The beach was good the fact that it is so close helped, it is pebbles and not sand but is still ok the sea floor has dips in it so had to keep a keen eye on the kids but they loved it and it became choppy around 5pm but not too much still could go in. All along the harbour was shops and bars and you could walk along the harbour right down to the port we walked it a few times and then into town it was a good walk about 3 hours to do.

Quiet, not a great deal to do, strictly a family holiday to be enjoyed in the hotel.

I had been told about the fantastic Crete hospitality but the locals seemed to resent the fact we were there.

Iepetra has nothing. No pubs, no clubs nothing. You cannot relieve the boredom of the hotel by going to the resort, there is no resort.

The resort had lots of thing to do from swimming lessons for all ages to table tennis, volley ball, darts etc.

The Kids club was excellent and the staff were brilliant. My son loved going there and they did so many different things like pizza and chocolate parties to pirates party and lots of art.

The sand on the beach was very course, more like fine gravel so it didn't get everywhere. The sea was lovely and clean if you could manage to get in there without banging your toes on the rocks right by the seashore!
Once you managed that the sea bed was all sandy.

I would visit the resort again and would recommend it to anyone with children.

Lerapetra is a quiet seaside town. But has a good selection of bars and some very good shopping, ask my wife and elder daughter!
We enjoyed our walk along the promomade, keep an eye out for the local bikers who use this route as a roadway!
We did,nt visit any resort entertainment. The beach adjacent to the hotel is cleaned of litter daily & the water sports available are very good, but you could spend a lot of euro's if you have a large family.
The sea is warm and inviting.Immediately you enter the water there are slippery rocks so be careful. But it is pollution free and calm enough to venture out if you are a confident swimmer. When the wind blows from the south ( this is when the humidity climbs to 80% plus) the surf is up and it becomes a little rough for the little ones.

Absolutely loved this place. It was uncommercialised-still all Greek people going about thie everyday lives in a typical Greek town.Hotel was situated at the end of a lovely promenade so you could walk to the shops in the evenings where there were lots of bars and tavernas.Lots of beach sports if you wanted them and a huge town behind full of every shop you could want. Also lovely churches ,a museum and a port with fishermen mending their nets! All the locals were friendly .It just had a lovely atmosphere.

The hotel is located within a kilometer of the town, about a 10-15 minute walk away. The town itself was rather drab with not much on offer to visitors. The beach was very good. Very cleen and safe for children. I would recommend flip-flops because the sand can be searingly hot and is so sharp that it's painful to walk on in bare feet - especially at midday.
