The resort itself is very nice lots of bars and resturants! Some do a good english brekkie!!! The beach was nice and clean also a good range of watersports if the sea's calm enough!

The nearest resort to our Hotel was Hesonnisos about 2 kilometers away.
This is a bustling resort with plenty of restaurants overlooking the sea.Plenty of bars ( lost count of the Irish bars!) and entertainment but can be a bit tacky in parts.
There is a fine harbour and wide bay with a good beach.

We went later in the season when things were beginning to close down. Everything from bungee jumping, water slides, jet bikes, night clubs, tavernas, all day English breakfash and pleanty of shopping.
Pretty crowded in the resort even at the end of the season.
Several beaches charging different rates for sun beds - fairly crowded.

The resort of Stalis was the closest resort to the Hotel, a nice reasonable quiet and typically Greek venue, which seemed to cater for couples rather than singletons. However, we didnt appear to find a club in the Stalis area, just lots of bars. Malia however is the place to go if you fancy a good boogie and a night out to remember. Hersonnissos is also a lively resort with numerous bar and tavernas, including 4 seperate irish bars in the space of 200 yards. How many irish folk visit Hersonnissos?
One evening as we were strolling into the resort, we noticed that part of the rocky coast line was littered with what appeared to be floating faeces! Without any health and safety notices to be seen. This was an area that people tended not to bathe due its rocky nature, however the day before we washed our sandy feet in this same location! Lovely eh?
There is a Happy train that travels through the Hersonnisson/Stallis/Malia area, a great idea, but you can only partake in the hour long trip, you cant get back on once you have gotten off without paying another 6 euros.
Stallis was our favourite location, two bars in question stood out for us, The Irish house on the main road, this provides excellent entertainment, including an outstanding singer on tuesdays and thursdays. The Edem beach bar, very friendly bar whose staff go all out to help your stay be a nice one. We would only visit this resort again if we got an oustanding deal, however we have been twice now and should venture elsewhere.

The beach, Star beach, is, to be polite, awful.
Extremely small and over crowded, reached by a busy 'dual carriage way' type roads.
We used a very clean, air conditioned, local bus to visit Mallia beach. The reps told us they were cramped and smelly!(You need the 'Mallia beach' bus, leaves around 9:30 in the morning, at the roundabout, at the bottom of the hotel, near the security guards hut.) Cost 2Euros for two adults!) A lovely beach with a life guard and a chiropractor/masseur available.
We wish there had been more evening entertainment for adults, not just the childen. A bit miffed that the German animation team were next to the childrens swimming pool, as our children kept being directed/sent away to the 'international animation' groups swimming pool, up near the olympic size swimming pool! Not allowed to use the german animation club!
Team members all spoke a good mix of languages and had a variety of activities throughout the day and early evening.

We spent a lot of time at Star Beach water park which had free entry and was marvellous. You only pay for use of the large water slides if you want to and there are 3 beaches to choose from which also offered the usual banana boats, ringos, parasailing etc, 4 childrens pools with slides (free) and much much more! You do have to pay for beds and parasols at 3euros each. There is also an excellent internet café and plenty of places to choose from to eat. I’m not really sure why other tourists bother to go to the great expense to visit the more expensive water parks (25Euro + per person) as judging by the brochures there was no difference to what was on offer.
The main resort catered for the 18-30 crowd and became very busy on an evening with lots of cars/mopeds whizzing around which could be a bit hair raising when trying to manouvre a small child in a buggy! We did not see any trouble or drunken/loutish behaviour but I feel certain that this could be different in the early hours!

Nice small resort, entertainment ok. Holiday makers did most of it by being made fools of by annimation team.
No beach to talk about. I would go back just for the views from the restaraunt.
