Enjoyed local town but two nights in this area was enough. Beach was clean but water pumps required as rocky. Originally meant to be in the Star Beach resort area which we visited by taxi most days, so got to know taxi drivers quite well 6 Euros each way sometimes 7. Star Beach fabulous although free entry does not mean facilities free. Great fun on water slides and endless seating and eating. Beach sandy, water lovely.

The resort is beautiful, the shopping is excellent there are all manner of shops to lose yourself in .From the sun and sea apartments the harbour is about half an hours walk. In the evening it is a picture. Plenty of bars to have a drink in and plenty of tavernas to eat in if you are hungry.
The beaches are great clean and good sand, there are pools for the children and play grounds they will not be bored as I said before we are going again we have been to other resorts but they do not come close to this place we have six children between us and they are still not bored of this excellent resort ages of our children are eighteen to five.
I recommend this resort highly.

Hersonissos is a lovely resort, although better beaches can be found in nearby Stalis. Plenty of nice restaurants with excellent food and plenty of rocking bars (including 4 or 5 Irish bars). The one must thing to do is visit Old Hersinossos village, this is what Crete is all about. Good quality tavernas situated around the village square, and very friendly Greek people.

The resort is classed as Hersonnisis however this hotel is situated between this and Stalis. There are 2 very small beaches situated within a walking distance the rest of the coast line is rocks and not suitable for swimming in.
Crete as all the greek islands i have visited is not very clean, the pathways are not very well kept and sometimes are only sand and rocks. On both sides of the main road there are secondry roads which are used by pedestrians , cars, motor cycles and quad bikes, youths scream past at stupid speeds and from what i can see alot were under age to do this, Hersonisis has a multitude of bars and shops however most of the shops are 'cheap' and 'tacky'
Stalis is also worth a walk to this also has loads of bars and shops and restaurants.
Alot of the shops appeared very dirty / dusty and what was being sold looked like it had been displayed for months, I didnt know if it was the fact it was the end of the season or just that the owners were not very clean.
If its a quiet holiday that you reqire then this is the place, the nearby beaches are small and the one nearer to stalis is mainly used by a large A/I holiday village (mainly germans)
The other the opposite way has several hotels around it and its extremely small and i would imagine in the summer standing room only.

The beach was at the bottom of the hotel drive and the views were fantastic. The beach is a pebble one so be careful. You could hire a sunbed for 2 euros each for the day.
There was a train that took you on a circular tour round the little towns for 9 euros and 4 euros for the kids. The nearest resort was a 20 min walk and had watersports and shops also a few pubs.
It looks like the areas around Europa Beach hotel is being developed so maybe if we go back in a couple of yrs it will have more to do there.
All in all it was a good hotel and I would go back there maybe in a couple of yrs time.

This resort has every thing you could want for all age groups. From small to massive hotels. From seedy to plush.
There are quiet beaches and busy ones. The resturants are numerous and well priced. Bars and clubs all along the sea front cater for all age groups.
Car hire is well priced if you hunt around a bit. We loved it.

Anasaras is a small resort with a few supermarkets and bars/restaurants and beach front hotels - the beach in front of these are private. The beaches are very slim and covered in sun beds so not much space for yourself or to play in the sand, the sand is small stoney sand so not suitable for sandcastles etc.

All in all a nice resort with plenty of shops and bars,I feel more accommodating for the Germans though as nearly all the bars had German football matches on,and only two bars i found was showing English TV.
The place itself is generally quite clean.

This resort is in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do, so unless you want a really quite 60years plus holiday dont go there.
