this we had many conversations with many locals from Cairo, Luxor and Alexandria and on the whole they are very friendly warm and welcoming and a visit is highly recommended. Sharm is more expensive than Luxor and a lot more expensive than Cairo

Stayed in Sharm-el-Sheik (Naama bay) a week, end of October/beginning of November. Can make following comments:
* In general a nice place, suitable for couples, party-goers, as well as for families.
* Naama bay has everything, even a Mc Donald's (in case you are in a masochistic mode and want to eat there...). Good entertainment and an amplitude of restaurants of all kinds and price ranges.
* In general prices are much lower that in Europe (alcohol and wine excluded. Local Beer (good)is cheap). Always bargain when you want to buy something (unless in a restaurant of course), at least 30-40%. The Egyptians are shrewd business men and will rip you off if you are naiv. Then again, normally even their first bid is in general less than it would have been in Europe. For you to decide. But bargaining can be fun.
* As like in most resorts there are a lot of street monglers and shopkeepers trying everything to get your attention. If you are not interested, just keep on going with a firm smile and a "have a nice evening, bye" and then do not pay any more attention. They will respect that.
* In the village Sharm-el-Sheik itself, prices are in general 20% less than in Naama Bay. To go there you can take a taxi (officially 20 EGP one way. You can get it for 15 or 10 if you insist. But settle that beforehand). Personally I prefer going with the locals, so I would recommend getting a mini-van taxi (also blue/white) filled with locals. Just hail it on the street. A less comfortable, but nicer way to travel and to get the feeling. Price is 1 EGP one way (probably less, but let's not be too cheap). Just pass a bill over to the driver.
* Do not forget to pick-up a few basic arabic words. It is appricated and shows that you make an effort.
* Around 85% of the tourists seem to be Russian. They are, it seems, not very popular with the locals, but they have the money. The are considered as rude and the girls as, sorry for the expression, being very "loose", which unfortunately seemed to be correct at least there. You will see a lot of middle-aged russians with young girls that are NOT their daughters :). A lot of Italians as well by the way. Nice but noisy, as always...
* If you plan to go an excursion I would suggest using one of the local companies (you will find them along the beach boulevard). The trips are the same as the one your travel agency suggests, but MUCH less expensive (around 20-30 USD p.p). Bargain here as well and you will get the price done with 5 to 10 dollars, or more. Went snorkling twice. Very nice.

Stayed at Naama bay. Resort clean, plenty to do at beach. Diving, snorkling, wind surfing, para-gliding, go-carts and the usual organised boat trips. Diving or snorkling is a must, fantastic
