The only thing I can say about Kalamaki really is that they leave the bins at the side of the road and there are plenty of dogs about - which tend to do alot of barking in the early hours!
We ate out every night and the food was reasonably priced - would suggest a couple of visits to the Olive Tree. I cannot comment really about entertainment as the only thing we saw was a Greek Night at Antonio's Pool bar (great Cocktails).
The Beach was nice, however we did get our thigs swept away on our first day because you have to be on the waters edge due to the Turtles. The sea was fantastic for swimming in - really calm and clear.
I would definately go back to Kalamaki.

the beach was easy to access and not too crowded the sea was safe to paddle and swim in. there was lots of trips available such as the sailing experiance scuba and the Greek night all well worth a visit.already booked and counting down the days.

The main area of the resort was 20 minutes walk away from the hotel. Very dangerous road to walk at night, as there are no paths. Good food available at Christos's restarant, just 100 from hotel.Very friendly people indeed.
Taxi's readily available, although some drive too fast.

We felt that there was not a great deal in Kalamki compared to other resorts on the island, paths were also either very poor or non existant.

The resort was very clean and quite quiet, more for couples and families as there are no clubs.
The hotel is in the perfect location as the bars and restaurants are about a 10 minute walk one way and the beach is 5 minutes in the other direction so it is nicley in the middle.
I though I didn't like the beach at first and we stayed at the pool for the first few days, however once you get past the fact that the sand is darker and you have to sit near the sea because of the turtles its actually really nice and the sea is warm and lovley.
There are lots of restaurants and bars all showing english TV and football, it was much more english than i thought and i think you would have to get a car for a day to see some Greek culture. Unusually the chinese and indian restaurants are conmbined and we cleverly renamed them "chindians"!! they are actually really nice and the one opposite the fire bar we went to on 3 occaisions it was so nice, the Greek taverna on the left of there though made us very poorly. i would recommend the Escape taverna on the road from the hotel if you fancy trying a bit of local cuisine the feta special in particular was yummy! Everyone had mentioned Mirmaids but we were not impressed and had to wait a long time to be served, other prople complained to the staff about this, but when the food finally arrived it was nice but we didn't go back.
i would go back to Kalamaki but i think when i have a family as it is very safe and child friendly, i would also rent a car and travel around or do some more activities bgut for this holiday we just wanted to relax.

Kalamaki is mainly made up of restraunts with a few bars inbetween. Enjoyed a stroll along the main street at night and ate out 2 nights at the Olive Tree which was very good and reasonably priced.
Lovely beach that goes on for miles.

Kalamaki a fab place on this resort. Beach lovely and 2 mins walk away near the hotel crystal, which you could use the facilities of this hotel right on the beach, having best of both worlds. Hotel situated on road with lots of nice restaurants and bars, but the main strip, a 5 min walk away much busier if you like to be in the thick of things with restaurants a little more on the commercialised side. We hired a car for the week whilst here, for 180 euros and felt much happier being able to explore the rest of island. Saw some lovely beaches off the beaten track and would def recommend visiting Shipwreck cove, Port Vromi and the beaches on the south side, namely banana beach, St Nicks beach and the others along this coast.
Zante town very nice and worth visiting, go to the main square and you will not be disappointed for nice restaurants in a lovely surrounding.
Would def go back to Zakynthos, but recommend hiring a car if you like to explore the island and not just sit around the same resort.
