Resort of Kalamaki has just one long strip of restaurants, bars and shops, all ok, and other towns i.e. Lagana are stones throw away.

Beach is very thin and not that fantastic to look at, one man hiring pedelos is about all you get, prob due to the turtles, yes we did see em, but on a boat trip.

Wouldnt go again, as all a bit samey really, once youve seen it once its enough. But a nice place all the same.

Big note though, you may think that the air planes would be a problem, as the airport is within eyeshot, you will hardly notice them, maybe around a dozen flights a day, but the noise lasts about 6-8secound then is gone.

Area Kalamaki is very quiet, for young people like we are.
Only beach was great, it was not full of people, we had privacy.
We was at this hotel on 2004. Now, is closed.
We will not return to Zante anymore.

Hello my name is chelsea Eaton. The resort i stayed in was very clean. The cleaners went into each room twice a day. The resort entertainment is great. They have a greek night every friday, which encludes a barbique and greek dancing. The beach is only half an hours walk from the hotel and just ten minutes ride in the taxi. I think the beach is ok. I would visit this hotel again.

Kalamaki very clean in general, no overfilled rubbish bins or fly tipping. The main strip is excellent.

Entertainment was plentiful for whatever you wanted. As was the choice of fantastic restaurants.

Unfortunately the beach although a beautiful setting it's badly let down by people using the whole stretch as a giant ashtray and all in all general dumping ground. We saw thousands of cigarrette ends and massive overflowing bins of rubbish. Surely they could sweep the beach without disturbing the Turtles as they only nest Aug/Sept to my knowledge. If something isn't provided for the smokers to use then the sand seems to be the logical place ! This will spoil the beach evetually and that's very, very sad. Some serious clean up investment has to instigated ASAP.

We will definitely be going again as we are thinking of buying a property in 2005 !

Kalamaki is an amazing resort to visit. With me only getting home yesterday I am bound to say that but I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are plenty of delicious places to eat and every bar we visited made you feel like part of the family!
We went to Laganas for a night out just to experience it but by far enjoyed Kalamaki more!
See you next year Kalamaki.

Kalamaki is a lovely place quite like a village atmosphere people are very friendly and i must say we never once were worried about being out late at night for safety, although we were always cautious.Every place we went into had something going on Karaoke, bingo, film nights Party nights quizzes the entertainment was there if you wanted it if not there were many bars you could sit and have a quiet drink or as men go watch the football which there was plenty of..the crystal beach we did not find very great but we just went further along towards laganas way where we found them nicer 2 sunbeds with umberellas 8 euros prices the same all over

Loved this resort. Lots of lovely restaurants and little shops. Theres a few trips that are good to go on, however DO NOT go on the tour around the island - even on a glorious day its far too choppy and quite likely to make you sick.

Go Karting off the main road from Kalamaki to laganas is great as is the horse riding (we went through the hill in Tsilivi). Zante town I found quite boring, but its only about 8 euros for a taxi if you want a change of scenery.

I would recommend the olive tree (or olive grove) restaurant for something to eat, we loved it.

Kalamaki ok, would try a different resort, everyone was raving about Tsillivi.

A few karaoke bars, restaurants ect. Went to the venue a few times, the kids loved singing, while we were getting drunk.

The aussie bar a good laugh, very popular, grabbana gru next to ruby's Chinese, was popular with the kids as the reps do they're weekly games and competitions there.

Went to the cave-bar once, very pretty, but got eaten alive by mozzies, so do use repellent before you visit this place. the beach was ok,not what we expected though, quite narrow, dark sand, the water was lovely and clear nice and warm, there are little fishes swimming in the sea, but they're harmless.

You can walk the length of the beach to laganas, but we got a taxi as it was 34degrees, faultless weather the whole fortnight we were there. We recommend the island tour to the ship wreck stunning, the views from the platform were breathtaking, we took the coach trip, because our friends went by boat and didn’t't get to see it due to the strong current at the time.

Also by coach we got to see most of the island and stopped every 20mins to see the sights and then went onto st nikos bay where we took a glass bottomed boat to the blue-caves and had a well deserved swim "stunning"the beach bbq was a hit with the kids what a laugh, they loved it.

Would definitely visit zante again, what an amazing island. Dont be put off by the tiny airport we didn’t think it was as bad as people made out. The holiday itself will make up for it...hope there's some useful information here, if you are fortunate to go here "have a nice time"?
